Wow! Definitely some of the best trophy truck footage ever recorded! Gives a true perspective of how fast these rigs really are across the desert. (And how mad Robby Gordon is) And that sound...... mmmm mm. Pure music to my ears
The level of trust displayed is astonishing.. drafting and rear ending on a single lane dirt path at 100 mph... It looked and sounded like a tarantino chase scene...lol
@@edsonbojorquez2913 I used to race dirt bikes in enduro, been in similar situations as this video, there is a level of trust among racers- trusting that the guy in front of me is capable of going fast through tough sections and not to suddenly brake hard. Drivers has to trust each other skillwise in competitive racing.
@@TRKISH324 i remember when f1 was discussing how quiet the new cars were and/or the electric several years ago, they actually considered a sound system to simulate the old engine sound, and actually did put skid plates on the tub to throw sparks
He's actually staying close to stay out of the dust and have clean air to pass in for visibility. Yes, its even better being behind the wheel of the rig behind KNOWING you have the vehicle power, ability and clean passing room ahead to blow their doors off when you FLY past them. You can see Robby "nerf him" a couple times just a little bit before he passes, thats letting the guy in front know hat your gunna pass or punt them soon. I prefer the passing! Sling shot right on by them and they dont even know your coming till, they are suckin your dust!
-Here's yer shine... On record time! ? There's only one bottle rolling around an empty box back here, where's the other cases!? -We had some rough terrain..
I love going fast. It is awesome to watch these two dicing back and forth at these speeds. To be that close not know what he is going to run up on is hair raising. Had my heart pounding
This shows how smart he is because he has to get close enough to have the dust blow by below him not blocking his vision so he can see to set up the pass.. But he is such a good driver that he slams the brake and avoids hitting the guy. He literally drove over bushes to get around the guy. Much respect for his skills. He RACES EVERYTHING!
Big Robby Gordon fan! The man would race anything on wheels with half of mosts budget and kick your ass.Met him in Martinsville at a Nascar race and while getting his autogragh he was calling out a vendor that was selling his merch for not having an agreement to do so.Owner, driver, mechanic and Business man!! And one of the true kings of the desert!!
I remember around 1994 I was codriving my first race in a class 7 truck. I am like, "holy sht, we are flying." Then I hear a super loud roar and the HUGE horsepower Dick Cepek trophy truck flies by like we were standing still.
Lets appreciate that this is seen through a wide angle lens. The guy is so close that he is able to keep out of the dust and maintain clear visibility.
I (or you) cannot imagine traveling at this speed through the desert and having someone tailgating within mere feet trying to overtake at every chance possible.
Can anybody else picture how old mate was feeling having Robby Gordon chasing you through one of the quickest sections of offroad in the in the world!! Nervs would be through the roof!!
You listen to the gas and you can tell the guy wasn't holding it to the floor. when Robby Gordon got on his ass he almost never let up off the throttle hahaha just goes to show you how badass Robby Gordon truly is.
What I notice is when RG is up close, the dirt is blowing by the sides, and not in the windshield. Probably why he was "drafting" and waiting for the time to pass.
Slow the video down to 0.5x speed and that's how fast I'd be driving through that path. lmaoo these guys are *MAD MEN!* crazy skills, hats off to the drivers👏👏👏 my booty was clenched tight the while time and I wasn't even there😂😂😂😂
