This feels like the 47 minute video equivalent of when your brain reminds you of something embarrassing you did years ago while you’re trying to sleep.
Nah bro this is facts I always be thinking about all the embarrassing s*** I have done and what’s even worse is that my friends keep reminding me and it’s so annoying
Well, I really like the first Aquaman movie, but i will not see the second movie if She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is still in it, I'd rather not give her the satisfaction or the time of day after all the shit she's done has now come to light.
Marcus is like that teacher that grades your paper so harshly , so you go back and ask why you got that grade, and so they go through it with you and tell you that your lucky they gave you that high a score in the first place
**gets to Spider-Verse** Marcus: I must've been on crack when I gave it a 9. Me: **loads gun** Marcus: Cause it's a 10. Me: Understandable. Have a nice day.
@@spider-man6932 If that's what he meant, surely he would say that? It's also apples and pears, comparing a game to a movie? One is character and player driven the other is not, games also typically are much longer
The thing with homecoming was that far from home and infinity war and PS4 were all great stories and it has the same stature as iron man 1 at this point where it was a nice starting point but what came after was all just better and better it’s hard to praise it too much because then you think about all the better stuff that came after
He keeps thinking he was on drugs, he wasn't... He was just on Infinity War hype, which is entirely understandable. He said he saw it 5 times, and would be willing to see it a sixth time.
I like the idea of 2 scores: one for overall enjoyment and one for quality. Then you can get a sense of what the movie was like to the reviewer: - High Enjoyment, High Quality: A great movie - High Enjoyment, Low Quality: A 'so-bad-it's-good' movie - Low Enjoyment, High Quality: A well-made movie that wasn't their kinda thing - Low Enjoyment, Low Quality: Shite
@@oracletv1557 it could be good but, IMO, making a "comedy" with Carnage as the antagonist is setting the movie up for failure because so many people are going to go in expecting something else.
I want him to do all the Transformers movies like he did for the Star Wars movies Because I'm a sadist.. but at least he gets to end on a good note with Bumblebee
@@WiloPolis03 ROS might actually be my fave Star Wars movie even though it is pretty close to being the worst one. I get such a kick out of watching it. 😂👌
It's OK that he doesn't like rebels though. There is a lot to like about it and a lot to dislike. I can understand both the people who love it as well as the people who hate it.
Yeah but MCU is low quality in general, shitty jokes and 'comedic' cuts in action no one laughs at, often forgetable story and badly written characters, worst set of Spiderman films and depiction of the character Ive seen so far and like idk man these films feel like they have no soul, there's a frequent lack of emotion and stakes to the films that make them really unengaging and difficult to actually care about the characters, so yeah I hate them, fuck MCU(except for iron man 3 that's shits good as)
@@herniagaming If you think that Homecoming and Far From Home are the worst depictions of who Spider-Man is, you really have never picked up a comic book from the original run by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko
@@herniagaming I think you just flipped the switch of which movies are good both the Spiderman movies are good iron man 3 is sus not that good as the previous films
@Trey 2x definitely RoS that is the worst movie I have ever seen in theatres, but I think m TLJ with the Luke and Rey stuff is really good, but the Finn and Rose stuff is pure filler so for me i’m torn between which one is better: Revenge of the Sith or The Last Jedi
@@souljacrankthat I personally like the last jedi more, just because I take the ideas it presents more seriously. They both have good ideas, don't get me wrong, but the last jedi presents them better through the Luke/Rey/Kylo/Snoke stuff while in Revenge things just happen because people are too easily manipulated(Anakin turns so fucking quick from "o no, I killed Windu, whom I didn't like" to "Yeah sure, I'll kill the younglins with no hesitation"). Plus revenge gets weighted down by the two other prequels (like Anakin being already a fascist psycho in 2) while tlj was exactly what I expected after the force awakens. However its just personal preference.
@@deadmanrang Perfect rating. Yeah, Rise of Skywalker is from a writing standpoint awful. however it has some great standalone scenes like Bens redemption. And it has a good cinematography, humor and acting. Phantom menace and Attack of the clones haven´t even this.
