Abraham M. you're right but... kind of wrong, too? Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD did not "pass" through the same process of HD remaster, you should compare both Gamecube version to make a better point, there you notice which one has the timeless art direction

Yeah I got it then and only just now finished it....one of the best damn games I have ever played. It's deep and emotional...on the same level as greats like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus , Journey and Flower.

Killer7 was properly cel shaded. What about Windwaker and BotW's characters?

botw is cell shaded. Along with that dragonballZ fighting game Its some of the best cell shading out there in games

In BotW the environment isn't cel shaded, but the characters are. For the characters, the light doesn't diffuse, and it leaves solid edges of light and shadow. The environment on the other hand, has a more realistic diffused lighting with soft shadows. Same goes for Windwaker.

Just finished it and the ending literally killed me. I struggled so hard to avoid the tears....fuck it's still fresh in my mind.

Well the performance problems aren't really that bad to be honest. That being said, it's mainly because of the incredible atmosphere and world. I don't want to go into much detail as it's a game best experienced going in blind, but I agree with the score 110%. Easily one of the most captivating experiences I've ever had while playing a game.

It is not Ico,.. but it is definitely up there. (Music makes it really pull the heart strings)

But didn't Damiani take half a star off Breath of the Wild for performance issues?

the half star talken from BotW was because he played the game without patches and experienced framerate issues that were strange even for that version of the game, if he was to review the game now (which still has minor dips) he would give it a 5/5

Honestly it's mind-boggling that people still claim that Damiani deducted half a star from BotW due to performance reasons only. He clearly and explicitly took his time to explain that he was disappointed with the dungeons, which for a Zelda game are quite crucial. It's the combination of both factors that made it a 4.5. Also it makes no sense that you use that review as an example here, since the only criticism Damiani had was the performance issues and he gave it a 4.5, which would mean that it's consistent with BotW if we follow your logic.

The same happened to me except I already got and just started the game. I was skipping around the video when I heard Damiani talking about a game. I was like "wow! That game he's talking about sounds cool. I wonder what game he's talking about"... Then I rewinded to the beginning of Damiani's part. I felt sick when I found out he was talking about Rime. I was about an hour into the game and I was looking forward to playing more, but after getting the ending spoiled, I lost all motivation to play and haven't played it since

This all depends on the personality of the person. If you're a introverted and peaceful guy that likes solitude or intellectual things and taking your time to explore and figure things out this is the world you want to be in. It's an escape. If you're a loud and extroverted person and need lots of things to do to distract you and keep you busy, this is NOT the game for you. Basically, it's like how a happy person cannot understand what a depressed person feels like.
