dont tell that to the governor, he thinks the opposite and little does he know that MANY are leaving because of his politics.

You can thank the Florida Legislature for this mess. It only acts or tries to do good when it does not cost anything in the state budget. The condo inspections are an example. It cost the home owners but the state nothing. It lets the car dealers charge fees that are double every where else. VW credit can not sell you your lease buyout directly, it has to go through a dealer. Morgan and Morgan are getting rich on accident claims. Everyone gets a lawyer which we have to pay for. The legislature has to take some risk and offer state supported hurricane insurance. The state should do some kind state income tax to fund the weather risks of living in this state. If it did a 1% income to fund re-insurance, it would be cheaper in the long run. There is a limit to just how much fresh drinking water we can take from the Florida Aquifer. Just wait for the fight between the current residents and the developers when you don't have enough water to go around. Who do you think the legislature is going let win that one.

I wouldn't move to Ocala. Very little to do, no nightlife, and no beaches.

Ocala is on the rise because its contextually affordable and people are moving there due to the location of the SNAP, Section 8 and USDA office.

Just I thought what would happen. More and more people will move further inland in Florida or out of the state entirely.

FLORIDA IS A HOT SPOT TO MOVE TO!

No one can afford to live hear anymore!! Housing/rentals is beyond ridiculous!! Home owners insurance has skyrocketed as a result of insurance companies leaving the state. All you can get is citizens which is state funded… property taxes have gone up 40% in the last 2 years alone… average home cost in Florida start at 375,000.. average rent 2,500.00… it’s all a screw job!!

Moved to Florida 11 years ago. Hate it hate everything about it. The weather is disgusting. It is so hot for so many months you can’t even go outside and you can’t breathe. You have to watch for hurricanes from June to November. How ridiculous is that. The governor is a horrible person and the law they pass are alarming. In addition, they’re still fighting the Civil War down here.