Only guy on RU-vid whose number ratings don’t bother me because I fully understand how he feels about the film and the number is just there for everyone to gauge him based on how he’s set these numbers up. Dope stuff man. Keep it up.
Yeah in a year or two (when he is feeling generous again) all the 2 will probably go up to about 5. But the good thing is he is completely aware of that.
Nah, his reviews are the worst. He gave Captain Marvel and She Hulk a 7. No way, TASM movies are better. He gave TASM 1 a 3/10 and TASM 2 a 2/10. That's no way. TASM movies are better then Captain Marvel and She Hulk. TASM 1 had positive reviews. It should get between 7-8.5/10. It's better then a 3/10. It was well received by critics and audiences. TASM 2 is divisive but it's better then Captain Marvel at least. It's better then a 2/10. TASM 2 should get at least 6-7.5/10. HiTopFilms is better then this guy. Cosmount Quickie hates Sam Raimi's Spider Man trilogy too. He hates the Antman movies.
@@shreyasbhadury4173 depends on if it's correct or not. Cosmount Quicike is flawed and biased. He gave Antman 3/10. Antman was awesome. He gave the first Iron Man 6/10. It's better then that. I respect opinions but his ones are a$$. Like another IGN.
@@shreyasbhadury4173 except that IGN has the worst reviews similar to him as well. Like Fortnite 9.6/10 and they gave 2018 Spider-Man 8.7/10. No way he or IGN is right. I respect opinions but IGN's and his are lame 🤮
When he saw that the oldest video was 8 years ago and wanted to quit, I felt that. You couldn't pay me enough to rewatch a video of my opinions from 8 years ago,
I love how agro'd Marcus was over the Sam raimi trilogy video. That was the first cosmonaut video I ever ever saw and I could tell so obviously that he loved them as much as I do
Guardians Vol 2 is soooo critically underrated. I honestly see why people like Vol 1 more, but the villain, character development, plot, and redemption arcs of Vol 2 are chef's kiss good.
I found the swerves in tone in that movie super jarring. It switched from slapstick and pop culture references to 'Kurt Russell gave my mom terminal cancer'; I've been in an actual car accident that left me with less whiplash than that.
For real, I love this kind of thing People going back and seeing how their past opinions stack up to their current ones is my shit Loved this format Marcus, would be so down to see more
When I was in seventh grade, I had never been as excited for a movie as I was for Age of Ultron, and I fell asleep in the first hour. I had never done that before.
You know, I enjoyed the first Ant Man. I thought it was pretty funny and the relationship between Scot and his daughter is sweet and a high point of the film.
Marcus might be the only film critic I know that can point to something and say "This is unacceptable" with a big smile on his face while laughing. That's why he's so awesome
I still hold onto the concept that Endgame works better as a bookend than as a standalone movie. But not many, if any, films have really had this problem before, where it wasn’t really built to fit completely as a movie on its own. It’s a mess on its own in many ways, but it’s cultural impact, as well as its completion of the infinity saga, makes it an 8 for me.
It's the film equivalent of the saying "If you know, you know." I agree that the movie isn't really a movie and is more of a series finale but I feel it doesn't excuse the fact that it's a mess, even if you watch all the movies it still feels disjointed. Like they had too many ideas and mashed three movies together. Clunky, bloated, and a bittersweet ending to a series of films. It's a solid 6!
The first time I watched Endgame was when I had only watched a few MCU movies like IM1 and 3, Avengers 1 and Thor Ragnarok and almost forgotten them as well. The entire movie I had no idea what was going on and I couldn't feel for any of the characters coz I felt like I didn't know them. When I was telling my friends about how much Endgame sucked, they were upset and confused. They said I had to experience hours of character development and plot unfolding before I could enjoy the movie. I said that wasn't worth my time. COVID happened and I caught up on all MCU movies and I gotta say that ENDGAME IS THE BEST CONCLUSION EVER SEEN ON SCREEN by me; totally worth my time. It wasn't perfect, and the films leading to it weren't even close to perfect (except Infinity War). But then again I ain't perfect either, none of us are...
