REAL TALK: Interview with Former Jehovah's Witness 

Exactly!!! I used to cry during the group for service. I would cry in the washrooms at the back of the Kingdom Hall. And the solution over many decades, is do more bible reading, preaching, praying with my husband (exhusband), etc. Finally, in my forties, I started on anti-depressants. I have clinical depression. Then my husband used to tell me that taking anti-depressants were a bandaid for my REAL problem. So I got rid of my real problem and divorced him!

This was so on point. I left at 19 and went back 15 years later. I thought I was doing the right thing and faught to be baptised. After being told by a brother that ran the assembly hall that Jehovah didn't love me due to having a worldly boyfriend. I kept going and became baptized. After baptism, I started noticing many off and odd things. My baptism was the beginning of the worst mistake of my life but also my awakening period. Thank Goodness I observed and woke up.

In 2005 I had a hysterectomy, the doctor woke me out of surgery and said your flossing blood fast you need to rethink blood I said get the machine to recycle mine so he did. I got mersa from the machine which almost took my life as well. I was by myself and when I called my mother and told her the doctors can't believe I'm alive from losing so much blood, she said huh there is some one who needs me right now and hung up the phone. She never did have love that's why this organization is a fit for her. I feel shocked that I'm just seeing g this.Thank you for your help. Agape

I follow my own religion from within. I read the bible, apply what I learn, and share with others. Jesus is the only mediator needed, otherwise go non-denominational.

Thank you so much! First-time listener. This was much-needed information that came to me at a time that has been quite challenging. I have a MA in English, and 3 other writing/computer degrees, so am very well educated, as Wes is, and left for doctrinal reasons, as well as for good plain old common sense reasons. I have been disassociated for 16 years, but the long arm of the WB&TS still reaches into my heart and causes pain. My son and daughter-in-law and small gradsonn (as well as my parents and brother) are still in the Truth. They had been allowing me to see my grandson (off and on depending on how strict they decided to follow the rules that year), and called me Monday to tell me that I could no longer see him. He has been asking for me repeatedly...but they have not responded to my texts or phone calls until this past week. I was told that he has started commenting at the meetings (he is 4), and that he can now no longer have association with me. His constant requests for me have caused them to make a hard stand and it has been heartbreaking, but your show was recomended by my ex-husband once he heard this, and I decided to listen. I'm glad I did. I feel so much better. I just hope that my grandson, who is very intelligent, will soon begin questioning and come up with his own conclusions. In the meantime, I'm wondering what they will tell him? It will most definitely be a lie, which is contrary to their beliefs. They may tell him I don't love Jehovah - WRONG, or that I'm dead -- well I do consider myself "one of the walking dead!," or that I just don't love him anymore -- all would be lies. Time will tell. I will make sure to listen again. Thank you for this comfort in a great time of need. I was brought into the organization at 5 by my mother, baptized at 12, and left at 39. The stories we could all tell would probably make peoples' heads spin...it's nice to know we are not alone.

I really enjoyed listening to this discussion that you had with Wes! It was outstanding. You are correct.....If Jehovah's witnesses could have discussions like this it would be all over for watchtower. Thus the reason for the shunning. I get it. They want people to feel isolated and alone. No independent or critical thinking is allowed by this cult. Great job Lady Cee, JT and Wes!

Thank you for doing this interview. I loved listening to the reasons why I believed such rubbish! It made me laugh and really cheered me up. Raymond Franz book also had a profound effect on me. Regarding the points you mentioned about the amount of teenagers that are leaving the organisation, My son, who is 22 and left when he was around 15 told me that all his generation google everything, If a witness called on them they would just look up the subjects on the internet. They are lucky they have the tool that we and our parents didn't have! Good for them!

I left in 2011 and my life got better. I made more money, travelled to Europe, etc. My mental health is so much better.

