@@thelongtines8107that’s not why. And to call Paul a populist is not really accurate. He’s a fiscal conservative and has always been such. He not preaching peace and love and other things just common sense thinking of longevity. From Rome to now no country once it reaches the stage we’re at can survive the course we’re on.
@@iamdanyboy1 RINO = declared war with Iran, or using commando units and sending arms to rebel groups (obamas way of conducting war), RINOs are also for open borders
Neoconservatism was very much still embedded into the dogma of the republican party in 2012, it was all about being tough and aggressive with iran because muh god's chosen will get nuked if we don't
@@nimbletimplekins7601 While I don’t agree with most of America’s foreign policy, Israel getting nuked is not as impossible and insignificant as you’re making it sound like.
@@flavio7180 you'd think it would happen already since Pakistan has nukes. The reality of nuclear weapons is countries only want them because its a deterrent against invasion, that's it.
Republicans love war, and taking away money. Republicans are also a part of RepubloCrats, which is why they didn't want anyone to reveal surveillence or the fact that wars are for the purpose of installing banks, etc.
Santorum is saying "They are being mean, so we have to fight them." Paul is saying "Are they really being mean, why are they being mean, and can this be reversed before we decide to throw a punch?"
@@thursdayaf22Well my apologies sir, but I believe you. Nothing to be ashamed of you seem like a smart guy. So there is plenty of hope, but the wars these people are spouting is ridiculous. Next time when you see him, tell him that he and his kids could go fight for wars if he likes them so much.
This man (Dr. Ron Paul) is sooo wise. It's true that once the US put a country under attack, their people would come together, and the US would achieve the opposite of what they wanted. I'm from Vietnam, and I know VN won the Vietnam war exactly due to that effect he talked about. Once there is an intruder, everyone unites to fight for their own country, no matter how discontent they are with its government&leaders.
Chilling how Ron Paul got booed for talking sense. I remember watching something similar and it made by blood boil. I'm sorry, but the neocons in the Republican party are brainless, bloodthirsty fascists. Ron and Rand Paul have good ideas and great principles. Yet for *_some_* reason they never make it far in Republican presidential primaries. Hmmm....
It shows by his insurmountable popularity online. Unfortunately to vote in the republican primaries, you have to be registered as a republican, so no one could see his appeal to both sides
I AM PERSIAN I AM FROM IRAN I NEED FREEDOM AND I WANT TO LIVE IN FREEDOM BUT ... WE DO NOT NEED USA TO ATTACK TO MY COUNTRY TO REACH THE FREEDOM ALLRIGHT Mr SANTORUM & ROMNEY ??? WE WANT TO HAVE FREEDOM WITH OUR WILL & OUR WAY I LOVE RON PAUL HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT IRAN & THE REST OF THE WORLD REST OF THE ARE LYING !!! LONG LIVE USA LONG LIVE IRAN GOD BLESS KING RON PAUL : ) PEACE FROM PERSIANs . . . ;-)
I think Trump won as a reaction to the way the establishment treated Paul, he took them on and the voters were angry with them so they voted for him cuz they were like fuck it
That’s part of it. Republicans were also sick of their party and caught on to what they were doing. They turned to people like trump and Carson who were outsiders. People are sick of career politicians like Ted Cruz, Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio, Rick Santorum, etc.
When I saw Santorum talking about what America needs to do, going to war with Iran to stop the evil intentions, and hearing the crowd cheering him... I felt like I was watching a talkshow with ignorant guests and an even more ignorant audience. I can't believe that people with these kinds of thoughts are actually being considered for presidency, for the power to lead a nation with so much power. This scares the hell out of me. If I were American, I would vote Ron Paul. Enough paranoid politics.
Wow I remember watching this live. It was baffling to see a TRUE and last moderate politician get booed because he didn’t feed into the fear mongering and bs one liners. Both parties are playing us and its high time the american people wake up and realize we need to elect someone who can be the best of both sides.
Ron Paul is so freaking unbelievably crazy for wanting to go to war the way the Constitution says to instead of the tyrannical dictatorship way we have been. Who could ever support that type of honest and righteous position?
@TheWhiteboy3431 Where would you suggest I seek knowledge in this matter? Please direct us to the source of your wisdom, sir. I'm always up fer some learnin'.
Ron Paul is the only Republican that served this country in the military. This means he knows what the battlefield is like and he knows how big the impact is on our troops and their families when the are sent to fight thees senseless wars.
@motox3rider13 good point, I understand that he says he will go to war if necessary but it needs to be declared, i just think the government has been careless about our troops safety.
Not enough people give Trump the props for successfully destroying the credibility of the neocon wing of the republican establishment while still keeping face as a "strong" candidate. I think unfortunately the dominance was too recent/strong in 2012 that even with Paul's eloquent points it couldn't resonate.
@MrAmputechture ok fair. I think the Israel/Palestine issue is the biggest CF and the one that candidates should have the most informed opinion about. especially since we're forced to be involved
@FKAmericans My point wasn't that we should liberate the Iranians. It was instead that Ron Paul's statement about their rallying together if we attacked Iran seemed unrealistic.
@fewovercomers Part 2: Also seventh amendment ie. trial by jury originates from English Magna Carta, which stated that men should be put to trial with a jury of their peers. Bible had nothing to do with it. Even Jefferson states in his letters that Bible didn't have anything to do with 7th amendment, and that it's origins are in Magna Carta.
