These Riccar's are very good vacuums, I had an 8955 some time ago, which had the black color and was the newest version of these 8 series (although I do believe this 8900 was made in the same time period as the 8955 and was offered as the lower end version) that had on board tools and has a dual stage motor (meaning the motor had 2 fan impellers instead of 1, that allowed for much better airflow). This actually performs pretty good even with a single stage motor (airflow I can imagine is still pretty good since it doesn't have a hose that wraps around the top), and that's likely due to how aggressive the brush rolls on these are.
Hi Grayson, I believe you are right. These vacuums are built very long for longevity. The motor is strong and quiet and glides across the carpet. The Bernina one like this does a very good job but this Riccar I’m liking better. Do you know if this Riccar came with one or two wands?
The 8900 has a fixed plastic hose, single stage motor, and no onboard tools, although you can buy an optional tool kit that attaches on the back. The 8955 has a dual stage motor, has on board tools, and a flexible hose that can be removed to use said on-board tools.
@@Bunkysworkshop I've honestly never used the 8900 that you've had, so I can't compare. The 8955 with its dual stage motor produces more airflow than the single stage 8900, but that doesn't mean, the 8900 with a single stage motor is entirely low on airflow, I imagine the airflow of the 8900 is still really good, it's just likely not as much as the 8955 with a dual stage motor.