Marvelous conversation so many things discussed that not only took me back down my unfortunate memory lane of the many wasted years spent being a part of a mind controlling organization but have definitely reinforced my resolve never again to give a fraction or ounce of consideration of ever rejoining an establishment so full of falsehoods and back peddling JT its great to hearing you again I do enjoy Lady Cee videos and interviews but you always open my eyes to the fact of just how intoxicated I was for several years drinking the JW kool-aid thanks to you both for all the fine work you are doing!

I can so relate to the brother around the 21/22-minute mark, when he starts talking about how field service is the answer to everything. I'm in a very similar position right now as far as being considered to be a ministerial servant. I'm actually a full-time student who, for the most part, does meet the average monthly quota for time spent in the ministry. Compounded with being in school, my family struggles financially, our living situation isn't the best, and I have a sickly grandmother to care for along with my aunt and mother. Field service is oftentimes the furthest thing from my mind. Yet, when the circuit overseer comes and looks at my service records, the elders tell me I should be doing more, DESPITE everything they know is going on in my life. Ridiculous is an understatement...

This is one of my new favorite channels. Thank you! So much help, with so much skill in educated communication. So refreshing! So exciting to know some in the cult are watching, that may just get that seed planted.

I lost my faith and belief in the power of the appointments of the brothers through holy spirit when they appointed my husband ministerial servant.Then eventually elder I reasoned holy spirit has nothing to do with it he was not qualified at all.Our household was weak it appeared strong exsteranally.I was a wife that cried out for help it feel on deaf ears.I labeled it appointed by the buddy system.

I used to attend the Meeting of a very famous multilevel company that starts with the letter A, I am amazed at how much my brain was being transformed. ..wow. ..as soon as I stopped I became like a popped balloon; and when I decided to stop going to the brain wash I became experiencing the same feeling.

I truly enjoy these interviews. I have experienced the high handed attitude of the elders. I was appalled. I was losing my mother to cancer and was unable to attend meetings or to go out on the service. No one came to my assistance but called for my field service report. My mom died and I was forced to take a look at this religion. They' re cold. They are playing tennis with you all the time. You tell them your problems and they pelt it back at you. You are always not doing enough.

JT sadly what you said about young girls who believe but don't go to meetings and become the poster kid, it's so true. I pulled myself up at the last moment but I'm lucky....and I mean really lucky, to be alive.

I kept asking for a shepherding call once, and never got one. So I stopped going to the meeting and stopped going in field service. I said if I don't turn in time for 3 months I will go inactive and then they will come around. They still never came. They never knew how to deal with me.

I found your channel last night. I am so thankful that I did. I have struggled in this religion all my life. I was sexually abused as a child from the age of about 5 until the age of 16. My mother claims to be anointed and my father was a Jehovahs witnesses but he got his baptism annulled. So I was raised in the "truth". I told my mother the first time it happened and she told me to go be quiet and go back to bed. She said that Jehovah would settle it in his time. My mother also sold me to different men. I left at 19 by disassociating myself. I went back and left again . I went back again and now I am 54 and leaving again. This time for good. I wish I knew what I know now, then. I would love to talk to you and see what is the best way to tell my story so that other women don't go through what I've been through. thanks for all you do.

I heard so many times that going to college was bad. Both of my kids went to college (they never became JWs). As I told one JW woman, the JW kids who went to college and got "buck wild" were probably "buck wild" before they got on campus. I knew a lot of them who lived "double lives" and I was criticized because my kids went to college. They have degrees and they didn't get "buck wild". My son graduated with honors. I would never discourage young adults from attending college. Many of those JW young adults who didn't attend college don't have much of anything financially.

