As an artist and producer, Pharrell is probably Tyler's biggest influence. The guy apparently at one time produced 43% of all songs on American radio. He was the original "weirdo black skater dude" & funny you mention Tyler at the Grammy's because Pharrell got sh*t for wearing a tuxedo and shorts to the Oscars. But I will say Tyler is a weirdo to the industry but ALSO to normal people. I think he's a little too irreverent and honest for most people but which is also why he has such a cult following. Btw, I'm fairly certain he's not talking about the same girl. When he said you had roots he meant her and the other guy and he was on the surface... Which makes me realise that Tyler seems to fall in love with people who are in relationships a lot 😅 That's literally the storyline of IGOR just with a guy instead of a girl.

Based on the very little I've seen, I think Tyler is a decent person. I enjoyed his Grammy speech with his mom there. I saw a clip or two of him on talk shows (he almost seems uncomfortable on them, another good sign imo). I'm sure he has his flaws and his quirks (who doesn't), but the dude seems pretty legit to me. Thanks for the write-up on Pharrell also. I had no idea he was so involved with the music industry.

This song is about a girl that the whole Wolf album storyline is based around. If you listen to the whole album, it'll tell you the story. This song makes a lot more sense in the context of the album but its still great on it's own. This album is one of my favourites just because all the songs together tell a coherent story.

If you haven’t already, you should check out some of his music videos. As great as he is as a rapper, his visual creativity is on a different level compared to everyone else. If I’m not mistaken, I know up to this point he was directing all of them himself, not sure if that’s the case still with his newer music. From what you posted already, he made videos for she, Yonkers, domo23, answer, tamale and this song.

In the beginning of the video you said you know very little of Pharrell, which made me sad and excited at the same time honestly :D I would totally recommend you to check out his band N.E.R.D. with Chad Hugo (1/2 of the Neptunes) and Shay Haley! You can kisten to their album "In search of..." which has rock influences. Would love to see you reaction :)

enjoying the videos man not sure if you’re doing more tracks from Wolf before moving on but 48 is really good too if you need suggestions for Cherry Bomb I’d go for: DEATHCAMP - opening track CHERRY BOMB - distortion heaven/nightmare FUCKING YOUNG - sweet… almost THE BROWN STAINS OF DARKEESE LATIFAH - a banger SMUCKERS - also a hit

For cherry bomb, the songs I would suggest is: deathcamp, find your wings, fucking young/perfect, smuckers, okaga ca. In my opinion, cherry bomb isn't as good as albums like wolf or flower boy or igor but the 5 songs I suggested are highlights and are super super good, okaga ca being my favourite tyler song of all time

I've thought about this a lot. I really have. There are some videos where I finish recording and then I listen to the song again and here something new or notice an important lyric I missed the first time. I've found myself (lately) focusing a little less on the lyrics, and I wonder if that's good or bad. Ultimately, I decided to not overthink it and just enjoy each track in one go, letting either lyric or beat jump out and grab me as they do. There's also an issue of time. If I did two listens of a song, each video would get close to 30 minutes (not necessarily bad, but time for recording is always a factor for me unfortunately). AND I'd like to react to videos also... it's a challenge to find the right balance.

@@bobthepoppop understandable. People that didn’t grow up on hiphop have a hard time keeping up with lyrics. I just recommend using as few senses as possible. Cause when you’re using eyes it kinda takes away from the ear (which is most important). A first reaction is still genuine if you don’t catch all the lyrics! As a huge fan of Tyler I’d like to see what stands out to you kinda how you said.