@TheWhiteboy3431 Okay, to keep the fun rolling here, explain some points, based on your understanding of economics that conflict with Ron Paul's view of economics. I won't comment again but I'll honestly research your points and consider them. I hope others will as well. This is the kind of thing that makes us all better Americans. I don't want to insult you and I'm sorry if I have. Thanks for keeping us in check.
I don't really get it. Candidates who talk about the deficit, the lack of money, the American living standard, the bad economy turn around and say how much war mongering they are. The two don't go together. War spends money and we don't have it. THERE IS NO MONEY, OR IS THERE?
@mrigs People who have served, including myself, never say the war is unjust. I don't think you understand what Paul actually believes. He doesn't want wars that are undeclared by congress, based on the constitutional policy of going to war. He would go to war if necessary. Becoming energy independent is the only way to safely vacate the Middle East to where we don't care what those countries do. We'll see if Paul will hit on that more in the future.
Seriousness of the American Public? A large majority of Americans oppose a war with Iran even if that meant they would acquire a nuclear weapon. The American Public is fucking sick of war.
the more i learn about foreign policy the less I agree with Ron Paul.. not to say he is wrong, because he is not. It's just difficult to accomplish what he says in reality
America spends more on military then the countries in positions #2-#11 COMBINED. It is not difficult, AT ALL REMOTELY, to simply never invade anybody who is not directly threading us, including places like Germany and France. EXTREMELY easy.
Wouldnt those 45 bases that 'surround Iran' be gone if President Paul brought all the troops home? You guys need me to ask him questions, you dont speak ronulan.
@MrAmputechture Peace is entirely to America, they need to gain the trust of most the world, after so much involvement in foreign issues. It's none of our business the problems of other nations, we need to take care of our own people!
The domestic United States is not energy dependent on Middle Eastern oil, The United State's global empire is however. You cannot have a global empire unless you control middle eastern oil. I'm shocked people do not understand that absolutely NONE of the oil that is produced over there is seen over here, not one drop. It is for Europe and our bases and military hardware and also for the mega corporations that prop up the military industrial complex.
@fewovercomers Common law in England formed from the traditions of local and Germanic tribes, Roman and Normanny law, and some Christian teachings. It wasn't based solely on Christinity, and Magna Carta was pretty secular code of law. So US constitution didn't rise from Christian teachings. Especially when basicly all of the founding fathers were deists. Besides calling english law christian because of some christian things is like calling flamed waffels alcoholic food.
I never said britian is any better, this is exactly the defense ignorance many ppl in western society posses. fantastic reference to Islam by the way, a fantastic presumption that I stand for or even represent the nationality I inherit.
Rick Santorum is right about the Iranians wanting freedom. I talked to two exchange students from Iran a couple weeks ago. One of them, Iman, described how a friend of his got killed while he and his friend were protesting for freedom. He said, "It's worthwhile for a few million people to die so that 70 million can have freedom. Ron Paul, "When we attack they rally around their leaders." Iman, "Iran's government does not represent the people of Iran."
@fewovercomers I misunderstand them? The Bible clearly says all those things that I just said: Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (Stoning children), Exodus 21:7-11 (Selling kids to slavery.) and Leviticus 15:19-23 (Periods.). Then about the king. Ok so what still? Even if it means any political leader, it doesn't change the fact that it is talking about the leader of Israelis. USA is not Israel, so it still has no meaning in US politics. Also I still don't understand how it disqualifies Paul.
@MrAmputechture of course it makes sense! when you perceive an imminent threat, you try to find any tool to defend yourself, so you hurry up in finding one! That's what Iran could do, they see American threats so imminent and repetitive that they could just go for it. They also see what happened in Iraq, when America went for the nukes and there waeren't any!
WE DONT WANT WAR! TOO MANY OF OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS HAVE DIED FOR UNJUST CAUSES! ITS EASY TO SAY YES TO WAR WHEN YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL NOT HAVE TO FIGHT IN IT!
@osgangstarrr he is well informed, but he doesn't care. it's not about who's a dictator and who's not...it's about who cooperates with america and who doesn't...
Also please try to sound less flustered if you do respond as youre only highlighting that "idiots get angry when you question them, because they are idiots"
@caid444 Many are awakening...even my father and brothers are finally turning around after 3 years of constant pounding by myself. I have also awakened several other liberals to the truth they refused to see before.
@MrAmputechture They feel threatened because we have dozens of military bases and tens of thousands of troops surrounding their country, and tens of thousands more being stationed over the next few months- and because Israel is nuclear-capable. Even Israel's prime minister has stated that nuclear deterrence is a natural desire for a country surrounded by hostile nuclear powers.
Even if you ignored everything else that was wrong with Santorum, just the fact that his budget plan will add 4.5 trillion to the national debt over four years, ought to be a deal-breaker for every conservative with a brain. The sad part is he’s still (fiscally) better than Gingrich or Romney. What does it say about the GOP that of the four “conservatives” running for president, only one of them has managed to put out a budget plan that moves up back towards the black?
"Pro-American Iranians who are there who want freedom and want democracy and want someone there to help them and support them" Last I checked, nope. Only the oil tycoons.
