@Quadratec would it be possible to get a video that features the backlights and the main lights from the driver seat POV in a bit darker environment? If not, maybe just a few more angles of the the backlights in the on position

The one thing I don't like is putting mounting hardware in-between contact points of factory equipment. These will move the position of the windshield, potentially creating a leak do to the weather sealing being set. In this case it looks like the windshield will be lifted up, creating interference with the freedom panels. Did you take any notes on windshield position before and after?

Yes, the windshield does move very slightly with these mounts installed, but we had no problems or interference removing or re-installing the freedom panels with the mounts in place. When closing / folding up the windshield, the hinge doesn't necessarily bottom-out on anything, with the mounts in place, that half of the hinge now simply swings a bit further before the windshield comes to rest on the windshield frame. Hopefully that makes sense.

What options to mounting these lights on a Jeep JT with the Rugged Ridge Snorkel - High mount? I already have a LED light bar mounted on the bumper.

This bracket looks like it will push the windshield assembly forward a bit. Will water get in due to the gasket not fully sealing?

Hi Rob -- quite late to the game on replying here, but I only recently found this video as I am considering the same lights for my 4Runner. Question for you -- what was your reasoning for installing these? Meaning, are these acting primarily as ditch lights when you offroad? Or, were they installed to address some other driving application (eg. seeing deer/animals on the sides of the roads, to extend the spread that your headlights would provide, etc.)? Thank you!

Installing lights in the A-Pillar position is a great way to get some additional light where ever you need it. Choose a spot or driving beam pattern light and aim them straight forward to add to your headlights, or choose a diffused beam pattern and aim them to the side as ditch lights to really help illuminate an otherwise really dark area.

Yes, you would have to remove the lights before you could fold the windshield down.

What else would I need to purchase in order to hook these up to the Aux switches?

You could use the Rigid 360 wiring harness and cut off the switch and relay, and just use the portion of the harness that connects to the lights and wire the other end directly to the AUX switches, or you could make your own custom harness. If you're going to the AUX switches, you really only need 3 wires, a ground to each of the lights, then a positive for the backlight wired to one switch and a second positive for the main light wired to another switch. You wouldn't need any additional fuses or anything because the AUX switches are already fused from the factory.

Except, of course, it isn’t their first round light. The R-46, I think it was called, went out of production last year.

While we apologize that the A-pillar mounts are currently out of stock, almost all of the light configurations are currently in stock, including the SAE fog light versions as well as the light harness.

And this is the best mounting option Rigid could come up with, remove the windshield? VS KC and their simpler A pillar mount and lights (LZR) that come with simple waterproof connecting wire? No thanks. KC all the way
