In this video, I explore a route which starts along the peaceful Ancaster Valley Nature Reserve. The hike then takes in the historical village of Ancaster which was once a Roman settlement situated on Ermine Street, a Roman road linking London with York.
After discovering lots of Roman history in the church of St Martin's I continue to make my way along the idyllic Woodland Waters and stop for lunch. The weather was hot as the UK has been experiencing a heatwave during the end of June.
A great hike of around 4.5 miles.

@@HikingForHealth1 very well thanks, I was thinking of you when I crossed from the northern edge to Edale Moor trig and had to get to ringing Roger... Follow the wire fence! Thanks once again. Great camp on RR, and had a phone call at 1am to say my fourth grandchild had just been born! Life is good!

Thank you! Yes, it’s been a warm week. I do remember visiting NZealand in the February of 2006 and arrived when it was your summer. What a contrast to February in the UK. Great memories of a super trip. Thanks for watching! 😀
