This is great. Hopefully you can make a part 2 with April, Casey, Shredder and Bebop and Rocksteady. Those are your a listers, the only other people I can think of would be Krang or Baxter or maybe even Slash and Leatherhead? I’m not crazy big into TMNT mythos and I don’t expect them to do people like Karai or a time-travel plot. lol

I grew up with the 2003 tmnt series and later the 2012 series and as the story progressed the story kept becoming darker and darker especially after reading tmnt the last ronin series.the tmnt's story is a tragedy. I want it to be lighthearted but the tmnt movies can be a darker story as it progresses. it really needs to showcase that.
The same I grew up watching the 2003 TMNT series it is great the style was great and from what I can remember great series. I started watching the Nickelodeon one it isn't that bad
While I do think Will Poulter would make a great Raphael, I did remember that you mentioned that they should all be teenagers (as in the younger side), so me personally I went with Tanner Buchanan (yes another Cobra Kai actor) but with his interactions with the other cast members would fit. Especially, his interactions Xolo Maridueña as I think the both of them could bring great tense moments as Raph questions Leo’s leadership and Leo questioning Ralph’s actions.
I audibly shouted "YES" when you said Will Poulter. I didn't know who to cast as Raph, but you NAILED it right on it's head. He's one of my favorite actors of all time, and is HIGHLY underappreciated and overlooked. I would KILL to see him as Raph in live action
That is a stellar line-up. Personally, I'd go with practical effects for the turtles. Use in-camera suits while using CGI to enhance the movie. I'd love to hear your recasting for the other TMNT characters.
That can work. Or maybe try mixing both puppetry/dummies and CG/facial mo-cap (Also, for once, can we get actual TEENAGERS for the roles?). Movies like Pokémon: Detective Pikachu and Sonic the Hedgehog got this correct. I also think this is the same effect they used in the case for characters like Rocket Raccoon (Guardians of the Galaxy) and King Shark (The Suicide Squad).
as soon as i watched kobra kai and i saw demetri (gianni decenzo) i instantly thought "he'd be a perfect donatello" and bryan ctually casted him :)..donatello is my favorite also :D

I would like to see a turtle suits again. That is one of the many reasons the old move is such a classic. The turtles fill the space the other actors can touch them.
I love who you picked for the Turtles. My suggestions: Jane Levy = April O’Neal, Alexander Høgh Andersen = Casey Jones, Martyn Ford = Hun, and William Jackson Harper = Baxter Stockman. Jane Levy looks great as a redhead, she’s bubbly but tough, and she has range like “Don’t Breathe” to “Zoey’s Infinite Playlist”. Alexander Høgh Andersen is best known as Ivar the Boneless in “Vikings”, no clue if he can pull off a Brooklyn accent, but he’s 6’ft even, ripped, and a fantastic actor who could make you believe there’s a guy who confronts ninjas and mutants with surplus sports equipment and a willingness to commit violence. Martyn Ford has mostly played bit roles in “The Neverds”, “Fast & Furious”, “Undisputed”, and the upcoming “Sandman” series. He’s a bodybuilder and aspiring MMA fighter more than an actor, but he’s been heralded as the scariest man in the world, 6’7 and nearly 300 pounds of muscle, add a purple dragon tattoo to his existing tattoos and you are set. And William Jackson Harper, from both “Jack Ryan” and “The Good Place”, would slay as the nerdy but somehow ripped mad scientist, and the actor has gone on saying he’d love to play a villain. I say let the guy get his chance to cut loose and be nefarious!

I absolutely love ninja turtles! I got into them from the 2003 cartoon, then the first movie, then the IDW Comics, then the 2012 cartoon, and so on. Would love to see a part two!
my first intro to the Turtles, aside from the live action movies from the 90's, was the 2003 cartoon, so I'd love to see who you'd cast as Baxter Stockman. His designs were always my favorite from the show.

