this guide was pretty cool, i can't wait to use it. i'm playing synchro eldlich but im going to try using this card too. only 3 spots in the main deck isnt too bad.

When people talk about the "destroy and burn equal to the ATK" part of its effect I always refer to it as the Volcasaurus effect cz that's the oldest card I can remember that does that. This however obviously doesnt prevent itself from attacking though if ya use that

If you can bait the negation, you can use ice dragon prison to revive dark magician and then remove dragoon since its not target

at least there's a bunch of ways you can out the card now. i think everyone running forbidden droplet is the big thing, droplet wasn't released in the ocg when dragoon first came out so it was a bit harder to deal with

I would play counter traps like cursed seal of the forbidden spell to negate that red eyes fusion or play silent swordsman to negate all his spells.

Hey mate, have we gotten more clarity on a Red-Eyes Fusion ruling? If you use REF--whether from the hand or off Verte Anaconda--MUST you use a Red-Eyes Black Dragon to summon Dragoon? Or can you use any Dragon Effect monster? Would love a video explaining why or why not, because REF doesn't say you need to use a Red-Eyes monster for the fusion summon (just that it be listed), but I keep seeing rulings saying that you do because of the OCG's card text and other precedents.

Dragoon's last effect is notably a soft once per turn.

I was just looking back in my childhood memories and thinking what if they had made a fusion of Yugis and Joeys favorite cards? Or yugi and kaibas?...and hooooly shit. It actually exists and is so OVERPOWERED.

Funniest thought. Imagine the Battle City SF. Yugi would have 2 options. Dark Paladin or Red Eyes Dark Dragoon given his field. Since it was summoned on Kaiba's turn, both it and Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon would not be able to attack due to Battle City Rules. But then on Yugi's turn, use its effect to burn Kaiba for game. Could direct attack for overkill lol
