The beautiful Mathilde Tantot & Isabelle Mathers are 2 of Instagram's biggest influencers atm with over 11 million followers between them! Download Coin Splash here app.adjust.com... *thank you to Coin Splash for sponsoring today's video!
Mathilde Tantot & Isabelle Mathers are two sister duos on social media and they are STUNNING! But - as like with everyone, no one looks like their instagram persona 24/7 in real life. No one walks around posing all day, in perfect lighting, with a lovely filter following them around. It's just not reality. In reality? Influencers are just people too and they breathe out, eat meals, get bloated and relax their bellies and you'd probably be surprised to see that in real life, they look just like you!
Who are your favourite influencers? Who would you like to see in this series next? x

liposuction .... a lot of fat burner machine. lol to be heavily identified with any materiality is a pain in the ass. i dont mean to sputter any cliche philosophy jargon but its really true. you just need a few select people whom you love and genuinely love/ accept you in return for who you are and thats just it. you dont need the world or strangers to validate your existence. if you develop this mindset enough, you even need just yourself to fulfill you not in a conceited manner but in a wholesome way

What really pisses me off about influencers is when they say “do this workout/eat these foods to get a body like mine!” everyone has different body shapes. Some of us naturally have bigger boobs, wider waists and smaller hips. Some of us don’t. We’re all different, yet influencers don’t bother to tell you this. It’s disgusting how they feed off (young) girls insecurities for their daily checks. I can’t WAIT for the day this whole “influencer era” dies tf down.
@enchantedpropaganda
@enchantedpropaganda Год назад
@what ever yes exactly!! No matter if we workout daily or change up our diets/stick to them, our bodies won’t magically change shape like these influencers love to selfishly promote. I’m glad you’re doing it because you like it though and not for other harsh reasons!
@marinaavaneci6668
@marinaavaneci6668 Год назад
I definitely agree! Body shape is very dependent on our bone structure and how our body produces/metabolizes fat. Everyone will look different even if they do the same workouts or follow the same eating regimens as these influencers. Not enough people realize this. So when someone says “Do this workout to get a body like mine”, it’s actually quite deceptive.

I now am 23 years old and people like you helped me seeing myself and others in a more realistic light, which obviously is beneficial for my mental health. I wish for everyone who is younger and doesn't know better by now to stumble across videos like this and not let the digital "reality" fool them into not feeling good enough! Honestly, I would have accomplished so much by now if I weren't fed up with anxiety as I am. In the end, no one will remember my tiny mistakes as I do, no one will judge my figure, face or hair like I do. The spotlight effect is literally killing people because we become so insecure. You don't need to be. I'd say you should make sure your basic hygiene is met and try to look appropriate for your school / working space. Everything else according to your looks is optional. You don't need make up. You don't need to wake up an hour or two early to get ready, especially not if it exhausts you. Outer looks do not matter as much as people think. Focus on things that actually matter in the long term, like evaluating what you do ant to accomplish and how you can do that

@@henriette7669 ‼️See what worries me and what I have seen a large trend of recently is men who have Instagrams who follow all of these women who GENUINELY believe they look like that in real life. These men GENUINELY don't know all of the tricks and how much Photoshop goes into these pictures. And so I have seen these men commenting on real life women saying well such and such influencer looks like that why don't you or if you would just watch what you eat and work out more you could look like *insert influencer* too. I've been seeing this on Reddit a lot. Men who genuinely don't know that literally every single influencer heavily photoshops their bodies and so they are expecting real life women to look like this! When even the influencer in the picture they're comparing normal women to doesn't look like that! I really believe it should be a required class in highschool that every one of all genders has to take about Photoshop and how to recognize photoshop. I definitely think videos like yours could greatly benefit both men and women. Especially because Photoshop and photo editing apps are getting more and more realistic and it's getting harder and harder to tell what is photo magic and what isn't! And this problem is literally only getting worse and worse as technology gets better and as more men join Instagram.

This may be tricky for you to do without it getting demonetised, but I would actually be really interested in a video about whether plus-size models and influencers fall prey to the same pressures. I mean, many of them are doing what they do because they want normalise less Barbie-like body types, but do they still feel the need to alter their *shape* in editing, whilst maintaining their size? Or are some of them really showing us their unfiltered bodies in order to promote their message as truthfully as possible?

