Great video, I’ve just filled in NOVA for my Husqvarna fc450. But I’ve got a message back from them asking me to call to discuss paying VAT!? Any ideas before I call them?
@@motomash6143 I don’t see how that can be, because the certificate of newness states that it was built for the UK market so would have had VAT on it when it was first sold from the dealer?

Leave them blank mate. But half way down the form it asks what year the bike is, write your year of the bike. Everything else on the bottom. Part put a line through it. Fill out everything else as I have 👍
Hi I am also having trouble with the nova. I have had a reply saying declined and the reason they said was that it has to be the person who imported the vehicle who has to apply for it.

Hi mate the dvla will already be able to see the bike is nova registered so you don't need to anything regarding that 👍 you 100% need the original mot certificate. Don't forget your postal orders
Do you need to send the original copy of certificate of newness to the dvla or would a photocopy be ok? Also do you need to send the mot certificate in with the v55/5?
Hi Motomash I would start by saying great videos, much appreciated. It would seem since your videos that the NOVA process has changed in that now you are unable to proceed via the online application and must complete a NOVA VAT1 form. Am I correct in thinking that if the Certificate of Newness comes back and confirms that duty has been paid that you can miss out the NOVA step as you will send the certificate of newness with your V55/5? Much appreciated
Hi mate, I only registered my kx125 a couple months ago using this process and I'm also in the process of helping others to register there bikes using the online nova application. This process worked for me in September 2021. Also your certificate of newness is just a dating certificate which only shows the date your bike was manufactured. It does not prove weather the tax was payed on the bike. The only way to do this is to fill out a nova application via the hmrc website. You will need your certificate of newness (dating letter) as they will need to see it upon request. You will also need to send the certificate of newness along with all your other paperwork to the dvla and wait 6 weeks or so for your logbook
@@motomash6143 hi mate, further to this I’ve managed to create an application on nova. On the question which asks when the bike was made available to you, do you put before 31/12/20 as it won’t let you proceed without this? Thanks