started studying in 1958, and there were no African Americans then, got baptized in 1960 and still there wasn't any Africans in back then! look back at the old pictures of assemblys , the big new York 5to7day assemblys and there are hardly any! wasn't till later, maybe the 70s that I remember they started coming in! yes, it does skrew the kids up! but I didn't realize it for many years and after 60s years they started to come down on my grandson for dating, and said he should be thrown out of the house! I said hold it , don't agree , Jesus would never treat a kid like that! elders just sat there, dumfounded and short time later ,l started researching and that was it, I knew then I was brainwashed, endedup taking my grandson in ,getting him refocest back to being a first responder and he finished his college! but yes they knew that was his dream since he was little but they didn't care, they tryed to destroy him! that's when I realized something is really wrong with this picture?? and our elders all had good jobs with all benefits and all the trimmings and so do there kids! college too! they would keep it under cover and not brag about it ! so yes, double standard all the way! brainwashing!! sad

Wow, this was the best conversation if yours I've seen so far. I can relate to him in so many ways. Excellent. I'm from the south too so I relate to JT too. I wish you could interview me but I would probably say exactly what he did.

I worked at a Nuclear plant, when I was young. A "brother" raised his voice loud enough for everyone to hear. He said, hey is that place where you work still geared for war? I said, oh yes. I test nuclear warhead detonators. I go out in the field behind the building and blow myself up. Then he got this stupid look on his face. I was on my way out of the organization anyway. So I felt I could say whatever I wanted by then.

This is amazing information. I wish I would have had this type of outlet for discussion 30 years ago. In early 70’s I new some of the information just didn’t seem right. Like disfellowshipping, like blood transfusions. Also, all worldly people are bad. Other things too. I think in general, people want to live in a paradise. People don’t want to die. However, now listening to various ExJW on the internet has shown me that the truth has not been told. Just like my father always said. Thank you for. This.

Hi JT and Lady Cee I chose a trade because of my upbringing as a Witness and have worked in my field for 35 years. I always wanted to go to college and am currently 1 year away from graduating with a degree in psychology. Of course, I'll be continuing on for a master's degree in counseling. You guys are spot on!!!! Please keep up with these videos. I love it!!! You touch on the points that I have tried to convey to my family, usually while they are disfellowshipped; only to be labeled apostate by some. I do this merely to have them think about the reasons why they want to be reinstated; mainly so they can be in association with other practicing family members. I never really had many friends in the truth, so I have never missed the alleged association. There so many things I'd like to discuss with you guys, but unfortunately it would feel like I am posting a book lol.

I just wanted to add another comment. Disfellowshipping, disassociation, and reproving never worked for me because I never willingly participated in the meeting (I overheard the elders on the committee saying when they sent me out of the room to make a decision). Additionally, I mentioned previously that I never had many friends in the truth, so I didn't miss associating with anyone. I love the point that you made in this video that how can the organization predict the great tribulation when Jesus himself did not know. It never ceases to amaze me that when I have posed this line of thought to some, they bring up the "new light". In the witness quest to disassociate themselves from other religions, the use of "their" verbiage makes me sick. Everything from the friends, who are not very friendly (at least they weren't to me), gatherings, and new light. Also, I'd like to point out that my mother forced me to get baptized as a teen. I was not ready to make such a major decision at that time. I would think "Jehovah knows that I am not ready to do this" as he knows that not what was in my heart at that time. At least not within this organization.

A great conversation ! From minute 37:42 to 43:12, No job skills; consequences of following the direction of the GB to quit good jobs; no retirement planning. Man that was profound. Correlation: Correlating interpretation, conjecture and opinion with The Word of God. Just making stuff up and signing God’s name at the bottom ! Correlating the WT Society/Governing Body with God himself: “Criticizing the WT Society is the same as criticizing Almighty God, YahWeh/Jehovah himself !” We basically follow a group of journalists, a group of writers, authors of books and magazines (of religious opinion) a publishing company. On the one hand it seems the Governing Body reluctantly (and rarely) admits that they are Not Inspired, Not Infallible and yet on the other hand profusely proclaiming that they are directed by God, guided by his Holy Siprit, that they are God’s prophet to the nations and as Mo’ Whiskey Morris declared, they’re words are “from Heaven”. Talking out of both sides of their mouth ! ! Not using the word “Inspired” but applying the definition. And so they demand that adherents follow them as if they are inspired and infallible, demanding unquestioning adherence to changing doctrines and upmost loyalty with the threat of disfellowshipping and total harsh shunning for any who are vocal about contradictions, erroneous teachings, doubts, questions, etc! ! You made some great points ! !

