Here I give my thoughts and impressions on this neat sabre by Universal Swords. I purchased the sword with my own money and I am not affiliated with Universal Swords. Thanks for watching and please leave a like and subscribe!

I happen to own an original and let me tell you - that guard is easy to bend. It actually arrived with a very bent part that's just over your thumb, as if wrapped around it to protect your fingers XD

Thing with austrian cavalry swords is, that they were under constant development from the late 1500's onwards. They do originate from three sources - turkish, hungarian and polish sabers - and developed into specificly user optimized models. Regarding Mass of Blade - the mass derives from velocity during charge, so a medium to light blade, easier to handle is preferable over a heavier one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-622zDkLCYJI.html (cavalry attack starts at around 3:00)

Nice! I signed up for the waitlist a few weeks ago, Universal and Deepeeka seem to go in and out of stock in waves like you said.

whats so great about Austrian swords is that they are symmetrical.

Very interesting blade design! Is it like a T (looking down the blade)? You could get a very large cutting surface. That plastic grip is a disappointment. Looking at the hand guard, is it an ambidextrous grip (made for either hand)?

I have an original and the sword itself weighs about 1120 grams which is almost 2,5 pounds.

I was interested until you said plastic handle. That was a real deal breaker.

I've said it once I'll say it a thousand times : India, Pakistan, Philippines cannot temper to today's standards and china has only started to within the past few years. Hell, even Canada (DSA) can't temper or sharpen properly. Best stuff is still USA, Japan, South Korea, Eastern Europe (chech republic etc) and some smiths in Europe are good (sulowski). Polish smiths are doing good stuff too.

Your name is hilarious man. I went to your channel and saw no videos and was like "Yup, the name checks out." 😂

There is in Germany still WKC company, which produces sabers, at least since mid 19th century. But : Inside of Germany only some historic societies ( Historische Bürgerwehren) and in Northwestern Germany the target shooters societies use sabers as ceremonial weapons only. So this sabers are usually not sharpened.

You said "Calvary" instead of "Cavalry" literally every single time in this video. Otherwise it was a good review, but that pronunciation really kinda bothered me (especially since you spelled it correctly in the title).
