Coherent breathing is a fascinating yet simple technique that brings your autonomic nervous system into a state of “coherence” - all of your internal rhythms begin to synchronise, and your nervous system comes into a uniquely efficient state of balance - giving you almost unbelievable health benefits… with minimal effort.
In this interview, Heartmath co-founder and biofeedback researcher, Dr Rollin McCraty shares his scientific approach to studying the phenomenon whilst highlighting the power of including emotion and compassion in the meditative process to supercharge its benefits.
Get a copy of his book “Heart Intelligence” here to learn more about the technique:

I am a certified Heartmath Coach mentor. But I like to work using my horses. HeartMath did the science to show what the horses was doing or the horses heart was doing when in its EMF. I knew there was some sort of magic happening and when I saw their study it put science to what I felt. It was that study that was the decision to become certified with them. So many of us look at each other as nothing but a solid physical body and cannot look deeper into the frequency. It's all frequency...

Thank you for sharing Denice! I have interviews coming up with Stephen Elliott and Dr Alan Watkins, both also experts in coherence so feel free to subscribe if that would be interesting to your work.

Rollin McCraty has such a great way of explaining things, this is my 4th interview/talk I’ve seen of his and there’s almost no difference sentence by sentence of how he explains. So concise!

I have been piercing everything I found about the Breath for my Trauma related work. I became a Buteyko Breath Instructor. THIS here is the most amazing science about how the Breath influences really: A coherent psycho-physiological relationship of the Breath on Heart Breath on Vagus Nerve on Amygdala (there is a set Rythm in the Amygdala that is why people having a hard time to breath correctly!!) OMG this is incredible.

Omg!! This video was just amazing. Science confirms what ancient traditions knew thousands years ago. We can create our reality... It's unbelievable all the things I ignored in this world. 🌎 These topic make me wonder how much does technological devices affect the human magnetic field. Thanks a lot!

So whats the difference between Heart Coherence and Heart Rate Variation? They sound like opposites, but both are good for you?

10:00 For me, this raises the question of whether a pacemaker ultimately contributes to the patient's declining health?
@gridspir
@gridspir 4 месяца назад
Interesting question. But doesn’t the pacemaker only kick in when the heart rate goes into fibrillation, which is an incoherent, ineffective fluttering rather than a blood moving beat… so maybe not?
@deadbydawn745
@deadbydawn745 4 месяца назад
@@gridspirA good point I haven't considered at all. What I had in mind were two conditions where the heart beats either too slow (bradycardia) or too fast (tachycardia). But what you said is also true. So apparently there are indeed cases where the job of a pm is to regulate the heart rate permanently.

Yes indeed, the older generation had it right. The spirituality movement was really getting started in the 60’s and 70’s. I still have my Grandmothers original book titled “The ABC’s of spirituality” from the 60’s. My whole life I have grown up in this type of mindset. I’m glad I never cared about people thinking I’m weird. 😂

How does a healthy heart resonance work with those who are mentally I'll and with those who have neurological problems that interfere with the human organism's ability to make the connections and synapsis?
@AriaBreath
@AriaBreath 4 года назад
Maureen Sinisi Hi Maureen, thanks for your question. Coherent breathing techniques are a healthy intervention for the majority of people and can be of particular benefit for certain mental disorders. Currently it is shown to have powerful positive effects for those with anxiety, depression and PTSD but should be used in the presence of a mental health professional in some cases, for example where the condition involves dissociative tendencies that may be triggered by meditative states. I have another video on my channel where I interview doctors Patricia Gerbarg and Richard Brown - if you would like to hear more about the science and they also talk in detail about the various ways they have used the technique to help people in different clinical circumstances. I highly recommend their excellent book ‘The Healing Power of the Breath’. Let me know if you have any other questions!

other Heart Math certified trainers told me it works with autistic children. I have no experience in that realm. My feeling is the Heart will , over time, recalibrate the entire nervous system into more and more coherence and therefore physical, mental, and emotional integration ...and that's been my experience using Heart Math

He mentions that they came up with “many techniques” a few times in the interview. What are they? I get the science and concepts behind it all, but how can we actually practice? Thank you.
@AriaBreath

Hi patmat3608, thanks for checking out the channel. The Heartmath techniqes focus primarily around directing your awareness inside your body towards your heart and slowing your breath down. If you'd like to try something similar, I have lots of free materials available via my website AriaBreath.com

Yes, and China, and Hawaii, and Russia! It’s been discovered by many traditions over the centuries. Biofeedback scientists are simply the latest to rediscover it and add to the story, with new technologies and theories.

What frustrates me about this stuff is the fact that an entire hour interview doesn’t take the listener beyond a touchy feely description of what’s actually going. Stuff is repeated over and over but the actual data described is scant to say the least. Where’s the discipline? Where’s the science? Where’s the freaking data? Do you think your listeners can’t handle the rigor? Or is there no rigor? So much promise but this stuff never seems to get beyond woo woo.
