Nice souvenirs from that time.... ! When I was a child of 7 years old I saw this serie I was my idol in that time with my grandfather together saw every chapters of Simon Templar with Roger Moore great actor very friendly, off course always with good humor ... ! Thanks, me. Grillo.
And to paraphrase the wonderful Mr Moore himself, now he's just handsome. He's still a class act and how fortunate we are to have him so fabulously immortalised in such an excellent TV series that was tailored to all his strengths. He made it all look so easy and natural. A genuine star in my book.
Michael Snyder yeah but we've always got a bountiful supply of classics to fall back onto. Besides it's the era that gives these shows their pedigree. If they were made today, we'd end up with overly produced, glossy, cookie cutter soulless drama that is modern TV. So many superbly made shows from the 60s & 70s still available to us retro fans.
R.i.p....Wielu próbowało.Nie powalił Cię ,, Zabójczy widok" , nie dał ci rady ,,Człowiek ze złotym pistoletem" , ,,Żyłeś i pozwalałeś umrzeć" a teraz teraz nadszedł czas na Ciebie i choroba cię pokonała. You'll never be forgotten.
I never saw The Saint before I first saw the James Bond movies. I recently watched it on ITV4. I was surprised when I discovered that Roger Moore directed a few episodes. After watching several episodes, I actually thought Roger Moore was better as Simon Templar than as 007. I think because Sean Connery is my favourite Bond, I prefer to focus on Roger Moore in The Saint more than in the Bond movies. Plus he was much younger then.
For me Roger will always be Simon Templar first and foremost (and after that, Brett Sinclair in "The persuaders"). He was a great Bond in his time no question, but I agree, those early Saints cant be beat and Roger made them unforgettable. So much so that I consider the Saint my favourite series of all time. ✌🏽
Roger Moore's portrayal of The Saint, especially during the b/w years, had more of an urbane ruthlessness, an "edge", if you will, which is true to the original stories. I always believed that Sir Roger was more dangerous as Simon Templar than James Bond. And worked without all the gadgetry, too. Actually, Leslie Charteris' legendary creation predated Ian Fleming's novels by decades. I first discovered THE SAINT on NBC-TV in the late 1960's, and reacquainted myself with Simon Templar in the late '70's, thanks to Ian Ogilvy. Roger Moore's portrayal of Simon Templar was my lifelong hero and cultural icon. Thank you, Sir, for fond memories, and the personification of a romantic ideal. "For all the Saints, who, from their labours, rest..." R.I.P. Sir Roger Moore
That's what road racing used to be, or GTO, where you drive your road car to the track & race it. C&D said of M X6 you could use it to tow your race car to the track & then race your tow car.

When I was a young boy back in the 60's, I wanted to grow up and be like the famous Simon Templar ! But I didn't quite make it, for one thing, I was not good looking, and I was never that cool !
