Renaissance Man and Bro React to Home Free - Listen to the Music 

Home Free has always been known keep the respect for the original artists with their music and put their own spin on it.

Home Free is the real deal. The beatboxer, Adam, is incredible. He can do drums, scratching, harmonica, castanets, all kinds of sounds. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so the can sing super low and then sing up with the tenors. The lead in this was Austin, the high tenor. Austin and Tim write most of the group’s originals when they’re not singing covers. Chance is the baritone/bass (he’s the newest member from 2016), and Rob (glasses) is the lead tenor and has a beautiful voice. Helplessly Hoping, Folsom Prison Blues, Country Roads, What We Ain’t Got, In the Blood. Good reaction bros. 😃

There are multi tracks, but all them. I love the "banjo" track, probably done by Adam Chance.

I grew up on classic rock & am a big fan of the Doobie Brothers & had their albums. "Listen To The Music" was a big hit for them back in 1972. Love that Home Free is keeping this great music alive & introducing it to the younger generation. The guys did a really nice job of this song. Austin was great for the lead & loved the background harmonies of Rob, Chance & Tim's bass. Adam killed it on the vocal percussion again. He always comes up with some new & interesting sounds. Adam is doing the high notes as you can see in the slowed down section.

There may be better beat boxers but I don't think I've heard any one that can touch Adam's vocal percussion. Add Tim and Chance's bass line, and you have a rhythm section that is sublime. Adam does a solo at every show. He uses a looper and creates a whole song with just himself.

It's amazing that the Doobie Brothers used guitars, two drum set, keyboards, vocals and other instruments to create this iconic song and 50 yrs later HF made it a classic once again using only Adam and their own vocal talents. Loved all the sounds Adam added especially that high note at the beginning and during the breakdown. He looked like he had a great time making this video and am sooo glad to see the bandanas are back.

Absolutely enjoyed the banter! Austin and Rob (the tenor and high tenor) released Nessun Dorma on Austin's channel today. They did a fantastic job. Rob blew my mind with his operatic style. It wasn't the most powerful and moving rendition but it was certainly impressive to hear what these two county fellers did with it. Hugs from Alabama 💜

Home Free is admired by top notch performers. Kenny Rodgers did a song, Children Go Where I Send Thee, with HF. Don McLean did a newer version of his classic American Pie with them. They received a standing ovation when they opened for Reba MacEntire. Sean Stockman of Boyz II Men was a big fan when he was a judge on the Sing Off when they competed and won season four. Also Diana Ross is one of their fans. She had the group perform for her seventieth birthday.

I've seen drummers on reaction channels say Adam Rupp not only sounds like a real kit, he knows what he's doing with his hands. Maybe because he studied Jaz drum.

Everything these guys put their talent to is phenomenal. They knocked it out of the ball park yet again. Austin's voice rang out so beautiful and strong he could knock drones out of the sky. The harmonies were as rich and tasty as a Thanksgiving dinner. Tim's beautiful bass line was simple, but inspired. Adam's beat boxing/vocal percussion was next level, insanely good. He keeps adding new and interesting elements to his repertoire and the accuracy of his drums is awesome. The Doobie Brothers had a plethora of instruments including 2 drum kits to create this song. Home Free made magic with just their 5 voices. Pretty impressive. Thanks for a great reaction.

Yes, there's some layering in their studio versions, because they can and it adds to the fun of studio recordings compaired to the live shows. As for videos of Adam Rupp competing there are none, because he doesn't compete, although there's a false rumor going around that he's a two time world champion. Those videos are his solo during Home Free concerts. It's would he does every show, not just a single routine for a competition, which makes it even more impressive to me. I'm sorry you were getting not so pleasant comments from the "fans", that's not a part of the actual true Home Fry community. Really something for Home Free. So great sung, so great harmonies, bone-feeling bass, But for me it's Adam who makes it truly phenomenal. He nailed it. The vocal percussion is just inhumane. Darren Rust recorded and mixed this song he has also arranged many of the songs these guys do but on this one he applied many of the same effects but to the vocals.

Each vocal "instrument" in this five phenomenal young men IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS ! The High Tenor ( lead here) is INCREDIBLE, the Bass TWO NOW actually are mind blowing and The Mid Tenor (Tenor2) is as pearly smooth and great as a human can be ... the Beat Boxer is FAR FROM OTHERS in mad skills ! You mentioned Iowans getting bigger on fried butter. Lol! Where are you from in Iowa. I'm about an hour east of Cedar Rapids. Great reaction! You mentioned Home Free being uplifting. They generally stick to positive messages. But they don't shy away from sensitive social issues either. A few of those would be Everybody Walkin This Land(please make sure to listen to Tim's message at the end), One Voice ft Billy Gilman(the original singer), Brother's in Arms, and Undivided. There are more, but these are a few of their more serious songs.

I live in Goldsboro North Carolina, just an hour away from Wake Forest. North Cackalacky, is a great place to live. I listen to some home Free live along with their recorded stuff. The live version are okay, but it's usually taken from someone's cell phone so you don't get the full feel of what they're doing. And of course production helps in studio recordings, not to enhance the singers, but to bring more clarity to the production. The guys at 307 reacts talked about how production brings out the best of the singers, plus production usually subtracts things from the recording and not add things to it. Hope your brother joins you for more reactions it was fun to listen to the banter.

recommend "drum solo" by Adam. It's all him, and it's live. One take... amazing...

To be fair, the vids are lime 99.9% in tune, and the live concerts are not. So it's a trade off. Fabulous energy and fun at the concerts. Pretty much perfection on the vids. BTW, before anyone yells at me, while I'm a mostly out of practice musician, I am not a vocalist and could absolutely not stay on pitch an entire song a capella. I tend to go sharp. But I can here it when the pitch goes wonky.

Hmmmmmm --- LOved it!!! Then again, there are only a few that has taken me some time to adjust; truly listening -- I'm taken aback by!!!! Fully appreciate these guys. Their covers are beyond amazing ---- NOT leaving out their ORIGINALS by any means. Covers really, should be enhanced - HF does that in most every case. I have a "Country Ear", it's what is pleasant to me. The Sound of HF just rattles me. Well what they have is rare....... The ONE SONG PERFORMANCE -- was HOW GREAT THOU ART in Kearney MO... The doobie bros was great. But the cover song by Home Free was amazing, especially the Intro and in the middle the tunes were ethereal as if it was sung by angels or some celestial beings taking us into a dream like state. Hypnotizing tunes. And Adam was awesome along with others,even Austin. And with due respects to the doobie bros, the performance by Home Free was far better and out-of-this world, angelic!

I grew up with the *Doobies. Listen to the Music* isn't one of the songs I liked by them. And I don't care for covers of this song either. Just a song I do not like. Guess it was all those K-Tel type records that I brought which had this tune on it instead of *Jesus Is Just Alright.* A tune which I liked much, much better.

This is kinda funny that you thought your brother would not like Home Free. I watched a channel do a reaction to Man of constant Sorrow. The on guy hated it before it even started because is a-cappella. He said NO instruments? That is NOT music. And he made fun and ridiculed all the way through the song. The other guy liked it, but evidently the AH has control of their reactions because he said Home Free will NEVER be on their reactions again. I mean he went into with a total closed mind.
