In this episode of The Average Joe Fisherman, it's the last week of October. Most Trout streams in Michigan are closed, but not all. Fishing for trout in Michigan can be a year around activity so I decided to take half and day off from work to chase small creek big Brown Trout. Spinner fishing for Trout in the Fall is probably the best time of year for finding big Brown Trout, or river monsters as I like to call them. The spawn is on and the fish are aggressive. Spinner fishing small creeks in Michigan this time of year can lead to surprisingly large Trout. The key to fishing in the fall is to not target anything that's on a bed. It's not much different than fishing for Salmon in the Fall or Steelhead in the spring. Let the spawning fish do their thing.
