The entire Reality What a Concept Album. The first side is sort of slow and just him warming up. At 22:22 the record flips, it's the B- side. He's in his groove, and really lets loose.
I was nine years old when I bought this album with my allowance money. It had a sticker on it that kids could only buy it if a parent was with them, and my dad went with me so I could buy it. I have always loved Robin Williams. He was a blessing to this world. I couldn't watch any of his work for over a year after his death, because I would cry just thinking about the fact he was no longer with us. He was such a breath of fresh air, and a wonderful comedian.
I bought it new too. I read years later that Robin and Neil Bogart of Casablanca records got into a studio and went on a week long coke bender while they mixed the album.
I bought this and found years and years later, his other comedy album, Throbbing Python of Love with his high school yearbook picture on the cover. When I heard this the first time, I laughed so hard that I "literally" fell off the couch. I still smile to remember. I miss him so much! Good to hear this again.
Absolutely astounding. Some of the funniest shit I have ever heard in my life. Grew up with his Comedy, as well as Carlin and Pryor…but the man was definitely in his own category.
I have loved this album ever since it was released. Every time I listen to Robin perform his brilliant comedy, I laugh till I cry, and I listen to this dozens of times. It will always be funny.
I have been listening to this album since it was released in the 70s. After all these years I still laugh. One of the funniest lines to me is a New York echo at 1{22. I don't know why it cracks me up, it just does. I just wish there had been a live video of this performance.
Funny to hear him with the faux Romanian gibberish for the Nadia bit, since he actually learned Russian later on for “Moscow on the Hudson.” Terrific movie.
Anybody out there know who Rev. Ernest Angley was- my friend and I never missed him Sunday morning and laughed so hard we feel off the couch and then ROBIN DID HIM!!!! Miss this astonishing genius...