Very interesting. My favorite adaptation is the 2012 TV series. So many things to enjoy like the characters, actors, their designs, animation, humor. I especially love how they incorporate almost everything from past adaptations and the comics and tweak on them.
Great cast for the TMNT and Splinter, Bryan. But Will Poulter is almost 30 and is a slight too old to play Raphael. Mind if I recommend Nicholas Hamilton for the role of Raphael? He’s around the same age as the other boys you casted as the turtles. Plus, he can play that hot tempered, aggressive person like he was as Henry Bowers from IT chapters 1 & 2. BTW, great job and I can’t wait for a part 2 of your TMNT fancast.
Great choices. I would love to see Keno included, as well as Angel and Hun from the Purple Dragons. Also, I'd be really interested in who you would cast in a live action Gargoyles movie.
1:54 Nothing against Leo but, if the Turtles get a reboot, I really wish they took inspiration from IDW comics and have Raph be "the protagonist". If you don't know, in those comics, Raph was separate from his brothers during the accident with Ooze and grow up in the streets. The movie could be about him finally meeting his brother (acting as the surrogate character) and learning the ninja arts, going from impulsive street fighter to more self-control warrior. At the same time, Raph could also be the one who tells the turles of crime and problems people are suffering (like the purple dragon and the foot clan) convincing them to stop hidding and use their ability to protect the city (showing that, while Raph may be impulsive, he is not uncaring and does have point behind his actions)
All of those are perfect choices. My wife and I grew up with the turtles and my son and daughter grew up with the series on Nickelodeon so the turtles have a special place in our family. We would all love to see a remake of it using your cast.

Honestly after watching Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, I think Jane Levy would be a phenomenal April O'Neil. Not just for her red hair, but also because she had the snarky attitude April always had in most of the better adaptations. I also think Mary Elizabeth Winstead would be another good casting. She has that emotional vulnerability quality in her eyes that's hauntingly beautiful, but with her performance in BrainDead, she too had that more edgier personality April had in more recent years while also being a more emotional April we've never seen that's more down to earth and a even a bit steeet-wise. Also, Jeffrey Wright would be my casting choice for Baxter Stockman. He was so great in The Batman and it would be awesome to see him as the villain in another comic book film.
@@thepubknight6144 Bale and Pascal would probably be too old as Casey since they're in their late 40s. I would cast something a bit younger, like 20s or 30s but not someone who's pushing 50. However, it could be a new and interesting interpretation of a middle-aged Casey. I mean if we can have a 17 year old Casey in the 2012 series, then why not an older Casey who's had years of experience of crime fighting for decades.
Ik hes too old but i always thought that Jensen Ackles would've been excellent for the VOICE of Raphael. His performance as Jason Todd in Under the Red Hood was superb.
Obviously Bebop and Rocksteady need to be covered, but I'd like to see your take on the ones that aren't talked about as much. For example, Leatherhead, Tiger Claw, and Fish Face. Maybe even Last Ronin in a later one. Also, love these castings. My new definitive versions of who should play each of them.

