"The Context is a reverb pedal inspired by 1980’s rack mount reverbs. It has 8 algorithms, including room, hall, cathedral, gated reverb, reverse reverb, plate, spring, and a granular reverb. Version 2 adds stereo input/output, USB MIDI, fully assignable expression pedal, 3 new modes, delay plus reverb in all modes, separate high and low frequency damping controls, modulation, dynamic reverb, and infinite hold."

Among the best room and hall reverbs I've heard. The Plate sounds so good too! It's a shame blend knob was set before noon 90% of the whole video, though.

In the manual it described the modulation to be random but I couldn't really pick that up from the demo. Anyone tried turning the mix high to check the random mod out?

Thanks! I’m using different cables depending on the devices before and after the Context. I use EBS TRS cable, EBS TRS Y Insert Cable or the Hosa TRS to Dual TS Female breakout cable.

Yes it has stereo ins and outs (configured with the web editor).

@@DoNoise okay, that makes sense cuz I did only see the lone Input/Output jacks and wondered how this might be stereo. so the answer is that you edit it to function as a stereo in/out online.

Is it true that modulation sounds a bit robust and unnatural? Like it’s an effect applied and not the part of the reverb space

That’s not how I felt. The modulation is different in different modes but none of them feels unnatural to me.

If I went by your video I would have never bought this pedal. You didn't showcase this one's capabilities very well at all. First off, other than at the very end, you never had the balance over 40%. This didn't do justice to several modes particularly Gate and Reverse. Also whenever you're demoing a reverb pedal it is crucial to mention or demonstrate if the pedal can go "all wet" (the Red Panda does). You seem like a guitar player who doesn't especially like reverb and only uses it sparingly. You should assume though that at $249 or more anyone who buys this DOES like reverb. For the record with this pedal I now have 8 reverb pedals.

It’s hard to include everything in a video with a pedal like this but you’re right, I probably should have included more examples with higher mix settings. The way I approach to making these videos depends on when I’m making them. If I’m making a video to be shared on the release day I try to show as much as I can. If I’m making the video later on (like this one) then I assume that there are already lots of videos covering basic functionality so I prioritize showing my favorite sounds and applications. So it seems that I mostly enjoyed using the Context with these settings at the time. Thank you for your feedback and I’m happy that you were able to make the right choice despite my video not helping you :)

@@DoNoise I appreciate the response. I should have added that I've enjoyed the other videos of yours that I've seen. We do both agree that this is an excellent pedal and it's got me curious about the other Red Panda pedals.

EHX Oceans 12, Earthquaker Afterneath, Old Blood Noise Dark Star, Old Blood Noise Minim, Keeley Parallax, Walrus Audio Slo, Walrus Audio Lore, Lichtlaerm Audio Transendence, Meris MercuryX and of course Red Panda Context. Also two that straddle the area between reverb and delay, Boss Tera Echo and Walrus Audio Fable. Just sold an Old Blood Noise Sunlight and Earthquaker Transmisser.
