@@BullsEyE1986 in N Houston area, in TX @Jeremy D, quite a few of us YTers are in private FB groups which contain the best of the best technicians in the country, as well as UK & Australia, etc. If you find yourself needing help for certain things such as general repair, or diagnostic work, or transmission specific.... I'd be more than happy to reach out to the community to find options for you locally. I totally understand your frustration & sentiment
Oh wow!! Check you out! Mobile diag. You now do what I do?!? Excelente! If you ever need a 'known good' waveforms for Pico... lmk ! I save tons. Cam/Crank correlations, vvt switching, fuel pumo current, ect!. I use Milwaukee packout. For the waterproofness & ruggedness. 😁😊👍🏻👍🏻
No, I still do tons of rebuilds at the shop. There's some shops I help out on the weekends, specially this one now since it's a family member and he just opened up less than a year ago. I do transmission bench work for his customers and when I'm there I pack up and help him out on "non transmission related issues " if possible. I have enough of those during the week. I can't film work from the shop since it's a very fast pace environment I bearly have time for a break. I'll try to include "tales from the bench " videos again. On the waveforms I'll let you know, I had 2019 Chevrolet silverado that the Phaser was stuck I didn't have a reference waveform to compare. That's fixed, it has other issues I think I might film that one.
@@AutomaticTransmission Thank you so much Mr.Hiram! I'll be driving soon from Brownsville,TX for you to do my transmission...I trust no one else but you for transmission work...🙏 🙏
Hello - can I ask you a unrelated to this video question. I have a 2005 Ford Ranger 2wd 3.0 L trans code D which is a 5R44E. OD Off Light started flashing a couple of weeks ago and when this happened I noticed a change in the way it seemed to be shifting. Now the light has been off for quite a while but when I first drive the truck in the morning everything feels fine but it seems once it warms up the truck feels like I am driving over some very small speed bumps in the street. This happens mainly in lower gear. I also feel some vibration when I am backing up. When slowing down around a corner for example it feels like the trans is not downshifting into a lower gear and the rumbeling feeling is there. I have about 110k miles on the truck. Had it scanned with a enhanced scanner and no codes came up. I pulled out a few bushes at my house before the OD light thing and I was just wondering if any of this could be caused by a blown valve body gasket from the force of pulling out these bushes. Would a blown valve body gasket cause any of my symptoms. Thank you very much for any advise.
If it shudders in reverse more than likely the direct frictions are burned. That explains the drive ability issue you're describing when slowing around a corner and the vibration (shudder) you're feeling. If the OD light flashing you will have a gear ratio error code stored in memory. You need to look on "freeze frame" and "continuous memory" codes.
@@AutomaticTransmission Thank you for the reply Hiram. I was planning to take it to AAMCO down here in Fort Myers. Do you have any idea what I might be looking at dollar wise if they say it needs a rebuild ?? The truck is a 2005 in very good shape otherwise . I am just looking for guidance cost wise if you know what I mean.......... Thank you.
Un gran saludo Hiram desde Puebla México. Pregunta tus buenos videos de diagnóstico o reparación ya. No los puedes informar en español gracias por la atención atte.
@@AutomaticTransmission Seems like ground wires cause a lot of problems I have noticed. You did a great job on it. When I drag race some people who had problem by just looking at the motor I said run a couple of ground wires. They thought since the had solid motor mount or mid plates they didn't need them. They put ground wires on and there problem went away.
My goal was to figure out the Reduced Engine Power issue, which was found and it was corrected. But yes, plugged Injectors as well. As you saw the misfire moved with the swap of Injector position. They took care of that and corrected the bad ground to the module.
Engines are very simple, small amounts of moving parts including the components that run them. No bainer, chasing down a bad circuit or working behind someone else is a different story.
@@AutomaticTransmission Quick question if you have time. I have a 4l80e in my 2500, no slipping in gears, cooler not plugged, lines not plugged and it's getting to 210/220 tranny temp. To 250 once. Any idea off the top of your head? Shifts completely fine, and converter is locking when it's supposed to
Double check with a infrared thermometer. Could be that the temperature sensor is not working properly. I would add an external cooler after the radiator on the return line.