@saskia9720
@saskia9720 Год назад
Anyone who looked "flawless" in their pictures is likely editing their pictures, just in ways you cannot tell, such as the technique of completely airbrushing someone's skin and then layering skin texture on top to make it look real. In the very very slim chance that the photos are not edited or filtered, they're probably still wearing a full face of expensive makeup, and using professional lighting to look "flawless". Not to be cynical, but pretty much everyone with a social media platform that consists of pictures of themselves edits their pictures. If someone looks "flawless", then they edit their pictures, because people are not flawless. While the pictures may look less posed and maybe less edited, just keep reminding yourself it's a mix of make-up, lighting, and Photoshop. It's all fake.

I have been incredibly aware of all negative influences around me from a young age. I remember how the teen magazines made me feel like my room and my clothes and my whole body are ugly.. so I stopped looking at them and all my unhappiness went away. Years later, Facebook kind of started to do it also so I never signed up for more social media and I got off Facebook, as well. Even the diy RU-vid channels have made me feel like my house needs improvements and fixing and when I stopped looking at them, I became more grateful to have a home and my family safe and comfortable in it. Without social media, I don’t know what pipe dreams people are selling. I do know that I am fully engaged in my real life on good days and on bad days. You are absolutely right , I don’t think a lot of people discuss this aspect. I used to be a photography major just prior to the beginning iPhone days . The distortion from a selfie cam is really intense actually, especially the closer you see to your phone . Since a feature only looks the way it does because of light, lighting is everything . Did you know that most model photographs or things of that nature have a system of lights to light ones face from below above and the sides , creating an effect that rarely happens in natural lighting. They use giant gold pieces of fabric to bounce even more light onto models faces. It was interesting to see that my older cousins were the first I heard of using face tune , they had young daughters and it just blew my mind that they didn’t see the ramifications of that . Here if you ever need a chat ❤

All of the influencers you talk about, I have never heard of. 😅 I agree with your thoughts on the “love yourself” video. It comes across disingenuous and hypocritical.

Future video suggestion: maybe you could also do a format where you show some influencers that don’t edit their pictures that much and show more realistic fotos? I love this format, I just think that maybe it would be hopeful to also present positive examples?🙈♥️

I should be thanking you, Stephanie. I've improved so much my mental health thanks to your videos. I don't follow any influencer online because of their body to be honest. Because I heard from someone when i was around 12 years old to stop following ""body goals"""" women to stop comparing myself to them and to be also honest, I guess the only It girl i followed once was Loren (she's so stunningggg). But lately I was looking at Madison Beer and felt the most insecure I have ever been and these videos have helped me so much to accept better myself and love me better

Love your videos. I love how you address eating disorders and the body standards in society. These videos do often trigger me but I watch them to help me realise that most of what I see is filtered and photo shopped. Because I do not look like any of these people. I’ve recently got my wedding pictures back which I don’t like right now but I know in tears to come I will when I’m healed. I would have loved them to be photoshopped like we see everywhere. But I know that’s not me and not natural. I love and hate photos. Thank you for all your videos you do help me ❤

What really makes me angry is that so many of these influencers who edit their bodies into oblivion also preach about loving your own body. It's utter bullshit.

‼️See what worries me and what I have seen a large trend of recently is men who have Instagrams who follow all of these women who GENUINELY believe they look like that in real life.

I just love this series of videos so much, I think anyone on social media should watch these videos daily. Editing photos is SO damaging and it does really come Mathilde may have her own issues around eating/body image- she's editing her photos to the extent that she looks unwell. Whilst I feel for anyone who may have their struggles, any social media influencer does have a responsibility to try not to perpetuate a damaging ideology. I wish that it would be made a legal requirement for any edited photos to confirm that the photo has been edited. Maybe then people would think twice about editing.

I actually met Isabelle Matthers in Gold Coast and Mathilde Tantot In Bordeaux, and Isabelle looks exactly like her pictures irl, even more beautiful, and completely natural. She just is super small and tiny. And also very nice. Mathilde… is … pretty but super normal, not that skinny, very tiny and quite average
