Aah, this song brings back so many memories from middle school. Our Chinese teacher was an old lady who lived under the rule of both Chiangs. She loves telling stories about her life, and one of her stories was about how they were taught to sing "Reclaim The Mainland" in school. Since she would often repeat stories that she had already told us several times, this song sort of became a class meme for us. During our school trip to Kaohsiung just before graduation, our class decided to sing "Reclaim The Mainland" together on the bus, and I still remember how my teacher laughed and sang along with us.

Taiwan is the real China because it is a happy and lawful country, on top of that it is a democracy. If the PEOPLE of todays world (not the governments) were to vote on which is the real China, it would be a landslide for the ROC.

We will most likely never reclaim the mainland and may it stay that way. A lot of older Taiwanese hated the KMT, because they kept martial law running until 1987 under Chiang Ching Huo. Now most people don’t hold it for necessary to reclaim the mainland and a lot of Taiwanese are Taiwanese nationalists (want Taiwan independence) (based off the last presidential elections) Edit: Most Chinese nationalists in Taiwan want to join China instead of reclaiming it.
