The interactive session begins @ 03:33
Please listen to the health recommendations and safety info if you have not practised circular breathing before.
Paul Hughes is the Director of Vivation International and is the most experienced Vivation teacher in the world today, having taught over 10,000 people in 53 countries.
One big difference between Vivation and other types of circular breathing is its emphasis on maintaining awareness of the strongest feeling in the
body, and breathing through that feeling.
The 5 elements of Vivation:
1. Circular breathing
2. Complete relaxation (especially on exhalation)
3. Awareness in detail (especially on inhalation)
4. Integration into ecstasy (dropping resistance to experience changes it)
5. Do whatever you do ¬- willingness is enough (you can’t get it wrong)
The three points to remember:
1. Explore the subtle changes
2. Inhale through the strongest feeling
3. Enjoy this moment as much as you can?
The philosophy behind this technique is really interesting so I hope you enjoy hearing what Paul has to say.

HEALTH WARNING
This recording suggests a circular breathing rhythm.
Circular breathing should NOT be practiced if you…
1. Are pregnant, or think that you may be.
2. Have high blood pressure or heart disease.
3. Have post-traumatic stress (PTSD) or a history of psychosis.

DISCLAIMER
Conscious breathing exercises can induce strong mental and somatic experiences.
You may experience powerful effects including surges of emotion, bodily tingling, increased heart rate and muscle contractions.
The prompts in this recording are suggestions only.
You are responsible for yourself. Listen to your own body.
Trust your own experience and stop immediately if you feel unsure or unwell.
If you have any physical or mental health concerns, consult your medical professional before engaging in any conscious breathing practices.
Conscious breathing techniques should never be practiced whilst driving or operating heavy machinery.
The instructions in this video are not to be taken as medical advice.
This channel, its creators, its partners, and its featured speakers accept no liability for adverse reactions.
All rapid breathing practices can stimulate the sympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system. This energetic stimulation can be experienced as anxiety.
If you already have anxiety, I recommend watching the videos on this channel about coherent breathing instead.

I practice with this session provided here regularly. It helps in stormy weather as well as in upkeeping with inner goings -on routinely. As Paul admits tenderly: "I love this stuff!" So do I! !! A million THANKS to both of you🙏❤❤❤

Since your health recommendation indicate that this method is not appropriate for people who have PTSD or chronic anxiety, are there other healing modalities you can recommend for those people?
@AriaBreath
@AriaBreath 11 месяцев назад
Hi @makemerry yes, please check out my website AriaBreath.com where I explain the science behind slow, rhythmic breathing and the evidence-based reasons it heals the impact of trauma on the nervous system. Just to be clear, lots of people with PTSD and anxiety find Vivation very rewarding when doing it with a personal coach, I included these warnings just so that people do not practice alone :)

Is this suitable for mild anxiety?

I get so dry in my mouth when breathing with my mouth open, and saliva is produced, so I have to swallow. Is that ok?
@AriaBreath
@AriaBreath 7 месяцев назад
Totally fine Helle, and you can always switch to nose breathing in Vivation.

@@AriaBreath what did you like about it?
@AriaBreath
@AriaBreath 2 года назад
@@happyhippo5880 I read it as essentially a practical (and breath-based) guide to “radical acceptance” (although Jim Leonard didn’t use that term). And I thought a lot of it was very pithily written and no-nonsense. If you’re looking for good books about breathing, you might like to check out my book, “Draw Breath; The Art of Breathing” 😁