I had the same questions about the so called "New Light". I have said "God will not let you believe and build your life around a lie and then reconstruct doctrine and then say it is because God provided New Light. God cannot lie, has not lied and never has lied but man and organizations will mislead and lie to fit their agendas.

The political aspect and favoritism I Experienced first hand. I was from a family called Exemplary and when I came back to confess sins I was allowed back based on my parents service. I never returned.

Hello JT, Lady C and Wes, Extrapolating one's own experience is seldom helpful. To extrapolate that the majority of folks who leave or are dismissed from the WTBTS for non doctrinal reasons go into lower depths of depravity than worldly people is not backed by my own experiences. Indeed, the "depravity" is given more strength by the unreasonable rules surrounding dating and sex in the WTBTS, together with its views on alcohol and drugs. I am truly glad that you have retained your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I agree with his teachings on judgement and mercy. I would like to thank you for encouraging critical thinking. When I was younger I recall love bombing, but there was one congregation I was in in Southwestern Colorado where there was what I would call an undercurrent. There was so much division that I was not truly comfortable going.

I know a very wicked and a drunken brother now appointed as an elder in the Twi congregation in Germany , Frankfurt to be precise. That added to my conviction among other things that the selection is based on those who make many hours in the field service not the Holy Spirit

After three days of discovering these videos of ex-JW’s I know now deep in my heart I can be free of the unresolved questions and fear I dealt with growing up with JW parents. After many years of wondering what it would be like to go to college, I enrolled, studied and after years of life changing events, I received an associate degree. I’m now a semester away from my bachelors degree and WILL be continuing to pursue my masters degree. I had a passive aggressive conversation about this today with my mother who is still a JW, and five minutes into a SIMPLE CONVERSATION about critical thinking, she outright stated that she didn’t believe in it. She included that college is an absolute waste of time and could not give me a direct answer when asked if she was supportive of what I was doing. A woman, who always running to her doctor because of her bad knees can’t seem to grasp the basic logic that had that doctor she visits often not gone to college, how would she be able to function now? She also made a statement to me once that put the nail in the coffin. She stated that the entire Civil Rights movement never would’ve happened if....get this, if DR.....as in REVEREND DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING just prayed and read the Bible more.

I wasted 60 years in this criminal organization. First left in 1995 for a brief period of time, but not knowing the real truth about this degenerate enterprise, I had a guilty conscience and so returned briefly a few years later. I approached the elders in the Bay Point, California Congregation about returning to Jehovah. They were so standoffish and wouldn’t acknowledge me even though I was not and had never been disfellowshipped. When they finally spoke to me about returning, I asked them about the child molestation in Pacheco, California. They made up some excuses for paying out five million dollars settlement costs. They severely down played the ongoing problem. Keep in mind, I knew nothing about the Australian Royal Commission. Shortly there after, I was watching RU-vid and I came across exJW videos. That quickly caught my attention and I could not get enough. It all began to make sense, finally. After seeing the changes, and not for the good, the elders and publishers in that congregation basically shunned me. What a welcome back! Since then, I watch as many RU-vid videos about this detestable organization as I can find. I’ve ordered Ray Franz’s book, “Crises of Conscience” which I dare not to have read while a JW. You ex JW’s have saved what little life I have left. Thanks to all the ex JW’s out there, you are the ones that are really saving lives, not the the fake eldership like I used to be in. Thanks especially to JT and Lady Cee for showing us the real truth!