Ken Watanabe is a great choice for Splinter, but personally, he's always been my pick for Shredder. For next time, on top the obvious April, Casey, Shredder, and Kraang, I would love to see your choices for Karai, Baxter Stockman, Slash, and the Rat King.
Totally tubular. Could you cast their villains? The TMNT have a huge and fun rouges gallery but it’s always been neglected by the shredder. He’s the main bad guy in every movie except ninja turtles 3 and in the cartoons, almost all the bad guys who aren’t the shredder work for him. We need TMNT movies where the shredder isn’t the main villain or at least has a small role to play like the TMNT animated movie. I want a movie where the villain is rat king, MR NULL, or even Hun. And the movies could build up to shredder just like the 2003 show did by having the turtles unknowingly ruining his plans and he targets them out of necessity. Baxter Stockman was supposed to be the main villain of the first 90’s movie but was replaced with shredder because the technology back then was too primitive to translate his mousers and tech to the big screen. And they could take a note from Spider-Man homecoming for bringing multiple villains into the movies by making one the boss and the rest the henchmen. Like stockman could be the one to mutate Bebop and Rocksteady which would be a perfect showing of brains working with brawn. And when shredder eventually comes in a future movie, he could recruit villains that the turtles defeated in old movies like stockman and BB and RS if the writers avoid the old trope of making the villains die in every movie
Indeed. Much like Superman TMNT really has a underrated rogues gallery. If they got a reboot the villains I would love to see are 1st movie - Old Hob and Baxter Stockman 2nd movie - Shredder, with Karai, Hun and Rocksteady and Bebob as heanchmen 3rd movie - Krang (the whole plot would take inspiration from IDW comics, with turtles having to stop a war between Krang and the Foot Clan).
I just watched your recasting of Pokémon and it got me wondering about other Anime that you could recast, mainly Berserk and Dragon ball I would frankly prefer Berserk cause with the right cast it has the potential to be a pretty good series of recasts like your lord of the rings or Harry Potter videos due to how many important characters there are As for dragon ball I think I’ve always wondered what actor could be able to play Goku but I think he and Vegeta as well as other alien characters should be of a different ethnicity than the human characters who should be mostly Asian or of Asian descent
Not a so big TMNT fan, but i like TMNT. And my ideal TMNT movie is a movie who have the sillyness of the animated show. but in the same time have the seriousness of the Mirage/IDW comics (who i think that a movie based on the comics instead of the tv shows would be good).
I feel like Donald Glover can play every turtle except for Raphael. Not that I want him too, just that he’s played the role of each the turtle in his career and done a great job.
Once again suggesting a Star Trek Next Gen Kelvin-timeline recasting. Jessica Chastain could play Beverly Crusher, Allen Leech from Downton Abbey would be a perfect Chief O’Brien, David Tennant could probably play Q, and so on.
Jacob Bertrand could also be a great Raphael, since his angsty and hotheaded personality as Hawk in Cobra Kai kinda reminds me of Raphael. Edit: BTW you also missed Baxter Stockman, who was freaking wasted in Out of the Shadows.
Been following your channel for a while and I think you should do a fancasting/recasting for the Inheritance Cycle. They made the first book, Eragon, into a movie that didn't do so well but I think you might be able to do it justice. Just a thought for a series you could do.
I think some good choices for Casey, April, Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Baxter Stockman, Rat King, and Kraang would be... Dacre Montgomery as Casey Jones. The dude can really pull off the pissed off, no shit taking badass vigilante that Casey is. Natalie Dyer as April O'Neil. Her role on Stranger Things as Nancy in S3 is a good fit for April a very ambitious reporter or journalist. She can also do well as the friend of the team and a den mother figure in a way since she would be another sensible figure for the turtles. But is still open for fun. Hiroyuki Sanada as Shredder. He's a little old, but it doesn't show, and he's a great actor and can do amazing action scenes as shown in Mortal Kombat when he played the GOAT Scorpion. So I think he's the best choice for The Shredder. Brian Tyree Henry as Bebop. He's played alot of the nicer more hero like roles, but with his performance in Bullet Train, I think he could do well as Bebop. Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Rocksteady. Aaron is buff and I think could balance ruthless and comedic, also he could probably do a good Russian accent, and with Bullet Train I think him and Brian (who I chose as Bebop) could work well off each other. Chukwundi Iwuji as Baxter Stockman. I think he could do well as the genius yet kind of goofy scientist like Baxter Stockman. Or he could do a more cold and maniacal Stockman like in the 2003 series. David Dastmalchian as Rat King. Dastmalchian is a really great character, he can easily play a very creepy and manipulative character like he did in Dune as Piter. Andy Serkis as Krang. I think Andy is always a great villain actor and I think him playing Krang would be an interesting performance.
I would like the next TMNT project to be a live action TV series for Paramount+, more comic books and graphic novels are adapted to TV series like Sandman, The Boys, etc. because now the have the technology to do movie quality special effects with the length of a TV series to have a wider storytelling. Having the critically acclaimed IDW Comics as their blueprint, it could probably beat the MCU TV shows from Disney+.

I'd actually recommend Ethan Hazzard from Raised by Wolves as Raphael, he's a fresh face with plenty of talent and the energy to play angry. He also feels more like a teenager to me than Will Poulter who I actually wouldn't have minded as a Casey Jones.

This is almost perfect casting as I am sorta mixed on Will Poulter as Raphael. Dont get me wrong, he's a great actor & I think hed be great as Raphael but theres sort of a huge age gap compared to the other actors. He'd be a great Adult Raphael but not a teenager. I'd personally cast another Cobra-Kai Actor, Jacob Bertrand who plays Hawk. He's more like a Teen Raphael to me.
