RECREATIONAL PILOT CERTIFICATE: Flying Lesson #19 - Comprehensive Flight Review
Well, I'm at that stage of my flying training where I'm just about ready for the final flight test. With that in mind, today and next week I am going to do a comprehensive flight review of everything I've learn't since the start of my training. If all goes well, I'm one step away from getting me pilots licence!
Let go flying....
ABOUT ME:
I'm a student pilot learning to fly in my spare time. I originally received 30 hours of flying instruction 17 years ago and now I'm back in the cockpit and learning how to fly all over again.
Currently flying out of Wollongong (YWOL), Australia in light sport aircraft such as the Jabiru and Pipestrel alpha with Fly Illawarra:

Recreation Aviation Australia: www.raa.asn.au/
Jabiru aircraft: jabiru.net.au/

Thank you RJW; I enjoyed this video as it is a reminder that we students do share the same experiences. I am about to sit my RPL check flight in just over one week so very timely. I hope you continue with your videos to give an Australian version among the many You Tube choices. I am very fortunate, as you are, in my training in having instructors who are relaxed, are very good at teaching how to fly and aim to build confidence in you. Good luck, happy and safe flying and keep the videos going, Cheers.

Michelle Vegter thanks mate. Glad you like the video and best of luck with your check flight. Agree about instructors...having the right instructor makes all the difference. I've flown with a few flight schools and instructors and I'm glad I did most of my training with Bruce. The whole journey has been an awesome experience.... that doesn't mean it's been easy. That's where a good instructor is worth searching out for. Plenty more videos coming....after the next one I'll have an announcement on what the future holds for me and the channel. It may or may not involve cross-country and aerobatics 😁

It's nice to see a Australian student pilot on RU-vid. I am in Brisbane and I just got my RPL last weekend. Keep up the good work!

Another great video. Look forward to Par B. Did you get to this point with only 19 lessons?

Ashley Atze thanks mate. I had two more lessons where the camera didn't record. One was in flappless circuits, and another just circuits. so 21 hours all up and a lot of study and RU-vid watching... plus countless hours in the home simulator

Ashley Atze It's just X-Plane on the computer with an oculus rift. Good for learning the basics and reinforcing a previous lesson learnt

What headset does your instructor prefer. Seems to change around a bit.

David Watherston good question. He does have a ANR David Clark best that he normally uses

I thought he may not like the David Clark DC PRO-X Hybrid ones. I am in the market for a set and am looking at David Clarke's, Bose or Lightspeed. That's why I am observant lol.

If you don't mind me asking why are you using 16 when the wind was 070 even though 16 was the closer runway ??
@richardwalter3110
@richardwalter3110 2 года назад
16 is the preferred runway, especially when the wind is light.problem with 08 is if you have an engine failure after takeoff your crashing into houses or ditching into the lake.

As a VFR pilot I thought you were not allowed to flight through the cloud or above the cloud without an instrument rating? Or are you flying above scattered cloud? I know it is 1,000ft below the cloud or 1,000ft above the cloud if you can still see the ground. Just looks like you're flying in cloud.

AussieMozzie clear of cloud below 3000ft in Class G I'm pretty sure
