ABOUT THIS TPMS
The TST 507 is a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) by Truck System Technologies that monitors the pressure (PSI) and temperature of your tires (RV, motorhome, truck, trailer, car) for optimal tire safety. Proper tire inflation and temperature can help reduce the risk of tire failure such as blowouts.
We were provided this TST 507 system with 6 flow through sensors (for our RV) and 4 cap sensors (for our tow vehicle) by TechnoRV for the purpose of testing and doing this review. As always, our opinions are our own.
This is the only TPMS system that includes a color monitor and can be purchased with flow through and/or cap sensors for each tire. The cap sensor is very popular for those that are looking for a low-profile sensor. The Cap Sensor can be used with metal or rubber valve stems.
The TST 507 Kit includes::
* Color Monitor
* The Number of sensors that you choose
* USB/DC power supply
* Signal Repeater
* Rubber Dash Pad Mount
* Suction Cup Window Mount
Features of this TPMS system:
* reporting of pressure and temperature on Color Monitor
* the monitor can report up to 4 trailers/towables
* ability to customize each axle for high and low alert parameters
* the cap sensor features a user replaceable battery (CR1632)
* sensors will auto code to the monitor
* theft resistant feature
* the color monitor auto-scrolls through each tire reporting PSI and Temp
* GE Circuitry and well insulated sensors
Summary
We have been using this system for about 4 months at the time of publishing this review. We are very impressed with this unit. It was easy to set up and install. By presetting the alert triggers and watching the data scroll through the display, I have much more peace of mind when driving our RV. This system has saved me a significant amount of time in checking tire pressure (and airing up as needed) before each trip. My only regret is not installing this system in our RV from day one.

Thank you Marc and Julie! Great video and you touched on many important points. I've been driving without a TPMS system and every time I would flat tow our Jeep Wrangler I worried about getting a flat on the Jeep and not knowing it until the flat tire shredded and turned into a ball of smoke and fire! Being able to monitor the tire temps and pressures on the RV in real-time will be much better than only checking pressure before leaving the campsite. Peace of mind rolling down the road is a good thing to have! I really appreciate your work in these videos and the support that you give to the rest of us in the RV community!

Glad you enjoyed the video Dan, the TPMS will give you so much more peace of mind and increased safety. Like Marc said in the video, despite his diligence around tire safety all these years, while we never had an issue... we still wish we had this from day 1.

I have the older (B&W) version of the same system. TST is great and has great support as does TechnoRV. Great folks all around!

The newer units have addressed some of the things that I did not like about them a few years ago and that was supplying power to the display, size, range and replacing batteries in the tire transmitters. I picked up a system in January at the Quartzsite Big Tent event and think it works very well. It appears there are just two or so companies that make these, then sell them to what I call label business. They are basically the same product with some cosmetic or small feature changes. An easy way to tell if two products are from the same manufacturer is to look at the tire sender unit to see if they are the same. I went with the EEZ RV Products brand which appears to be made by the same manufacturer that supplies TST. There are some differences in the display but both are very functional. The color display looks impressive but I concluded there was no significant advantage. I think the black and white display offers more contrast and is easy to read in bright sunlight. Resolution is quite sharp. My thought is the black and white screen will have a longer life, but I do not know that for sure. I do not know if one consumes less power than the other but that could be a consideration. From reading other reviews, the transmitters will fail on occasion so I ended up getting a set of nine so I have a spare and can then replace a failed transmitter at my leisure. The signal repeater may not be necessary, depending on the setup. I was told a big issue is RF interference from other electronics in the vehicle. This is more of an issue with the newer vehicles which have more computer modules and transmitting devices. I bought the repeater at the same time as the base system because it was cheaper in a bundle, but I doubt my 2004 diesel truck and 26 ft travel trailer need it. Something like a Class A pusher with a tow behind vehicle would probably need the repeater. Having had a blowout on I-95 with the trailer and the experience with a system in my car, I agree that this is most definitely a worthwhile product to have.

Bruce H thank you for sharing your experience! We used a repeater for our 40’ MH. And our electronics are fairly minimal being an older coach. We agree with your comment about this and the EEZ unit being very similar and quite possibly same manufacturer with slight differences and two brands. We are very happy to now have this installed in our RV.

Are metal valve stems necessary or can you use rubber stems? Thanks!

Great review, Marc!. I have been looking for a system for my Georgetown XL and I will need to install the repeater but I will need to find a way to tap in to a 12V source?
@RoadGearReviews
@RoadGearReviews 5 лет назад
I installed the repeater by tying into one 12v power wires of the cargo area lights in the basement of our coach. The way I installed it, it pulls the 12V continuously, but had I been concerned about draw, I probably could have installed a switch. Hope that helps.

If you did have (4) different towables and had sensors for all of them, wouldn't you need to move the repeater each time for new unit?

Had the older version of the TST on my previous truck and 5th wheel. Left it with the new owners, now purchasing a new one for my current 5th wheel (truck has factory TPMS). I went with the monochrome version and saved $50...don't need to see the colors haha! One negative comment that I also agree with is that (unless they've improved them) the instructions were terrible with my previous TST 507 from years ago. NOT very clear at all...maybe they've re written them? I like the new dash mount better too...

If you ask me the EEZTire-TPMS6 looks better I have the TST 507 with color monitor and the screen is dark and hard to read so I think it is useless and not worth the cost

Sorry you feel that way. I LOVE our TST 507 and find the color monitor super easy to read. Maybe I have mine mounted closer to me.
