I am so sorry you had to experience that. Thank you for sharing and thank you for the amazing job you do. The first cut is always the deepest in horrific life circumstances. Thank you for your service to the community. My best to you and yours in life.
This is so real. In LE you see so many traumatic events you never really have enough time to cope with one at a time. Death by a thousand papercuts is the best way to explain it.
God bless those that serve selflessly. I know I will never be the same after the call of duty. May you find peace my brother. God bless your wife for being everything you needed when you needed it.
Thank you for sharing this story. I know from experience the difficulty to do so. I also know from experience that talking about past trauma is the only way to heal. Praying for you!
This has been very traumatic for me I wish they would of let me know before this story ran I am the boys mother and the gruesome details in the story some of which we did not know or need to know. My heart goes out to Officer Donnelly and the rest of the First Responders that day but could it not have been written with some sensitivity to us
I am so sorry for your loss. Nobody, family, first responders, nobody should have to deal with situations like this. I've been involved in things similar and will never forget and will always have to deal with it. My heart goes out to you all.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. More than words can say. I can't believe they didn't inform you of this. Wait, yes I can, smh. Really WS !? Aside from it being the responsible, considerate, and professional course of action, the humane thing would have been to at least have the common sense to contact her. How many years have we been asking you to, at the very least, allow us to cover the licence plates of the MVA's prior to shooting ? Too many !! Like the daughter that found out from social media that her parents home had just exploded in Leamington, taking both lives. All for what, "the story" ? Screw your stories. Be a human. Again, I'm sorry that you had that experience J. 🙏
I’m sorry but it’s really suspect that you are the survivor. And why would you listen to details if you were? This man suffered as much as you. Out of millions of videos you just happen upon the exact same one that you experienced??? And by the way, this video does way more good than bad by educating individuals.
@@persevere6326 Highly suspect lmao I know this man he has met with my family He also did not know I and my family were not contacted first. Yes, he has also gone through hell and continues to fight through it daily. Please don't comment on what you know nothing about SMH Did you really needed to post on my comment that was over 3 yrs old Thanks for bringing me back here again :(
The problem I’ve been having is actively watching the degradation of society and not doing anything about it. Watching children being murdered by their parents, gangsters murdering innocent people, women being raped and kidnapped, everyone committing suicide, families broken, children doing drugs, constant violence to a degree that I don’t know that’s been seen before. Maybe (sodom/Gomorrah). I just stand back and watch. Nothing changes. No one learns. Sailor Jerry helps. Seems to be the only thing that does help these days. Gets worse everyday.
I feel you brother I had 17 days sober off alcohol and saw some messed up shit on the ambulance and I drank tonight, it's so hard to care or try to care when no else can be bothered to care or do the right thing. We gotta keep fighting though man we have to
Our subconscious dose record events there is a reason for that it’s a like putting a file away in a filing cabinet and marking it important. This is a graphic and visual world we live in and human beings are not very nice creatures. It’s our human traits that cause destruction, and chaos in this world. Our life decisions and just cruel blatant evil we perpetuate on each other whether it’s physical or Psychological. The human is not a good creature and when you learn to except this fact you can train your brain into excepting the things we see on a daily bases. You have to understand that this is a world where things go haywire. Most of this ugliness is caused by humans themselves. As long as we have humans on this planet we are going to witness their ugliness. 🌟🇦🇺⭐️😇
Dude, average citizens do this every day, just the other day while i was driving to work i had to go enter a random persons house for no reason to place a tourney kit on a mother shot in the groin/thigh and try to stabilize a slashed up child and the father slumped over the bedside with a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. I mean average citizens do this shit all the time, why should police and military receive any kind of awareness when I do that on my 9 to 5 job at the office?
not everyone can go through something traumatic and have their brains/bodies respond properly. some people get stuck in flight or fight and some don't, be glad you didn't. this is exactly why we need to work on destigmatizing mental health/PTSD
We are all unique in many ways and are not here to compare ourselves but to see each of us as equals and stand by one another without discrimination and judgement
AVERAGE CITIZENS DO THIS EVERY DAY --- THEY GET NO PAY ---- NO SUPPORT --- LIKE A SURGEON NOT ABLE TO STAND BLOOD --- SHOULD NEVER HAVE JOINED OR BEEN INDUCED TO JOIN --- JUST A WINGER ON COMPO.
Every day...really? I have been involved in the investigation of over 500 deaths over the course of my career which lasted 27 years. This was just one of those deaths early in my career. It was shared to help others who may be struggling. I gained nothing from it. I am sad for you and your lack of compassion and empathy. A winger on compo?...you do not make any sense.
Barry your either ignorant or stupid if you actually believe that. Stupid is probably on the mark, id go back to grade school Barry, you aint playin with a full deck if you get my drift.
Barry....there's no way you watched this video ! No way ! There can't be, because IF you did, and that's your reply to Mr.Donnelly, I mean really dude ?! But I think I'll follow his lead and take the high road on this one. I share in his sentiments toward you.
@@williamdonnelly798 Thanks William! Rookie cop here , I ended up here as I was trying to help myself cope with a call I responded too. I always knew the day would come I would get my first call something like this would happen. Let’s just say in the interest of not giving the gritty details it was a wellness check of an elderly person that lived alone and we were alittle more than a tad late to say the least. A career of 27 years I’m going to assume you understand what I was confronted with when I arrived. I’m just writing this to remind you that your courage to speak about these thing does help people in case you thought it didn’t. It’s comforting knowing that I’m not alone in some of the feelings or experiences I have. This guy is ignorant so I won’t even speak on that , Just wanted to let you know that it helps people more than you might know. Hope you are well
@@archdukefranzferdinand4429 Thanks for reaching out. That is what will keep what you saw from festering and becoming problematic. Your own early recognition that something was amiss is a great start to healing and dealing with what you were confronted with. When dealt with properly (talked about openly, processed emotionally, put into proper context, etc), those types of traumatic events will just be properly filed memories of the myriad of horrific cases that we have had to deal with. Doing the opposite is what leads to PTSD. I wish you well brother. Keep talking openly about it in a safe environment (no need to share with everyone), cry when needed and let the emotion out in a safe environment. It is a great career that I would do all over again, just a little differently. Peace.
What about the lifetime of PTSD for victims and their families who get abused by these jokers in blue. Yes, YOU might be an upright officer but every time you looked away when your colleague/s were using undue force or other criminal acts, you sir are culpable. Defund these criminals.
crying over a flashlight in front of your kid what a example for your son so every time you see a car it reminds YOU of a accident stay home you are not fit for law enforcement work
Yes, it’s just like that you heartless moron!! That’s PTSD!! That’s how HORRIBLE IT IS! It’s awful! It’s crippling! It destroys lives! I was attacked FROM BEHIND! Beaten! I’D TAKE A “I-SAW-IT-COMING” BEATING EVERY DAY IN EXCHANGE FOR THIS PTSD!! Counseling after counseling after counseling! Multiple medications (NONE WORKED!!) TREMENDOUS HEADACHES!! Nightmare after nightmare after nightmare!!!! I live with a short-tempered husband who WON’T TAKE THE TIME TO UNDERSTAND PTSD and it’s HELL!! As awful as I believe you are for making your DISGUSTING comment, even still, I wouldn’t wish this PTSD upon you or anyone.
