*Recall* 2022-2024 Honda Civic Electronic Steering(ESC), Part 1  

I agree but if it was less than enough cars for them to justify the cost of a recall for it and/or less than the cost of legal action from a class. They won't do anything unless people do something.

I have not heard of this issue with the pilot but it is possible if it has electronic steering.

There are a few things you can do. Keep bringing it in for the same issue builds a chain of repairs to lemon law it. Tell them what it's doing and explain it seems to be related to the forward camera not the steering. If they keep ignoring the problem, lemon law it. You can always go up, message honda, not the dealership tell them you are having an issue and the dealer isn't working with you. They will normally intervene because they have a reputation to uphold. Everything from there just get more dramatic so hopefully, that helps.

I'm pretty sure most companies are 3 years 36,000 miles. Very few companies do more except warranty the drive train for longer. I would figure you are probably out of warranty unless you bought if from a lot that extended the warranty or is covering you longer. In some states you have 3 day right of recision but they normally try to get you to sign away that right when you buy the car. You can always bring it in to the dealership continuously for the same issue which puts it under lemon law but not having a warranty you will pay for each dealer inspection.

@@SKPcars yes I have an appointment Monday coming up but I’m just afraid they’re going to tell me nothings wrong with it or that I’m out of warranty and I’ll have to pay to have it fixed out of pocket. It’s 160 each time for a diagnostic and I hate wasting money especially if this is something that is happening to so many other people and I’m peeved that I bought this car and it’s already having a costly issue

@UltimateSimsLover13 i completely understand. Hopefully, you will get lucky and it will just stop doing it. Which is what has happened with my car so far. The only thing the dealership did to mine was recalibrate the forward camera and that did nothing. A month or 2 passed, and it went away.

Sorry to hear that, they recalibrated my forward camera and if i turn off my aftermarket camera is works, most of the time.

What did you do? I have the same problem and they tell me the same thing.

@@DavidGuzchirak it’s now making an actual clicking noise when it gets stuck so we are assuming it’s worse , it’s out of warranty I believe , I bought it new . So I have an appointment to take it to Honda again and see what they say …. I read online a lawyer was representing people who were in accidents because of this

I have never tried cycling the steering to see if it clears it up.

We have the same issue Honda said it’s fine … it is not fine , we still feel it

No, they said they recalibrated it but it was still an issue.

I wish i had a good answer for you. Mine just kind of went away on it's own, that or they sent some update and it fixed the issue. If you have brought it in enough times for the same issue you can always lemon law the car. It might be a flaw built into that one car or something beyond what they can do to fix it.

@@SKPcarshow is the update done is it a software update for infotainment? 2023 Type R sticky steering on the freeway 🛣️ but it doesn’t happen on the B roads.

@@Reptilianoverlord-jc8mt so the update was a theory. I don't know if an update was done. mine just stopped doing it, out of no where. nothing i am aware of changed.

We have a few videos on it. My plan was isolate my aftermarket camera but it stopped on it's own a few weeks ago. I keep waiting for it to come back to finish figuring it out.

I made a few shorts on this and a long format, kind of a rant about this issue. They believe my aftermarket camera, which sends out internet signal, is interfering with my forward camera. That is causing the camera to become uncalibrated and throw my steering off. My current plan is to use isolation tape to keep their camera from coming out of calibration. I still have not done it but will soon and i will post what happens with it.

Both me and the girlfriend has similar issue but happens mostly on the highway and I went to the dealership & they basically told me they had loads of complaints about it and I have to deal with it.

@97vipa i still haven't had time to try isolating my camera. When it acts up i shut it off and gets better. This may be a bigger problem than honda wants to deal with.
