Definitely the most versatile, talented vocalist. So many vastly different types of music, no one can touch him. The release "California" shows a completely different side of Mike Patton with Mr. Bungle, his original group. Check out "Pink Cigarette (live)" or "Air Conditioned Nightmare" as an opening suggestion for Bungle. They're super talented and very diverse... and can be very provocative.

So glad you guys finally came back to some more FNM. Evidence is a quality song. "King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime" is one of favourite FNM albums. This one really highlights what a fantastic singer Mike Patton is. It's a great video too.

Mike Patton's Peeping Tom would be right up your guys alley, more hip hop influenced and heaps of guest stars. Mojo was the big single off it but Not Alone and Your Neighbourhood Spaceman are great songs too!

I went to a music festival in Australia back in 2015, wasn't planning on watching faith no more, but they ended up being a highlight for me!! I saw an interview somewhere where Mike Patton spoke about his singing, and he talked about how he thought of his voice as more of an instrument and focussed more on the sounds he can make with it, and the lyrics came after. I really liked that because I always hear the sound of a singers voice with the music in songs before I take notice of the words they're actually singing. Also, you should check out faith no more song called stripsearch!

It's not just on a smooth song like this that Mike Patton's vocals are great. It's the breadth and variety of his abilities that really makes him the greatest vocalist. In addition to FNM, Mike Patton has had more bands and side projects than maybe any other human on the planet and each one is a different style and level of intensity. Whether he's going crazy on a Mr. Bungle track ("Carousel" or "My Ass Is On Fire," e.g.), going hard on a Dillinger Escape Plan song ("Pig Latin"), getting smooth with Fantomas on an R&B cover that dips into some rock at points ("Simply Beautiful"), getting experimental with microphones and rock vocals with Tomahawk ("Flashback," "God Hates A Coward"), getting symphonic with old Italian pop songs (anything from the "Mondo Cane" album), covering 80s pop hits with Sparks ("This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both Of Us" or "Something For The Girl With Everything"), doing vocal sound FX for monsters in movies and videogames, etc, etc, etc, Mike Patton can do seemingly anything with his voice that he wants to. Any one band (except Mr. Bungle) sort of puts him in a box for that project but each box that he's put in is temporary. Dude's got a six octave vocal range, a million different colorations within those octaves, and absolutely no limits to what genre he'll jump into. And that's just a few of the projects he's fronted or been a part of. If I listed all his projects and side projects, this comment would go on for pages and pages and pages. In addition to any of the songs I mentioned above, a couple of Faith No More tracks that would show a different, rockier side of Patton and FNM would be "Caffeine," "Digging The Grave," "Surprise! You're Dead," or "Jizzlobber." And, if you ever decide to check out those Tomahawk songs I mentioned above, do the live version from Australian TV because they sound just as good as the album but seeing him and the band (which is a bit of a supergroup, btw) and how he's getting those FX on his voice takes them to a new level. Anyway, as others have said, "best singer" is a subjective title because everyone has their own preferred tones and textures when it comes to singers. BUT "best vocalist" I think is undebatable with Mike Patton. I can't think of one single other singer on the planet who can do (and does) as many different styles, genres, ranges, and sound FX as Mike Patton. When it comes to being a vocalist, there's no one at his level.

Yay!! I've been hoping for more Faith no More!! I would love for you guys to react to Peeping Tom. Especially with your rap/ hip hop background. They do a stunning cover of Desperate Situation that gives me goosebumps, but their whole album is incredible. Lots of collaborators like Rahzel, Dan the Automator, Massive Attack, Dub Trio..... Hands down my favorite FNM is Surprise! You’re Dead. Second:Caffeine Third: Digging the Grave But I love all FNM. On the newest album Sol Invictus are three awesome songs that stood out to me: Matador, Separation Anxiety and Cone of Shame. I will say Cone of Shame isn’t for everyone but it’s amazing.

You should keep in mind it’s every member of the band that put out such amazing work! Faith No More is a group of misfit toys that found each other and created something very special… There back catalog is a manic masterpiece of every style you can think of they are truly the founders of what Alternative music would become in the 90’s (Faith No More is in all seriousness my generation Beatles or Stones) But, they don’t get nearly enough mainstream credit

Book Of Knots - Planemo, Tin Hat Trio - Infinito, General Patton vs the X-Ecutioners - !Kamikaze!, Peeping Tom - Your Neighbourhood Spaceman, Dillinger Escape Plan - When Good Dogs Do Bad Things, Tomahawk - Cpt. Midnight and Point And Click. Then there's Fantomas but I'm not sure if you can handle most of their stuff but try Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. The guys a workaholic, could make a list as long as my arm.

Thanks for reacting to some kind of b-side song… one of my favorite FNM songs ever, just „a small victory“ and „just a man“ (also smooth and different from their „rockin“ songs) are in front. So these are my recommendations!

Patton's vocals are good, and he's definitely very talented, but when it comes to the music of Faith No More, the songs themselves, the spirit of Faith No More comes from the core Gould/Bordin/Bottum. This song, the music was written by the bassist and drummer, Gould & Bordin.

So I was listening to this album in my room one day and my mon told me to "turn that cr@p down" on one of the other songs... I put on this song and she asked me who the band is... gonna say she has been a fan of the band ever since...

Mike has said himself, he doesn't think he is the best, but he works with people that are better than he is.

The realization that 'Mike Patton Is God' doesn't come with a single song. It comes with discovering that he CAN do any style vocal style he wants (and then invent a couple of new ways)...and be the best there is, in that style :) Do 'A Small Victory' please ;)

FNM does a cover of the Commodores song "Easy" great Justice. One of my black friends was riding with me when this song came on and he about lost it. Couldn't believe it was white boys.

Mike Patton gets a lot of well deserved respect but make sure you pay attention to the people he works with because he constantly surrounds himself with other great musicians, many of them with their own great projects.

_Vocalism._ Without looking it up, I'll go ahead and say if a vocalist is vocalizing, they're probably doing it through vocalism. And you're wrong about Mike Patton being able to sing in any style he wants. It goes beyond singing. Mike Patton can make _any sound_ he wants. Look up videos about Mike Patton's voice work in video games, specifically _The Darkness._ And _Left 4 Dead?!_ I didn't know that was him! Wow. So I'm unsure if _vocalism_ is a word, but if it wasn't, it is now, and it is _all_ about Mike Patton.

This is why I voted for Mike in the best vocalist comp. He's versatility is outrageous. You could have a patton day every week and still never get through his catalogue.
