I'm a 78 yr old lady trucker and happened on your video. Sure don't miss those oversize loads. They put you in some awful places. But as usual a excellent driver & pilot cars get the job done. Definitely enjoyed watching. Thank you 😊 🤗🙏❤🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I’ve actually had the pleasure of seeing your convoy as I was heading south coming from upstate New York heading back to Jersey… Seen your trucks on the road many times an I’ve always wanted to get into heavy hauling. I drive a Tri-Axel flatbed an haul marble, granite and quartz, 9x’s out of 10 I’m fully loaded at 80k which is on the low end of the heavy haul business. But this here, this is my calling. Just wish there was a way to get my foot in the door so I could learn and get some experience. I alway hear companies saying they want experienced drivers but in today’s world. No one is willing to train anymore like they did in the golden yrs of trucking.
There are lots of good heavy haul companies out of New York and New Jersey. STX, Silk Road, Pedowitz, Super & Sons, Bay Crane, Izzi, De Mase… I guarantee you somebody is hiring. But you gotta be ready to start back at the bottom and work your way up. They will give you a chance with small loads and as you prove yourself the loads will get bigger. Good luck ✌️
You and your team are like a well oiled machine on how well you comunicate and work together in moving this equipment. Thank you for taking us alongand riding with all of you. Thank you for the extra effort in translating french to english and adding the captions flrthose of us that dont understand french. It was a great trip for us. Thanks
Thanks for taking us along again Doug. I know there’s allot of work we don’t see with you capturing footage, editing etc. I appreciate it. Nice to also see you and your dad at the same company. Growing up my daughter was with me all the time, her Nik name was bunk freight and she’s now a driver as well hauling cars.
Love your videos Doug. I drove 15 years here in the states, pulling 53' boxes and tankers. My hat is off to you all pulling those oversized loads and making it look so easy. Very professional and I like the way you always compliment your escorts. Drive safe out there Doug and keep on truck'n. God Bless you all.
Well guys I've just sat and watched a real professional crew at work. Watched a fee like this and so far you're hands down the best. Ex driver myself here in the UK,but nothing close to that, but I can appreciate the difficulties on a trip like that. For the most part other drivers were courteous and would wait without issue. I'm only driving rc trucks now, have up driving to look after the wife as a carer. Will be watching more of your drives,oh and norman, your a star, clean clear instructions. You pretty much backed that load all the way! Keep it shiny side up!
Your collection of different trailers and the number of them you have is amazing. Leaving Newark with an oversized load always seems really difficult, sort of amazing the city of Newark would work toward coming up with a more straight forward method of getting oversized loads out of the port - but I guess they aren't the ones that have to drive the trucks so they don't really care. Always amazing the teamwork. Thank you. Enjoyed the long entire video.
I’m lucky to play with all this different equipment. It helps put out different video content. But sometimes I’d be happy sticking with the same thing for a while. I’m a perfectionist and it’s hard to be perfect when you’re always changing.
Great watching your vids. THANK YOU for the great ride, even though it was by video. Would have been nice to see the delivery side of this trip also. Keep putting out these great haul videos, love watching them. LOL, have watched this one twice now and have enjoyed it both times.
I am impressed with your skills and the teamwork it takes to move these long loads. Excellent video editing....... you had me on the edge of my seat through the entire trip. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, Doug, for another great video. The careful editing of views from multiple cameras makes for very enjoyable viewing. It was fun watching the steerable trailer since we see so few of them here.
Another great video! Props to Dad and his new truck. I’m sure he’s very proud to have you running alongside him. Really enjoyed to dock footage. Great seeing all that specialized equipment. Thank you Doug.
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Can you do a short rundown on your tractor unit if or when you find time...a look inside...under the hood..the DD 15/16 etc and what you think of it in terms of pulling power reliability maintenance etc...watching from down here in New Zealand...love your vids bro keep em comin!
What a team, your escort team are awesome especially your rear escort, Norman is it, does a wonderful job steering the back end…guess you couldn’t do this job without these guys.
Just found the channel and am impressed with the editing of the videos. As an old truck driver from Sweden, it is exciting to see how it works in other countries. This is without a doubt the best on You Tube.
Thank you for the compliment 😊 In Europe your equipment is much different than ours and in my opinion you are more advanced. It is neat to see the different styles of equipment around the world ✌️
I really enjoyed how you managed the situation turning right onto park. Asking both pilot cars to head to the rear to stop traffic from rolling up on you. The one pilot car disagreed and gave his opinion. Almost appeared to me that you may have been slightly irritated with his response. Lovely to see you take a few seconds to compose yourself before responding with a clear, thought out response. No need for yelling, no need for arguing. Seems like your call is the final call. The disagreement was cleared up and decisions were made. Great patience by everyone involved!
In these situations the truck driver almost always has final say. But I’m open to ideas from all team members. It’s easy to get irritated but he’s only trying to help so I had to take a second and compose myself. It happens 🤷🏼♂️
Brilliant drive Doug. As you were driving across the dam, it just looked really bleak, with the water, brown undergrowth, snow and nobody in sight. It just looks very cold. I thought Dartmoor here in the UK couldn't get bleaker, but that place does it. Also both Norman and JT did a great job🤣.
I really like how everyone compliments each other and eggs each other on. It is kinda rare to see this level of team spirit because everyyone knows that dissident and arguments is what people like to see. Brilliant display of teamwork in action. Keep on truckin'!
It’s not all about me (the driver). This kind of transport is a team effort and I’ll be the first to admit a well oiled team makes my job a lot easier!
I’m just amazed of how you get around with those oversized loads great job Doug l only ever pulled a couple of stretch loads to New Orleans that was it
Love watching oversize loads being hauled, you guys definitely know how to drive. Retired 3 yrs. ago, but at 1 time carried money, general freight and explosives and that was nerve racking, but money was good.
