Ah yes a new vehicle has wandered onto this channel! Its a 1977 Ford F250 XLT Ranger 2WD Auto with the 460CI big boy motor! It sat for 17 years due to an engine fire. Will it start and run after 17 years? Spoilers! No haha. It will take many episodes to get it back on the road. It was too nice and complete to use it for parts. I'm down for the cause if you are. So I fired up Lil' Tugger and went out to snatch it from the grips of its grave. Lets GOOO!

My uncle had a 77 F150 that he drove forever. Even when other people were buying new trucks, he still faithfully drove old reliable. Then he gave it to my cousin (his son) and we rode in it in high school. Very cool! Reminds me of the one he had. 👍😎 Can't wait to see what's next! Thanks for sharing!

Someone was really Billy big-riggin in that sweet old Ferd! Big block, extended cab, huge full floater axle, 16" rims with way too many lugnuts, extra antennas and tow mirrors galore! As a certain peglegged Ford connoisseur said (probably): "you don't need good wiring". He may have had a few Fords on fire more or less.

For my 1977 I have 3 different tail gates and I didn't know what one came with the truck , now I know , the one with all the crome ...it's to bad because my 77 got new paint about 8 months ago by my dad who didn't know or care if it had the right gate so I guess I'll have to try and match the new paint

Oh well I’m glad you were able to figure out the right tailgate! Stinks about the color though! A reputable auto body shop, should be able to match that up👍🏼

I have a 1977 f150 4×4ranger short box I think it has a automatic c6 Trans...it sat for 10, 15 years in the garage, just got it running engine seems to run ok ...transmission not so good it dropes hard into reverse and first gear I doant think it's going into drive , the symptoms say it's a bad vacuum modulator it's in the shop right now dtove it there hopefully it's just the modulator ....then I'll see if the 4×4 works if Trans is good if all that is OK I'll rebuild the front end all the steering gear is wore out body is in great shape no rust no dents but need some trim parts

@SwedeMachine yes no rust no dents..new paint about 8 months ago , just got the engine running after sitting 10+ years engine runs good mechanic said carb is working fine sorting out the Trans mechanic thinks it's the vacuum modulator that's making it drop into first and reverse hard if Trans proves to be in good working order then I'll see if 4×4 workes on it if it does I'll slowly get it all worked in ....then I'll rebuild the front steering components replaced .... breaks are ok ...then I'll drive it and get new crome trim , old trim is not in good shape broke and bent some of it when the body got painted ....I just wish my dad would have cleaned and painted the engin compartment when he had the fenders hood off...he got to old to work on it , and I want to get it running driving good so I can take him for a ride befor he passes on ...he is not doing very good he just lost his wife and he is old with health problems

That’s funny. No I I heard that phrase from one of my co workers back in oh 2013 I think? I haven’t worked for that company since 2015 so it’s been that long. Who knows how these things start in the 1st place lol
