As much as I hope SB is locked up and the key is launched into space from Cape Canaveral, she should have a fair trial. It's her right. I wonder if her attorney just doesn't want to deal with her case knowing that she always thinks she's the smartest, most righteous one in the room and never stops talking. Unfortunately, the attorney has to suck it up and do his job. And hopefully quickly so we all don't have to listen to her again!

To be removed from a case for misconduct is a dangerous game for an attorney to play. He does seem to be quite incompetent and disgracefully unprofessional. The judge assigned to the case has a VERY bad reputation - he is disliked by the court staff, which is a very bad sign. But, he's a Florida state judge. It's DeSantis land . Nothing works there.

Which is why it’s not really fair for Peter to say the lawyer should be saying when they met when he knows they can’t. The lawyer also can’t disclose anything about the case to this private investigator. He hasn’t been appointed by the court and he can’t have access to her information. Peter knows that as well. All of this is ridiculous. Her lawyer is waiting on a court case regarding the DV consultant and court costs and the case can’t move forward until that case has gone through and the cost have been approved or not. He is actually doing his job. But honestly if I was him I would want to be off this case so badly she is determined to put his name through the mud no matter what for attention.

@Hidakaku56
@Hidakaku56 Год назад
It could potentially get the lawyer taken off the case, but with how many other public defenders she's gone through (either because of irreconcilable differences or because of conflicts of interest) there probably isn't many more to choose from. Or if he keeps it up and the judge doesn't take him off the case he could either be held in contempt (jail or fined) until he complies with working the case or he could potentially face sanctions. If he's proven to not have represented her fairly its probably going to be contempt/sanctions.

This is Terri from Virginia ❤ I am curious if Ms Boone speaks/spoke to her attorney in the same manner in which she spoke to the detectives during her “interrogation”. Perhaps this could have something to do with him avoiding her. Even though the interrogation was poorly executed and unprofessional, in my opinion, parts of her story, kept changing. Her responses seemed unreasonable. It was excruciating to listen to. I’m not trying to be judgmental. Just offering a possible reason for lack of communication from the lawyer. I agree with you. It’s not an excuse. He should still do his due diligence in representing Ms. Boone.

First: Prisonbreak? I spit my water out when you said that! 😂 Second: This is such a one sided account and we all know Sarah is a liar and manipulator. We heard from the judge’s mouth at the last meeting with her in the courtroom the judge found no reason to consider her complaints. He must feel they are ridiculous and unfounded but since the judge won’t or cannot make a statement we all don’t know what the truth is. Third: Sarah is appealing to the public and trying to get sympathy. She mentioned that once again in this letter. She knows she is going to spend a lot of time in prison. I have a feeling even after her trip and conviction (mos likely) she will still be annoying writing letters!

@@LarryTheRaccoon No. There does come a justifiable time to avoid a client. If a client harrasses, badgers, or threatens a lawyer, it's ok to define boundaries that include ignoring their calls on a case by case basis. We don't know the attorney's side of the story, and we shouldn't be surprised if that's what happened. We've only heard her side of the story, and her claims have not been verified or validated. We do know she's a liar. We do know she's a manipulator, and has a history of drama and exaggerating in serious issues. However, our system of court appointed lawyers is mediocre at best. Thank you Peter for keeping us updated on this case. While nothing surprises me about this case anymore, the lack of communication that this lawyer has with his client is unacceptable. And the fact that an investigator is willing to assist SB and her lawyer with this case but the lawyer won’t even respond to him is nonsensical. If all of this information is true, then something needs to change. While I do believe SB is guilty, she is still entitled to competent counsel and to be able to provide an adequate defense to the charges that she is facing. Peter, do you think the judge will intervene and appoint SB a new attorney or do you think he will compel him to start having regular meetings with his client?

However, in her case, she sadistically taunted Jorge as he suffocated. She will go to prison, without a doubt, IMO.