That was a great video! It really shows the teamwork needed, all the different rules and regulations you have to deal with and how you are routed. I was surprised to see where NJ sent you when you left the port.
That backup maneuver there at thee end certainly demonstrates the benefits of the steerable rear axles. Absolutely amazing1!!!!!!! Ye Ole Caterpillar Cowboy takes his hat off to you and your team......
i really like watching you seem to have vry much respect and appreciation to your transport crew work very well together and the paying attention to every traffic hazard is very nice to see from heavy transport
Nice work guys! I’ve trucked through some of that area near Newark too. I take my hat off to you-dealing with tight streets and four wheelers crowding you cause they are in a hurry or in their own little world. Nice channel; keep the videos coming please.
i am a old dutch trucker of 80 but a deep repect for you boys and team well done i am very praud of you keep on trucking much greetings from holland and a merry christmas
Surprised that there aren't better access roads from the port to the interstate. One would think that would be a priority. Really enjoyed going on this adventure with you. Thanks for sharing your world with us.
I owned a Cozad back in the Alaskan Pipe Line days Hauling huge Pumps, Separators and Generators mostly. But hauled Conduit Pipes for the Golden Gate Bridge in the 1990's I was one of the Only Drivers aloud to back into where they unloaded the huge Pipes. We hauled it from Napa California Iron to the Golden Gate
great video and looking forward to visiting montrea to this this rapid trasit rail system in action! i see the rolling stock is by a french company. curious if the units were assembled there or elsewhere... looks like a challenging project so great job🍻
Good day. Having the steerable axles at the back of the that trailer must have been a god send. Looking at the wagons in the yard I never knew how diverse Bellemare's trailer fleet is. But you have to drive faster in the yard. I was getting bored. LOL BTW, one of my friends at Keen posted a pic of 1 of 3 all electric trucks at Carlisle being prepped to be sent to Savannah to work. Appear to be Cabover Volvo's. Savannah is already building charging ports for them. They are working under a federal grant system whereas for each diesel engine destroyed $X.XX will be granted. Work hard, drive fast, speed safely. 😆 Have a good day
A non steerable trailer at 137 feet is just crazy!!! For sure the technology is steadily improving but it will be a long time before we see electric trucks on long distance transport. They just don’t have the endurance. I can see a lot more local delivery fleets using electric in the near future.
@@Jimmie16 ...and, the potential risk for damage to the vehicles being transported is far greater too. Contrary to Europe, the railways in North America are good for bulk shipments of products that don't mind a scratch here or there.
Hey Doug that was an awesome video liked your dads 990 just watched the whites truck stop tour video and had the pleasure to meet you we were in the Tacoma pick up !!!
We sure will and until the next time we will keep watching the videos please give a shout out to your pilot car crew they are top notch !! Safe travels pete & Carl !!
Very nice. I like the longer videos. On top of the western star 4900sf, I see a Peterbilt 378?, and I believe I saw before a Kenworth w900?. As I mentioned in a different video, I want to build a model of these trucks. Unfortunately no model manufacturer does the WS4900sf. They only do the ws4964, the constellation and one other. Have a wonderful weekend Doug.
Like your videos man, I used to move the big stuff, now I just move farm equipment, 20 T880 450 X15 10 speed Allison Advantage with a 35 ton Cozad slider, you're a pro dude!
Calgary has it easy... they come in on a CP car, and there is a switch where they just jack the cars up, pull the heavy rail car out from under and drop it on the rail (both rails are the same width, and then they have a switch to take it to the light rail, which is right beside it. Seen the light rail car on the train car, seen it in the spot on with no train car, then it was gone... Sadly, never saw it being worked on!
Yeah it’s too bad the technology hasn’t caught on more in North America. Very common in EU. But at 137 feet long it would be crazy not to be steerable!
There is a guy in the US who claims to be "The number 1 RU-vid Video Heavy Hauler". I'll call him on that because I think you are number 1. Your trips are definitely more challenging than what I see on his channel.
I never set out to be #1. I’m just proud of what we do and I like to share it. I’m lucky that we do a wide variety of different loads and it allows me to put out different videos.
I’ve been trucking for over 30 years and have pulled twin 48 liquefied gas tanks out west and the last 6 years doubles and triples for UPS but when I grow up I want Doug to train me on how to turn corners…. And drive like a professional, It’s like art, except for that freakin squeaky clutch pedal😂
@scottfisher2814....the squeaky clutch pedal proves that Doug is using it, because he believes in the principle that "if God had meant for a truck to be shifted without a clutch, He would have given it an automatic tranny" (at least, that's what I tell my drivers).
What a very impressive finely choreographed dance! Nice work gentlemen, plenty safe and not a scratch on it I bet. I'm sure it's a great treasure to be working with your Dad! Not many get to do that, and some wouldn't want to anyway lol. I used to run a lot of NY with a dump wagon, sometimes with hazmat, later on around home I moved on to heavy and oversize so I am wondering what your route was that took you to Messina! I assumed you were headed for 287 on the south side. Thanks for the videos, I enjoy any length of video, it reminds me of the good days. Be well, and stay safe.
Yes very privileged to be working alongside dad 😊 Highway 37 across the top of New York through Massena is the best route for very high loads. These trains are 14’11”. We go that way to avoid the low bridges in Albany.
we see at 22:02 the load Landing" on the flatbed and the "wheel-chock" on the LHS being screwed in snug. We then see that tool operator go to the other end of the load, and WAITED until OMG finally he's on the RHS after the load has already been tensioned. Well at least that job's been eventually done, and the wheel chocked.
