I'm a huge Lorna Shore fan, so yes, I can understand the majority of the lyrics; Will is very good at enunciating in his vocals. (Just to clarify, Will is the lyricist, he writes the poetry. Adam, the guitarist, writes the music.) It's interesting to me that you hear noise and chaos. For me, this music is beautifully blended with blast beats, gorgeous sweeping melodies and intense emotional lyrics with Will's unique vocal style. Deathcore may be an acquired taste for some, but for me it was love at first and every listen. And this ballad is evidence that even us metal heads have deep emotions - we just express them differently.

The story of the album is about the narrator choosing to exist in a dream world of his own making. The Pain Remains trilogy ends the album, and when he talks about the "death of god" he's talking about himself, choosing to end the dream because it isn't any better than the reality he escaped.

Interesting that you mentioned the part with the dying god. There is another whole meta-interpretation for this part: If you take a closer look to all the lyrics from the whole Pain Remains Album (not only this trilogy) it tells an overarching story about some kind of “being” that wakes up in the first song “Welcome Back, O' Sleeping…” and reaches a god-like state in the song: “Sun//Eater” and gets mad at everything but after a while it gets bored and numb for everything , because being omnipotent might sound fun at first but can drive you mad I guess. After some time it creates this world that you see in the trilogy Pain Remains and takes place within it (in the form from the man you see in the pain remains video) just to feel something again. But losing it's wife in it's self-self-made story drives it over the edge and it can’t take it anymore and decides not only to end himself but also the world it created: F*** this existence Bring me back to where it all began in the fall Wake me up before I lose it all Witness the death of God, hear the Devil′s choir As I leave the stage in a sea of fire I'll salt the earth in the crimson blaze The world will burn in my fall from grace So the death of God mentioned in the last song is actually him-self. The complete album is a nice well-thought written story which happens to have excellent music and vocals too. Man, you don’t get quality stuff like this often. Its truly a gem.

Watched my parents go through this exact scenario in highschool. Mom disintegrated from cancer, dad was gone and suicidal during and afterwards. I'm a grown ass man, metalhead since I was a kid and this still makes me cry every time. These songs are an incredible step for metal 🤘

Understanding the lyrics of metal screaming is kinda like catching bars in a rap song. You get better and better at it the more you listen to the genre.

This trilogy was what got me into deathcore… balled my eyes out when I first watched it. It released right after I lost one of my best friends. Still tear up every time I listen to it

I lost my wife suddenly in April after having heard these songs. I still reach for her hoping she'll grab my hand but she never does. It's indescribable the loss and pain I feel since losing her. Never take for granted those you love because they are gone before you know it.

As someone who almost lost my wife while she was giving birth to our daughter, that hopelessness that you feel, all that pain, it hits all at once. When the doctors told me I can't be in there, that they needed to make sure they could save her, I was flashed back to that scene in part 1 where he's sitting in the room after they wheeled her out. This was almost 7 years ago now and when this trilogy of songs came out they hit me on such a deep level. I was transported back to that moment, and it really does feel like a wrinkle in time, that it can't be possible and you just want to wake up. For those that have experienced something similar, I would never wish it upon anyone. And for those that haven't, I pray it doesn't come for you. If anyone is feeling like the end of part 3 and ready for the end, please reach out. You're never alone because we're all in this together. Even though we can tell this isn't your thing (deathcore) I for one appreciate you at least taking the time to see what we love about it, and even if you did have to read the lyrics you can see what this new era of music is taking us to.

Oh shit I didn't expect all 3 at once! Hell yeah! So much emotion in these songs it's incredible. Never thought I'd cry to a blackened deathcore song.

Another reactor, The Charismatic Voice, she is a vocal coach. She did a cool video with Will Ramos, the lead signer. They had a throat cam on Will while performing. It long and but a interesting watch to understand how he is able to scream like he does.

This song goes so hard that I literally only listen to it in one go, and only once every few weeks. I don't want it to lose its magic.

Putting the whole video together was one heck of a labor of love. Once I watched/listened to all three parts, they struck a deep chord in me due to how relatable they were. So I figured that everyone should be able to experience this trilogy, no matter their background. Putting the lyrics in there means it would be approachable for everyone since it is definitely a bit difficult to understand what Will is saying unless you listen to this kind of stuff all the time. And it means a lot when people are saying how the trilogy made them feel. Music can be a powerful thing and I'm happy that you enjoyed the video!