@@samlott99 Disagree....This is absolutely NOT "the same as a drunk driver who kills someone". A drunk driver makes a foolish and stupid choice to drive while inebriated -- ending the life of another human being most likely never enters their mind (although it should, don't get me wrong....) Sarah, on the other hand, mocked Jorge cruelly as he was suffocating -- as he was suffering -- she laughed and called him names as he lay dying. There is a world of difference between what a drunk driver does and what she did..... And, since Jorge died at her hands, she has never shown one iota of remorse or regret. I do believe Sarah Boone does have a hard time getting in contact w/ her attorney like she’s been saying b/c where I live it’s the same way, especially if it’s one the court has appointed you!! I live in a small town in Kentucky if u’re appointed a Public Defender (PD) & if ur still incarcerated ur lucky if u see or hear anything from them before u go to court again!! And when ur appointed a PD the judge tells u who it is & tells u they’ll be in contact w/ u & they’ll be out to the jail to see u & to talk to u about ur case!! If u try calling them collect they’ll accept the call but more than likely ur not going to get to talk to ur PD & u can leave a message asking for them to come see u so u can talk about ur case or whatever, but it doesn’t do any good b/c 9 times out of 10 they don’t come!! The day u go to court right before u go in front of the judge ur PD comes & talks to u & tells u what they’re wanting to do or what they’re offering. SMH it’s crazy!! Like I said I live in a small town, so it’s not like their overloaded w/ cases & our PD they don’t have their own practice where they have paying clients no we have an actual PD office, so they work for the state & gets paid by the state all their clients are given to them by a judge!! I guess that’s why they don’t put much time & effort into ur case like one would if u were paying them ur self, but I’m sorry if they were wanting to get their name out there, or they truly loved what they do then it looks like they would do better & show u their going to help fight for u!! And I’m not saying there’s anything wrong w/ having to have a PD I’m just saying I believe they could ALL do better 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

She deserves adequate counsel for her trial, no matter how difficult or unlikable she is. If these letters weren’t true or were exaggerated it would easily be provable by the attorney. After however many letters she has sent the easiest thing for him to do would be to send her a letter every 1-2 weeks with a short case update. Even if it was an update that said no progress, we are waiting on X, we have tried Y. That way he wouldn’t have to actually speak to her if she is difficult and there would be a paper trail of communication.

I was beat up by a sheriff's deputy, over trash in my yard, one day after I buried my father. I'm a disabled, senior citizen who has never been in trouble with the law. I now have permanent damage to my back and neck. I was assigned a public defender who continued the case over and over again without my permission. Then she took a job with the prosecutor's office. Now I have another attorney who seems to be on the ball, but I don't hear from him for weeks at a time. The case is headed to 2 years shortly and I'm getting real tired of the games that are being played. Ultimately, the case will be dismissed. The officer lied under oath and it has come out he was attacking me because of his "friendship" with my neighbor. After claiming the video of the encounter was corrupted, they have finally gotten it to my lawyer and that's when it was revealed he lied. Any suggestions as to how to get this moving faster would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to know what are the reason why an attorney wouldn't be talking with the client that is awaiting trial? Why would he not talk to the client? Why would her lawyer speak with her from July - September? Between those two court appearances, all they could do is wait. It was continued because the defense couldn’t find an Expert willing to testify for the JAC rate that she was a Battered Spouse. The hearing between the Expert and JAC regarding payment was set for September. No case movement until they knew if they were moving forward with their Expert or had to try to find another one.

I’m just wondering what this investigator could possibly do for her. This entire case is going to come down to those 2 videos where everything is explained. We know how he died, why he died and who was responsible for it. I don’t know what needs to be investigated. We already know the past of both the victim and perpetrator. No one else is involved in this murder and there’s nothing that really needs to be looked into. My guess is that she hired this investigator simply because she wanted someone else to contact her attorney for her. I don’t see any other reason why

I think Sarah Boone needs to CHECK HERSELF. For me, every time she has a valid point, she negates it with her entitlement and/or lack of accountability. The world does not have her wrong. I am not speaking about WHAT she should specifically be convicted of, but simply that what she did was wrong and unacceptable regardless. This was not a self defense issue, that was a HORRIFIC way for George to be killed. She can have all types of battered woman, etc etc - but that was really really disturbing and very sad. I hope she learns about victim impact and how her ridiculous and underlining disrespectful letters are victimizing his family every single time.

