best news a person could get in 2022 more videos from sprockets garage.I am off work awaiting 2 knee replacements so have spare time now for the shop although can't do a lot but bench work but this is great news I have more content like this to watch.the mud mower thing did not take off here, I build a nice rig but no one to run with and at 63 yrs old not really wise to spend a lot of time on backwoods trails by yourself.but I still restore old garden tractors and thats fun x 100.great to see your back looking forward to your videos.

The only part we have had grenade on us from a Chevy was the rear differential on a 1999 Astro. My dad was coming home from work and the internals lodged themselves and blew out the bottom of the differential. Cannot wait for a more semi consistent uploading!

Good video guys👍 Greg like to welcome ya to the off-road mower world. My son's and I are doing the final work on the trail expansion at my place now that the ponds frozen over and we can use it to haul the pine log cable bridge in place! Originally was gonna cross the mud flats but beavers changed that lol. So pine log cable it is. You've got my invite to come ride here! Bring a change of clothes and underwear your gonna need em😅 sorry doc water crossing is no longer being used for rides it's too deep and I don't wanna see guys swamping motors! No longer using the Steve R brown/ MurFord memorial hill too risky so bipass has been finished for safer travels! Awesome video keep them coming brother👍
@DocSprocket
@DocSprocket 2 года назад
Yeah, between natural erosion and spinning tires, the Hill was just getting worse, and with the rock ledge being what it is... Was fun while it lasted. You busting your ass was enough of a hint to stay the hell off it.
@jeremywood61
@jeremywood61 2 года назад
Yep lol we've found and easier spot to make the return back to bridge still not easy but not as steep! We were gona pile logs at the memorial hill and cable tie them so can't move and back fill with earth,stumbled upon an easier route while sourcing logs lol.

MULE's butt will make a return on SG just on the back of a new machine. If I didn't already have it modded to the point its at I'd be more willing to trade it back for this.

Hey doc, the original ford garden tractors were built by jacobsen

Interesting! I guess they built the Lawn Boys, too. Also had a Gilson with the same chassis stampings.

Hey there Doc, greetings again from New England USA and great to see you back up & running, it looks awesome. Untimely as it was . . . "From the ashes" eh. Enjoyed another 2.0 twist and wanted to float this out there to you and the group. I have a Hydro Gear 323-0510 (a spare) and it's set up for cruise control however, have no use for cruise and I'd like to put a "2.0" to it and use it for a 4WD project slated for sometime in early Spring. Not much luck with the research other than a few for sale and various complaints about failures LOL. Have you had any "hands on" with these or know anyone who has? I'm sure a conversion is do-able HOWEVER, as history has proven, knowing the glitches & caveats before hand lessens the likely hood of "this ain't fun any more" rearing it's ugly head. Thanks in advance with all the best in your new "sanctuary" (just finished some upgrades here in mine). As always . . . Stay Safe! JJFIII

I'm not sure. I'm kind of on a break and pursuing other hobbies and interests at the moment. There's things I still want to do, though- so I wouldn't say I'm gone for good. Thanks for asking!

⭕️now that I'm subscribed, would you make, for lack of a description... a collage... of the videos for the "mule" this axle came from... sort of a list of the build/mods in such a way that a person can watch in something of an order and build it themselves... as i have intentions of doing. i, too, need a "mule" for the same reasons you did. moving trailers and log splitter and firewood... no mudding or WFO operations ... jus simply a mule ... and that's what ima paint on it ... "the mule" ... if you would good sir, thank you.

HI! I don't have a complete build history on video, but I do have a fair bit of information on the original build and some of the changes it underwent. If you go under "Playlists" you'll find the series of videos. Thanks for watching!

Cool Stuff... don't you need to put silcone completely around the axle bearings, on the underside of it too?
@DocSprocket

He did. Nobody needs to see 15 minutes of just silicone application.

mst dont last unless they are used as transmission not transaxle, i run mine to a 1 1/2 swing axle rear axle. tractor is much longer, rides better, turns better, climbs hills like a boss, i run the gravel bank nightly.. so much better with rear axle travel. . leaning and power sliding through corners ... chain drive , it doest snap like a 206 ...just saying.
@DocSprocket
@DocSprocket 2 года назад
Well, I ran this one awhile with good bracing, and it did OK. Greg is probably gonna kill it... Then start shopping for an 820. I run an 820 in Fugazi and I've put that thing through all kindsa hell. Even knocked a chunk ouit of the case webbing when I deadheaded on a submerged log- still going strong. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing your setup though!

@@DocSprocket your solid axle doc locker got me started, thank you so much. the double chain tightener so chain doest skip in reverse was my biggest battle. . but i been sending it daily at the farm after chores. even if it breaks now. it proved it can be done
