It debuted on August 16th 2015 in the official celebratory gala organized by PLA and was livestreamed on CCTV (China Central TV) throughout China. It has since been regularly performed at official events within Mainland China. It was NEVER for once performed in Taiwan, given the fact it's a piece of propaganda music of PLA and CCP. 99.9999999999% of the commentators are oblivious to such basic fact. They saw the flag and the first thought was Taiwan. That first thought ended up being the only thought that was there. The video creator imposed ROC flag in the background for the simple fact it was the ONLY Official flag of the entire China during WWII, during which CCP and KMT were allies. The Civil War broke out in 1946 and ROC only retreated to Taiwan in 1949, four years after the end of WWII. During WWII, Taiwan was the colony of Japan, as it had been since 1895. 200,000+ Taiwanese soldiers fought on the Axis side. 32000+ lost their lives under the Red Sun Flag for Imperial Japan. WWII for the Taiwanese Military was a complete defeat, not victory.