I can’t help to cry every time I listen to the trilogy. I have attached it to the memory of losing my fiancé and how I felt through it. It’s a pain that truly stays. Doesn’t fade. All you can do is to cope with it. And these songs made me feel less alone. That someone understood my pain. They’re beautiful.

I have listened quite a lot to extreme metal, but I'm not a native English speaker, but I cannot make out a single word of the lyrics without reading them. Something else that happens from listening more to this kind of music, though, is that this chaotic sonic attack becomes normal and doesn't feel chaotic and stressful anymore, but rather feels... Almost soothing?

Its wild that a song can simultaneous make me want to headbang and go nuts, and curl up and cry. I feel like this trilogy is a better representation of grief than most sad songs because of the anger and bitterness mixed in to the sadness that can come with loss. I also dont often hear the emotion from alot of guitarists but you can definitely feel the pain and anguish from the solos.

Oh man, that was interesting seeing an innocent young man and a man a few long human years older experiencing different emotions while watching this trilogy. A boy digging the arts, and a man who's seen some shit.

9:45 The point is it's supposed to sound like chaos. Losing the love of your life and the slow inner self immolation until you eventually snap and leave this world because you don't want to be in one without them is horrific. That's why it's so heavy and fitting.

Lorna shore has a high barrier for entry. its not easy listening but they layers of complexity in the instrumentation, vocals , lyrics and visuals are astounding. i get chills hearing the pain , rage , sorrow and depth of human emotion that they managed to capture. its not for everyone but watching your take was fantastic!!!! cheers!

One thing I cant help but appreciate is what another reactions channel " a windmill full ov corpses" had said was the tragic ending to this story most likely happened because this man had been seemingly left alone and to his own battles , other than the small gathering of people and the crazy priest looking guy yelling all fervently and whatnot , had someone insisted to be a companion in such a time of sadness for this man and his obvious love of his life gone, things may have never gotten to that point. My fav band of all time is The black dahlia murder, been rocking them since 2003. Know the words to every song and it helped me Understand death metal and all the other types of metal way easier lol Trevor was a beast on the vocals with the highs and lows, RIP tho. Such a great guy and great vocalist.

whenever i need to remind myself that i have emotions, i go back to watching this trilogy. literally can't look at *that* scene from part one without crying in five seconds.

The way I interpret “Dancing Like Flames” is like Wills vocals portraying the anger and sadness over the situation that makes you relate to the song, the guitars and the drums bring in the chaos or overwhelmingness of like what am i going to do now? Along with your experiences and memories with that person all racing through your head and that guitar solo really hits me with like dark and sad and hectic almost like you’re sad, you know you’re sad but at the same time it’s like you can’t comprehend what just happened and you’re trying to wrap your head around it.

Since you mentioned the interview with Ren you've got to do an interview with Will. You think the vocals don't match the lyrics? Wait till you meet Will. Dude is like a puppy; just the nicest, happiest, ball of positivity. You'd never think he possessed such lyrical depth or be able to make such terrifying sounds.😅

Fun fact, Will said in an interview that the whole album is about an individual that crafted a dream world to escape reality. This trilogy is that author realizing his time in this world is over and is now waking up. From this, this is his rage at the world he has to leave behind and cannot return to.

Its beautiful sad lyricism meets anger. And we, as metal listeners, respond more (in my opinion) to the loud chaos and emotion brought out in distorted guitars, fast beats, and painful screams that just make you want to be angry. Yet its a huge emotional release. Its that outlet that allows you to be a decent human being outside in the real world. Death metal and any metal really is such a relatable experience to so many people.

when you listen to such music for a long time you get used to it, it stops giving you such a kick as at the beginning, but you start to appreciate the beauty and mastery of people who play it.

I'm a big Lorna Shore fan and I didn't think you where disrespectful this music is hard to digest for a lot of people especially on you're first time hearing it. Also if you want to hear more approachable deathcore try Whitechapel-A blood-soaked symphony. Another emotional album about Phil Bozeman the vocalist losing his parents.