This girl is straight up a narcissist. Her actions are so control-freak classic narcissist behavior that they are a huge turn off for anyone trying to help her. Once the narcissist’s behavior has been justified (judge actuality giving her his time, codling her like a petulant child), she will only get worse. She has nothing but time. No lawyer will be able to adequately defend her as she will constantly try to be in charge, wrecking any defense, just to have the last word. At least she’s already in prison, where she will probably be 🤞for the rest of her life for killing another human being. So, trial or no trial, she’s home already. She doesn’t care about guilt or innocence; it’s the attention she craves and she’s found a judge that reciprocates. All of that letter writing is the narcissist’s “reality”; not necessarily the truth, but her way of getting the me-me-me attention that she/the narcissist craves.

@@juliehicks8459 A guy chooses to drink in the bar until closing time, gets in his car to head home, and "unintentionally" kills someone when he rear-ends them at a stop light. DUI Manslaughter has a mandatory minimal sentence of 4 years, up to 30 years depending on the circumstances. Sarah Boone, (who claims she didn't remember making the self incriminating video), chose to drink, (a fact she admitted, verified by investigators) then chose to zip Jorge up into a suitcase. She is heard sadistically taunting him on the video she made. She "unintentionally," but neglectfully allowed him to slowly suffocate to death. In summary, she killed him. Suffocation is a horrific way for someone to die. The person who died on impact getting rear ended was fortunate compared to Jorge. This case, regardless of how long Sarah drags it out, or how long the justice system slowly rolls forward, will not turn out good for Sarah. She talked too much the day she unzipped Jorge, and then the following day during the interrogation that showed her true colors. No remorse, and such a strong effort to downplay and distance herself for her homocidal negligence.

I know at one point she references in her letters (maybe the like 4 or 5th letter?) that he was recovering from a back surgery at some point but I think the court would know if he passed away given that he's a public defender and works in the same courthouse as the judge and likely has other cases in front of the judge. The real problem is I think he's neglecting the case specifically to get forcefully removed. Because he asked to be removed from the case back in like January or February and got denied because of how many other public defenders she's gone through.

I personally think there should be specific minimal requirements for contact. Your firm's minimums sound fair. I would add give 2 weeks max for return call, in person meeting or similar. If attorney doesn't comply, contempt with jail time sounds good. Or loss of wages. Gotta hit them where it hurts. If I pulled this in any other job, I'd be fired and have issues getting new clients. 4years, while presumed innocent is BS. Not to mention the victim's family being revictimized and withheld chance to grieve fully. I know sentencing was a huge turning point for my family with grieving. Thankfully we had to wait only 1 1/2 years, had one day long hearing, then murderers took plea deals right before pre-trial stuff started. I am sure the trials wouldn't have pushed it out much. We had a tape recording of them talking about the murder on their drive to jail. 1 1/2 hr drive, they ran to the reservation to hide. So it was a legit recording as their rights were given before being put in the van.

I imagine her recent attorney, Frank B. realized early on that the prosecution has a slam dunk case, considering all the evidence, which includes not only the self incriminating video, but interviews with Sarah's husband, landlord, neighbors, former bartenders and barflys, as well as Jorge's family and friends. Sarah contradicted herself over and over. It's clear that while she claimed to be an "outstanding" person, she actually is a neglectful mother. An abusive wife. A mooch, who used her alimony moreso to support herself and Jorge than anything else. Unemployed for 2 years prior to Jorge's death. Multiple incidents of drunken behavior on the property where she lives. On and on. A baseball bat was found near the suitcase, and the medical examiner determined Jorge's injuries were the result of blunt force trauma that happened within the timeframe of his death. Not to mention the scratch marks on his body, that were consistent with what her husband said often happened to him when they were still together. On top of the alimony she received, Sarah constantly mooched from Brian so she and Jorge could drink, when her checking account was in the red from overdrawing money to drink with. She neglected her son on a regular basis by forgetting to pick him up, or even calling Brian to "cancel" her time with the son. Sometimes she wanted to end her visitation early so she could party with Jorge, and called Brian. Man, she played Brian hard. Used him, and had him on standby to cater to her, all while Brian supported both Jorge and Sarah. It's pathetic. She portrayed herself as "outstanding." Yep, she stands out alright. It will all come out at the trial. Meanwhile, let her focus all her energy on how unfair the justice system is. That just means the reality that she killed Jorge will hit her harder when the verdict is read.
