@mctaguer
@mctaguer 3 года назад
Nooooo. They overhype EVERYTHING. I'll give you a larger, Grade A example: The Knicks franchise. The Knicks are one of the most miserable franchises in sports--but it's not just recent history. Almost 200 games BELOW .500 for the entirety of their "illustrious" 75 yr history, and two paltry championships nearly 5 decades ago (Basically, they're the Jets in shorts and for longer). Fewer 50 win seasons in 75 yrs than the Spurs had in 15. But, outside of very recent history, you'd think they were the Darlings of the NBA--endlessly fawned over and referred to as an "elite" franchise. Ah, only NYC... Oh BTW, NYC--championships the last 20 yrs: NYC (with NINE teams--I gave you the Devils because I feel sorry for you): 4; Boston (with 4 teams): 12. Thank God for Eli Manning, eh?
@mctaguer
@mctaguer 3 года назад
@@yankmyass He was. But I also think he was better before the beaning--not his fault. Still, his biggest problem is lack of availability. His OPS+ as a Yankee is still damned good--the problem is, he's only played ~250 games out of ~450 as a NYY. He's almost 32, so that trend probably won't improve much either...

Shohei took over as the greatest athlete ever in my eyes. Over Jordan, which is crazy but if one understood the magnitude of what he's doing we should all agree. This eats sleeps baseball. He is baseball personified. Shohei is gifted no doubt but one should understand that he has conditioned himself to play two ways. His abilities to do so should never be questioned based on then stigma that it's physically impossible. It's not when you spent your entire life towards that way of playing. Any kid from now on with potential to be two ways should not be denied the opportunity to do so. Baseball is alive and well and Shohei is leading the charge.

The question MLB The Show fans like me are asking us who gets the June Player of the Month Lightning promo card, Schwarber or Ohtani? My guess is Schwarber as Ohtani got an April (not Lightning) PotM card, & had his standard card go from Silver to Diamond over the course of the season so far.

The yankees is a team for top athletes to waste away and never hear from. Ohtani makes the right choice with the angels so that we can see how good he is and going to be.

I honestly I think you can replace that with the East Coast. Because honestly ESPN has an east coast bias.

It's not ESPN that has that bias, it's television in general, and it's that way for all sports and sporting events.

Or maybe the Red Sox, with that short porch in right field… 😎

The Angels grow your own hitters like Ohtani, Trout and Walsh are the way the team should pursue staying away from free agents.

Nothing pleases me more than to see NY and LA sports fans suffer!! And it’s not against Rich or the general public that are LA or NY fans…it’s against the media and blowhard companies like ESPN. I root for any team that plays against any team they root for!!

Angels are in Anaheim. I don't consider them an LA team tbh. They have LA as a marketing scheme

If Dale Murphy had played for New York (or another good team), he'd be in the Hall of Fame, have exponentially higher numbers and, maybe, considered the greatest of all-time.

Griffey said all you need to know about the Yankees. Ohtani is the man! Embrace this, it will never happen again.

Why didn’t Shohei sign with the Yankees? I’m don’t think it’s the pay. Maybe Yankee management doesn’t want him to play slugger or pitch? Or some players want to protect their status?

I think Angels gave him the freedom to be a two way player. Also have you been to Angel stadium? The weather there is always great to play baseball.

Fact is that he is not, and dont get any ideas he will not be there, there is no way Arte Moreno will let him leave. Enjoy Stanton and Cole.

I don't think Otani would want to leave. Anaheim is the best city to play baseball. It's why Trout extended his contract another 10 years. Anaheim stadium>Dodger stadium. I like the Dodgers but to get to Dodger stadium is a hassle.