In my opinion this music is all about the emotion, the feelings are too big to be conveyed in normal speech and song the pain and loss hit you like this in life and it imitates the experience that they are feeling that chaos and uncertainty the uncomfortable feeling you get in my opinion is intentional until you settle into the music and it becomes comfortable in a way that can't really be explained

Love this genre, i can understand probably 70-75% of words in any given song on a first listen. Sometimes less, sometimes more. It gets easier, absolutely. Love that you reacted to this!

I was raised in a super Christian home as well. My dad is literally a pastor. I wasn't allowed non-Christian music at all and I was home schooled in a military community overseas so I was super sheltered. I'm also a huge Lorna Shore fan. So are multiple members of my family. Not my parents, of course, but I've always felt I've been a bit more drawn to extreme music because of the fact I lived such a sheltered life growing up.

Man I love Lorna Shore and as someone who lost both my parents to cancer 9 months apart while I was still fairly young and had a younger sister still in HS. I love the fact that all these reactions channels (especially ones ran by primarily rap focused artists like you and Knox Hill) have been checking out metal and such lately, and even seeing the beauty in it, rather than just going "I can't understand it, it's garbage".

You're comment at 9:44 is exactly what I love about metal and especially bands like Lorna Shore and many others. They bring to the table, almost a Ying and Yang. The words being said are deep and captivating, yet the production from the band, is just so heavy, and dark. And I honestly, I can say, that I appreciate you stepping into the world of metal.

Ok... the entire album is a story, the trilogy is just the end. It's a story about falling asleep and beginning to dream. Then that dream becomes lucid and you can dictate how the dream progresses. Once you can control the dream you begin to live out your fantasy in that world. Eventually though the dream world takes back over and becomes nightmarish. The trilogy takes place at this point and the protagonist offing himself at the end is how he escapes the nightmare and reawakens. The protagonist is the God of his dreamscape so when will says witness the death of God its the guy talking about himself.

Lorna Shore have become the GOATs of Deathcore just because the album alone, but that trilogy is a game changer. The trilogy reminds me of 2020, not because of COVID, but because of my divorce and how I literally felt like my life was at its end because of it. I lost my entire world and my faith was tested thereafter, but it all came back and I’ve never been better. And Lorna’s music has definitely been a huge help because the chaos is so therapeutic when you’re in the state of mind. Good work, dudes! 🤘🏽🤘🏽

What I loved is that the melody/riff you hear in the final moment of pain remains 3 is actually present in the other two songs as well. It's all connected.

This trilogy always felt like such a cathartic release for me. It's like you can live the life of the protagonist while also realizing that what he's doing is too far, and it allows you to just revel in this massive weight it takes off your chest being able to still almost experience it yourself in an odd way. Experiencing this trilogy just makes you feel like you can scream away all your frustrations and leave it with the same feeling you get after a much needed cry. Just overwhelming catharsis and an odd sense of comfort.

Hi, metalhead here (started in the late 90's). Ya boy is right, it does become like a dialect almost. As with most things, you gotta learn it. I didn't understand most of the stuff I listened to back in the day, but you get an ear for it depending on how passionate you are about it. I listen to it nearly every day, especially anytime im at work, and I still don't understand everything. Being a metalhead comes with the knowledge that you will forever look up at least some lyrics. There are PLENTY of bands that pronounce words in such guttural, distorted ways that they literally aren't saying "words", so you'll never be able to discern those specific lyrics without the actual words in front of you, but you get to a point where you get most of it. It also depends on how well a singer can enunciate their words while screaming. Deathcore, for all it's demonic cacophony, is really at the forefront of enunciating words in extreme metal atm imo. I've often said that extreme metal is sometimes more an experience rather than just listening to a song. With most music, the lyrics are really important in selling the song to you. However, with metal, it can just be about strapping in and riding the wall of chaos being thrown at you. Like, the people in the pit couldn't give two fucks what the lyrics are.

Wow I love seeing someone being so OPEN to a very different type of music. You really tried to listen and pay attention and give it a chance. I struggle to understand and enjoy deathcore as well (some other metal I like though), but I would like to try to learn to appreciate more metal genres and more harsher vocals. (Up until recently I thought I hated rap, but Ren has been a gateway into discovering more genres and I'm loving it.) I feel like I'm on the same journey into this with you and andiroo together. This is the reason why I love deathcore, death-metal so much. I can resonate a lot. And the missconception about this genre is that people who don't usually listen to this music think it's just screaming. All the bands I listen to. Sing about deep subjects, hard conversations. About war, about hard feelings, depression, loss, pain... I think that's one of the reasons the metal community is so close and amazing to be in it. When you hear the trilogy live. Man I cried the whole time. I totally get lost in the music. And Live... Lorna Shore does look up to the expectations.