Dunno which comics you read mate but the best ones tend to have a complex plot and engaging characters not Indiana Jones rip offs with none of the intelligence or energy
@@tobylerone4285 Dude... It's fucking AQUAMAN! I don't expect complexity or an introspective look at the human soul or some shit. I got exactly what I've wanted to see since 2011, when I picked up my first Aquaman comic written by Geoff Johns and drawn by Ivan Reis. It was goofy as shit back then and it still is now, but I love it and it got a movie that was just fun. Comics can be silly, ridiculous and even full blown nonsense and STILL be entertaining. Not everything has to be like Joker or Watchmen or whatever.
@@mr.goblin6039 so reading the 2011 comic is a similar sensation to having your head caved in by a box of crayola? Fair enough; but if aqua man has the same one dimensional characterisation in the comics then I really dunno why you’re into it
I think it's impossible to rate a lot of movies on quality with a single score because some movies are technically well-made but have abhorrent ideas or messages, and vice versa, like Pocahontas with its beautiful animation but disgusting theme that both sides were racist and bad, or Solo with its ugly visuals but great backstory for Han. It's impossible for me to rate movies quality with one number because a lot of the time the one aspect will cancel out another, which leads to wildly inconsistent scores.
The fact that the final season of GOT can literally ruin the rewatchability of the early seasons for someone is depressing to me. I'm rewatching the show rn, I'm planning on stopping at 6 and I'm really enjoying it.
@@QuantumtestGaming most people think the ending is shit but thats just because the english translation is horrendous. i went through it with a japanese friend and with a correct translation a lot of the worse moments are kinda fixed. also they’re adding another 8 pages or so to the final volume and fixing translations and stuff so i recommend you read the final version before making up your mind.
@plutosend Ready Player One is a perfectly average movie with amazing visuals. I feel like 6 is perfect, the plot is simple and stupid at times but I don't really care it's fun to watch and if you can't appreciate that, I understand but I feel bad for you.
Cosmonaut is the kind of guy who has a whole ass antique shop worth of hot takes that vary in their accuracy and quality. Sometimes you'll get a hot take that's actually understandable such as Jar Jar being the thing that keeps you awake during TPM until the climax. Other times you'll get a hot take so atrociously overgeneralized or misguided or even just outright wrong like calling Fugo a calm, cool guy.
It was actually kind off refreshing seeing unscripted Marcus. Edit: I cracked up a looot while watching this. For some reason unscripted marcus has more life energy idk
The fact that he put the Ant-Man movies in par with the TASM 2 makes me unreasonably sad. Maybe because I like Paul Rudd too much and I happen to think that it's a pretty harmless and fun movie on its own.
Yeah I liked that Marvel was at a point where they could do something a lot smaller in scale. I feel like that was even the meta joke that it was not as epic as every other Marvel movie being that you know, the main characters super power is shrinking shit. It was fun and light hearted and I liked the dad vibes. 7/10 Marvel movie. P.S I even liked the sequel more
I mean, it is an average movie. People treat Winter Soldier as if it's some sort of cool James Bond spy movie, when in reality it's just a pretty average corny comic book movie. The plot is very basic, it doesn't take any effort to follow the story.
@@jensb3946 I never said it was super complicated. But it is definitely a better made movie then at least 80 percent of the other mcu movies. The action in this has yet to be topped. An "average" MCU movie to me would be like Ant Man or like Black Panther.
Sebastian Aguilera Fernandez I see what you’re saying, infinity War is my favorite marvel movie. But the high way scene is really underrated. They are both amazing fights for different reason. I would put Winter Soldier with Ragnarok and Iron Man 3, which are my respective favorite films for each of the big 3. My MCU top 5 goes 1. Infinity War 2. GOTG 3. Ragnarok 4. Winter Soldier 5. This is tough I’m personally between Iron Man 3 or The Avengers
Finally an honest prequel fan! I do enjoy the prequels even enduring it's most unwatchable moments, ROTS is a pretty mid film, but like all Star Wars movies, it has some amazing moments and scenes in the midst of being a bad to decent movie. ROTS by itself is a 6/10, but when you add what we know from TCW, it's a 11/10 if I could give it that.
People think he hates the movies because he didn't focus in the good aspects of the movie. Just the lame aspects because everyone seems to praise it as a piece of art
