As part of making the house more energy efficient and using the energy produced from the solar panels on the roof, I have decided to try an infrared heater.
I've been using my Klarstein Wonderwall Air Art Smart Infrared Heater (700W, 120 x 60 cm) in Mountains design fir a month and here is my review
This video is not sponsored and if you want to check out the heater, here is a link to it on the Klarstein website.

I had the 600W version. I was very impressed with it, until one day it suddenly stopped working. We'd only had it about 3 months so I contacted Klarstein about getting it swapped out. Instead they just refunded me and asked for it to be returned to them (at their expense). However when it worked, it was great and I'm sold on the technology. The heat generated by it is more pleasant than a conventional convection heater. I'm thinking of trying Herschel next - much more expensive than Klarstein so hopefully better build quality too. Hope your Klarstein lasts you a long time.

I have the mirrorstone picture panels and they are superb, sits more flush to the wall than that one. Saving me a fortune and the heat quality is great, I would suggest going over power for each room I can feel the heat a fair way back around 6 metres away for the 900watt panel. 5 to 10 minutes minutes I find brings the room up to temp and what I find when turn off the room remains longer at that temp longer than other forms of heating.

Excellent review of you products I’m having awful problem trying to set up my new nfrared Wall Heating Panel SUNWAY SWRE 700 with Digital Thermostat the instructions are so confused I really don’t underhow to set the template or set the 7 day program on it so I think I’ve just wasted €250 on a heater that’s only heats to 13 c

Very nice presentation! Could you share in what hight from the ground did you install the heater? Do you know if there is a minimum hight in which it needs to be inatalled? Much appricated 🙂

@@bucora1 thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. I'm about 1.73m and think the top of the panel is about 10-15cm above that. I don't see. Anything in the instruction about minimum height, i can see why it would be an issue (you would get warm legs though)

Thanks a lot for the review. I have one dout, what do you think about put the heater in the same room of a TV. 90° and 2meters +- Could damage the tv?
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech 7 месяцев назад
Hi, at 2m i wont have though so as only a small area is exposed to the full rays. i would check the operating temperature range of the tv and just check by touching the tv on how hot its getting

I have had one of these for a few years now in our lounge. Although it does "heat" it is not a replacement heater for the lounge as it is simply not powerful enough. The inbuilt thermostat is now faulty (reads high 20s in a cold room) and the app stopped working with it too. I still like the infrared idea just not the best product. Looks good though with a picture.
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech Год назад
The thermostat is something I've been thinking about, not sure how its meant to work as it attached to the back of a sheet that gets hot.
@tomrichards4633
@tomrichards4633 Год назад
@@drchrisjbarnettgreentechYes it will never be ideal but I think mine has just broken. I think a separate thermostat in the room is better.

agree. my one would not go above 11 degrees. I got my money back, no issues but it was left to me to dispose of the darn thing. Not easy for a pensioner to get down the tip

Hi .would a 800 watt panel fixed on the ceiling above the bed be able to heat directly underneath quickly? Not worried bout heating the room just the person directly underneath. The distance from the panel to the bed below would be 5.5 feet...if so would it get too hot? Or should I downsize to a 600/ 400 watt?
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech Год назад
Hi, these infared heaters do heat you very quickly compared to usual radiators. I would ask the supplier, but at a distance of only 5.5 feet the lower power will probably do the job.

Just to clarify: I assume by '5G' and '2G' wifi you mean 5 GHz and the older 2.4 Ghz wifi frequencies, not to be confused with the old 2G (second generation) mobile phone transmission standard, current from the 1990s until recently, and the far shorter wavelength 5G (fifth generation) transmission standard now being introduced and as yet used in only a few parts of the UK. Wifi and mobile phone signals are of course two completely different systems which just happen often to be usable by the same devices. Many wi-fi routers are quite happy to use both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. With regard to the length of the cable, most users will surely have somewhere they can site a heater within reach of a power socket (outlet, receptacle). To supply 2 metres of cable with every heater for the few users who want to site their heaters elsewhere would add cost and be potentially dangerous as users would either wind the cable into a bundle or allow it to lie on the floor where it could be damaged or tripped over,
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech Год назад
Yes it GHz, think for most routers its fine, we had problems due to our mesh.

I was told that this type of heater is perhaps best used to support the central heating that is set at 'base' level (say 15 degrees), but I don't know if there is science behind it.
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech
@drchrisjbarnettgreentech 7 месяцев назад
That would be one way to use them. You could have you rooms set to 15C housing the central heating and if you using a room then use the IR heater to warm you up to 19 or 20 without having to raise the whole room temperature or temperature in other rooms too
@ysjmichael

@drchrisjbarnettnanoexpert Gas price is still too high for me to even want to turn the boiler on, so often I only use infrared tube, and I find that the heating is really restricted like what it says on the tin. You step a foot outside the range, it feels 5 degrees colder. But I do like it's decor value which minimizes cluttering small houses.

@@drchrisjbarnettgreentech the plug they sent is for a adapter for a like a shaver that slots in to the bottom. The plug on the picture is much bigger it won’t go in. It needs an adapter similar to the ones we take on holiday if you know what I mean
