Just the greatest ever. Saw him 25 times (lived in LA; Indian Wells is such a great place to see tennis). Won 19 of them, 11 finals. But win or lose not a single match without multiple shots by Federer that were simply beyond belief. No one has ever played or will ever play tennis like this man. And so gracious to his fans, especially kids. I stayed after matches, after his interviews, and he would sign everything that every child asked him to sign. Not necessarily the adults. Always, without fail, the kids.

Tiger, MJ, Maradona, Federer. These were the icons of their sport that transcended their games because they did things nobody else could do and still win. They played with such flair and passion that even people who were not big fans of their sport would be glued to their screens because there was always a chance of seeing something miraculous, something that you will only see once in a lifetime from a once in a lifetime sportsman.

Just think. Djokovic won most of his slams and titles AFTER age 30. Which means he either peaked in his 30s, or simply got lucky playing in the weakest era of all time. Occam's Razor easily tells us which one of these assumptions is correct.

And Federer won most of his slams before Djokovic peaked, what’s your point? It seems they both were able to challenge each other to bring each other to greater heights, Nadal included in this obviously. All great players in their own right, stop trying to bring down one to bring up another.

@@garrettward9005Federer and Djokovic are like comparing a Ferrari to a Toyota Corolla -- they're both very different cars, but are both GOATs in their own ways. Federer the Ferrari easily beats the Corolla when it comes to peak performance, elegance, and aesthetics. Very few people are able to drive one or compete with it in high-speed encounters. The Ferrari oozes class, and for this reason many poor uneducated people resent it. Meanwhile, Djokovic the Corolla is built for the everyday family man. It has no thrills and looks very average. Where it shines is how long it lasts -- it won't beat any car in a drag race, but it will keep going and going without breaking down. It's reliable. So what would you rather drive - Federer the Ferrari or Djokovic the Corolla?

I agree, they have different styles and different strengths/weaknesses. To be frank I enjoy watching Federer more than Djokovic. I’m simply pointing out that a subjective argument could be made for either, which is why I get irritated when people choose to argue who is the GOAT off of stylistic arguments or who played in a harder generation, there simply aren’t ways to quantify that. I don’t care who the GOAT is between Federer or Djokovic, again, both incredibly talented and impactful tennis players, but one player does have cold, hard, undeniable numbers on his side, and I don’t understand how people ignore that.

@@initialize21I am not sure why Corolla destroyed Ferrari many times when Ferrari is made up of more quality material. So I think your comparison is not accurate 😂 More like Djokovic is Porsche-class and respect and durable and Federer is honda Civic -everyone loves and well known

Any of them playing alone will win 2-3 slams per year. Novak has the perfect time for the last few years. Notice that Nadal was winning everything in 2022 until he got hurt when Novak was out. Fed would be doing the same thing right now. They are all that good.

His records are and will be broken (a part from one, can you guess which?), but none will do the same things with a racquet and a ball. Like Maradona, the greatest without being the most successful.
