no. only displaying it in combat with the intent of deception is a war crime. and proving intent is almost impossible. so as almost all other geneva convention war crimes, its a worthless platitude that at BEST can only be levelled against weak and poor nations.

@@fl3m1n9o4 Good question! The answer is no because the flag of England reaches the end of the flag and is the flag for a single nationality. Meanwhile the red cross doesn't reach the end of the flag, the cross's points are of equal end, and it is a flag recognized internationally

I believe that any use of the symbol that isn't authorised and for medical purposes is a violation of the Geneva convention, even completely private use, though I'm not 100 percent sure of that. In video games you'll often see a white cross on a red background to avoid this.

Hey Doug, if you’re wondering why your colonist with guns just stood there while being beat, it’s because you have to be at least 3-4 steps away from them. If the enemy in your colonist’s face, the colonist will have to melee instead. When you see the enemy getting closer, back up and try getting behind something.