I've lost family before hearing this trilogy and none of those time did I feel the way I felt like when I hear this song like I did when I lost my grandmother. The only song that hit me like this was Five Finger Death Punch Gone Away.

The dream interpretation, is technically the correct interpretation as in the interview it was said that this album starts out with a protagonist that is so sick of the waking world that he creates a world inside of his dreams to live within, and the album goes from the dreams creation to the dream falling apart and eventually fading. This is why the lyrics mention dreaming a few separate times.

Ive lost mom too to cancer and I feel the pain of watching a father go through it, I still remember I was in my room and the way my house is setup, all the bedrooms go to a hallway andd then that hallway connects to the living room and kitchen, and my old room was in the back so I had to go through my fathers bedroom door always, when Mom passed away and we got the call, I left my room and started walking down the hallway to the living room to exit my house to go to the hospital and I have the phrase "My love is gone" imprinted in my mind, that scream still haunts me. Now I lost dad too and he wasnt the best dad but without him I wouldnt be here without him and mom, they were Ying and Yang, she was the caring, loving, serious when needed mother and he was the tough guy, tough love, screaming and more, but they were in love and I am happy I am the son of this family. May they rest in peace, I thought of joining them many times, but I failed 3 times already, the world doesnt want me to leave so I guess I will sit here and wait to see what the world brings.

As a Marine who has lost my share of friends, and also someone who lost a sister to cancer, I feel this trilogy really does a fantastic job summarizing that pain, anger, and sometimes defeat that is felt with extreme loss. It's so true that this kid says you get used to the dialect after a while, same thing happened to me with "To The Hell fire" I had to look up the lyrics having only truly being able to make out "pin & needles & ""nothing confessed, put me to rest" LoL I even commented on their video that they should add lyrics for us newbies (especially us old one's) to be able fully appreciate the songs, but after looking up the lyrics & listening to more of their music (a year or however long it's been later) now I can't believe I ever DIDN'T understand what he was saying! Now it's more like he's just clearly talking. Kinda like one of those optical illusions that you have to stare at to see, once you see the intended image... you can't ever unsee it again! LoL The greatest thing about LS tho (IMO) is that the music alone grabs you & makes u feel b4 you ever understand the lyrics anyways. To The Hell Fire grabbed AND throttled me hard from the start enough to want, NEED to know what he was saying. As a matter of fact I'll never forget the sheer EXCITEMENT I felt listening for the 1st time. As long as the song is... I remember being utterly disappointed when it ended. I'm pretty sure I alone am responsible for their viewership being in the 10's of millions of views!😜 & I shared it w everyone I know & even ppl I didn't know! LoL They truly deserve all the great things they've worked for over all the years! I could understand about 85%-90% of the lyrics the first time I heard the song. Now, I cant even watch the entire video without tearing up at the end of part one because it was completely unexpected to come from them.

It is always funny when people who judge metal see/listen to the lyrics of a lot of these songs and realize they can be DEEP.

Metal music no matter the specific genre is not for everyone but as anything else can be something of help for some people. As a teen, many years ago i faced some dark times that made me deal with suicidal thoughts. At that time the ones that saved my life were Disturbed. It is very important to have this type of music and message out because music can save lives and can help people heal. When people say this trilogy saved their lives or other songs and/or artist saved them, most of the time is not an exaggeration. Is just the truth. If you want to see a different way of how music saves lives and brings people together react to A reason to fight from Disturbed. The way i suggest you do it is to react in the same video first to the official music video where you have the whole song and part of the message clearly stated in the video itself and right after watch the official live video, where you can see what Disturbed is all about in their live shows and how music changes lives.

As a pretty big deathdcore fan, after a while you can make out like 80% of the lyrics. It becomes easier to mentally separate the voice from the insturmental, but that's also partially due to good producing. I bad music producer will make it harder for the listener to hear the lyrics.
