Remove & Replace Camshaft Seal | Toyota Camry 5FSE Engine 

It takes a woman to make something easy. I've watched so many videos, all by men. Every one was different and looked so difficult. I even called a repair person because I decided this job was going to be too much. A friend found your video and I am extremely impressed! Thank you so much! My friend and I are going to replace my camshaft seal. I love this!

The best diy vid of replacing a toyota cam seal that i found, Unfortunatly i still got those new seals leaking on my 3sge gen 3 engine after replacing them in almost the same way like you did in the video. The only thing i did different was adding a tiny bit of rtv sealant on the caps (where the toyota mechanics told you to not put sealant) And i used some engine oil instead of the pink toyota grease I will need to try this again but this time i will take out the cams with the seal still on to see if i might have had the sealing lip bent, if thats not the case then i will inspect for a groove in the cam where it meets the seal. If that looks ok then i will measure it out too see if the cams are bent. I will get new sport cams If the 2 last problems are the cause of not sealing off

Is it ok to install the camshaft seal first and the retaining cap next? I have seen in most videos that they assemble everything first and install the seal last. There is not enough room around camshaft seals on my car (Peugeot 406). The area is so tight that I can't use a hammer to install new cam seals. Can I use your method to install my camshaft seals? I was also thinking about using the camshaft sprocket bolts as tools for installing cam seals (with a proper washer and a big socket).

i did everything wrong. screwdriver, hammer, and scratched the cylindrical surface. How do I fix it? Polish with fine sand paper? In my defense, the seal was baked into the upper part and the rubber disintegrated..

Hi, thanks for video. I'll be tackling TB and WP on my 97 Celica, 230,000 miles. Got all of the tools and parts I need. I'm pretty confident about being able to do it. Have oil pump seal and gasket. Also cam seal. Do you have a video of cam shaft sprocket removal? One thing that worries me is spinning the cam with the TB removed. With this in mind did you loosen the cam sprocket with the belt still on, you could then tighten back up enough to get TDC etc. Did not think about the cam shaft seal, I guess you'd recommend doing this even though there is no leak? One other thing, my Aisin kit comes with instructions. Turning the belt a couple of times at the end of the job differs slightly based on whether the tension spring is green or silver? All of the videos I've seen show a silver spring so I'm sure my car will be no different but just curious to know why a spring color would make a difference, lol.
