Part 1 of 3 videos of my 1990 Foxbody Mustang Longblock which I tear down and rebuild with the Summit Racing 302 Ford Rebuild kit which runs about $200. In this video you can see most of the dirty work before re-assembly happens. Featuring my good friend Mr. Ntorious and his mechanical help.

The original 5.0 302 H.O is one of my favorite small blocks. I remember in the early 90’s guys were getting Mustangs into the 10s with stock bottom ends. That was very impressive for that time. Off and on I have owned 5 fox body Mustangs since 1992. Great platform! I may have one left in me to make into a nice hot rod

One thing I love about the Ford 5.0 ho engine is that a side benefit of the low tension piston rings is low bore wear. I've yet to encounter a 5.0 Mustang engine that was worn enough to warrant an overbore.

15:00 my dad would make us use the gun to clean the valve areas, same technique of lifting it before starting again. doing a rebuild for 400-500 on my fox nice video👍🏼

I just used that metal flake paint and it turned out identical to the cap on my can, which is the same as the cap on your can, but not same as your colour. Wonder if someone swapped caps on ya

I've been wanting to rebuild my 95 GT for quite some time now and I'm unsure on what to put in to it. How did you make your decisions for part selection such as pistons, heads, engine internals ect and where to gain the knowledge about engine building.

Really depends on what the expected outcome is going to be for me to decide which parts to go with. Like stock vs 500hp. Track or street etc. Knowledge is from talking to others, RU-vid searches and online forums

@@TheInfamousProject Thanks for the reply, I'm thinking about doing a street build,300 to 400hp range without burning too much of a hole in the wallet as I do expect to put a good amount of money into a build like that. Also enjoying your 302 rebuild series which as put more inspiration to rebuild/modify my 302
