New Jeans went from being “who is this group” to single-handedly flipping the entire K-pop industry on its head with only 4 songs to their name. Can you believe that

The fact that New jeans with only a debut album has basically half of the points of I’ve with 3 albums…imagine the 2nd album. New Jeans is rocking rn and scaring most stans. A Gucci ambassador, Nations First Love. They actually have a clear title for Nations GG. The industry loves New jeans, our favs are singing their songs. Variety shows mention them (Knowing Bros) cast sang attention. Yet New Jeans has not even been to any variety shows. Also, 100+ companies asking them for advertising their products…they’re everywhere and it’s hard to not see them. New Jeans made this year memorable.

Stanning NewJeans was life-changing for me 🤣🤣. Their charisma is just on a different level, they are different.

NewJeans are the only ones who don't sound like most of kpop.. Their music alone is dope. Add cool visuals, video concepts.. I love them... Honestly, being a 24 y.o kpop stan I got almost tired of the same concepts for years and NewJeans has me vibing to their songs on repeat like the old times

Even K-celebrities and other Idols are fangirling over NewJeans. That shows how impactful and famous they are.

I think IVE has been consistent throughout the year, had a big song with love dive, and has gradually made their presence known within the kpop space. New Jeans' impact is so undeniable though. I cannot remember the last time so many idols in the industry and in the media at large have signed off on a rookie group less than a full month into their promotions. I like both groups though. It's so hard to think which will win, only that both groups could get it.

I think unfortunately New Jeans debuted too recently for them to win. Although their debut has shown they’re absolute monster rookies I think IVE will take it out. Especially bc they’re quite popular in Korea for a while. But give NJ a couple comebacks and I think they will shoot up even more in popularity bc they’re already idols among idols. However I do wish Le Sserafim would win. I think their stage presence and overall package is better than IVEs. But IVEs got the popularity in Korea.

Newjeans drew me back into the world of kpop. I have been away from Kpop for years, but these girls surprised me with their song Attention! I was curious about their other songs, so I gave them a listen and fell in love with them all! I am excited for these girls. I just know they’re going to do so well!

When newjeans debuted, I had zero expectations of them being any different from the rest of 4th gen groups or hybe in general. But THEY HAVE THE COOLEST CONCEPT. Not many people are acknowledging this but they have the coolest vibe and they are gonna be the most respected idols in the future.

im a producer and new jeans has mire quality music the mixing on they're songs is cleaner and they're style is more risky. Also I noticed in numbers you didn't mention the fact that new jeans had the fourth highest peak of monthly listeners out of the entire k pop industry after BTS BLACKPINK and TWICE. also being one of three girl groups to make it in the top 10 of the United states I tunes. they also had higher debuts on the billboard charts

Just seeing what New Jeans achieved with ONLY 3 songs is SHOCKING!! They are the BEST rookies by far, but not only of this year...I'd say propbably they are one of the rookies with one of the best if not the best debut songs ever! HYPE BOY is a bop!

For me my ROTY in terms of girl groups this year imo is New Jeans. When they debuted this year, it felt like old school kpop again in terms of sound, content, concept, etc. also: if you weren’t singing along to Attention and or Hype Boy this year, then did you really get under New Jean’s spell this year? Also the MMA’s got announced and their nominated in the Daesung category in the Album of the Year catergory for their debut album. When was the last time we had a group be nominated for a Daesung in their DEBUT year?! I think Le Serrafim should win too because they had an awesome debut year as well.

In my opinion, the fact that NewJeans' entire EP did so good it feels like they had 3 title tracks is hurting IVE's chances on winning + their music is more GP friendly And I think Newjeans is having a comeback in December

Honestly, its gotta be newjeans. If we compare their album debut, newjeans got the upper hand. And if they debuted earlier like ive, then they'll be even more famous than ive. Ive has been in the industry longer than newjeans now. So ofcourse they got a lot of accomplishment. Its just the matter of how long they've been in the industry

I think IVE should win. Even tho people love to say they didn’t do as good as NewJeans at debut that doesn’t really matter to me because love dive was EVERYWHERE when it blew up and both it and after like got an all kill. They have so much popularity in Korea and have done so much this whole year. NewJeans would’ve been better off if they debuted sooner but I really think IVE should get it with them being consistent the whole year and all the wins they’ve gotten.

even if newjeans doesn't win anything, i'm super proud of them. they really left a mark in the industry and prove anyone who doubt them wrong. i honestly would love if the jeanies win at least one roty bc they deserve it but yeah, it's difficult to win against ive's numbers.

i like both groups (mostly ive). i think they don't have equal amount of sucess bc newjeans exploded in the west but they don't have a sustainable fanbase. just because your songs trends on tiktok doesn't guarantee fans who will stan you and return just look at many artists who blew up on tiktok but then fell off after a year. however i hope they suceed. currently for ive they've grown their fanbase into a strong one, i really hope the same happens to newjeans

For me IVE has more loyal fans, because a lot of people said that Kitsch was a very bad comeback and yet their fans still streamed it, but when NEW JEANS released Zero, their fans weren't loyal and only some streamed it, also a lot of people hated Zero, but in my opinion Zero by NEW JEANS is really good!

New jeans songs r nice, light and fresh. But with I’ve the quality is THERE. U can feel it in your soul and resonate with the sound. New jeans is like a fresh breeze but I’ve is like a sonic boom that you can feel in your very being.

Both are good groups, but personally IVE deserves it, nj if they had debuted in another year they would have had a rookie grand slam. With Ive not only their physical and digital numbers are greater, but the impact not only in Korea but within the world kpop community, I can even say outside of kpop (when dear cupid went viral), there are more people interested, and each song that they not only "rank well" but it literally becomes a hit. They don't compete with rookies, but with big groups, they reached that level until now with less than a debut year, so it went so well, that I not only expect a roty but a daesang either from soty or aoty, if it's better In both, it would seem perfect to me.

For me personally, I think IVE takes the fan voting and New Jeans takes the pure quality. I agree with what you said about New Jeans's fans having been through it all, but I think IVE's fanbase still has an overwhelming advantage just because of their size. I think New Jeans can't beat that, no matter how dedicated their fans are. For pure quality, it's not even close for me. New Jeans's EP is a masterpiece. Every song is not just great, but unique as well. The unique soundscape, the well-written melodies, everything about their music is perfect. And even from an objective standpoint, I genuinely think music experts will pick New Jeans's music over IVE. This is not to discredit IVE tho, Eleven and Love Dive are absolute bangers. It's just that New Jeans is on a whole 'nother level. But yeah IVE will take all the ROTYs

What got me hooked to New Jeans was their music. Finally something different and unique but still wholesome and cute. New Jeans is the next big thing.

i love ive songs and they have a special place in my heart but the way new jeans just didn't even asked if I wanted them to be my new utt group was unforgettable. these girls are gonna be as huge as blackpink if not more. blackpink was just as huge as them in their debut, and if they went BIG with only 1 comeback a year, imagine what could new jeans do being as famous as them and having a normal comeback schedule. that's why they're my utt group, i can see them being huge with bop songs

As a music major myself, I believe that pure quality should most definitely go to New Jeans and I’m not even a gg stan. For MY taste and little knowledge, music production wise, NewJeans songs are SO different to what I’ve been listening lately from ggs. The quality in the beats not to mention the creativity, takes the cake. It’s such a new and fresh sound that they are the only gg that’s caught my attention (no pun intended) purely from their music. IVE has more songs/bigger discography yes but thats exactly what makes NewJeans better (in my opinion) as they only have 4 songs (correct me if I’m wrong) till date and look at their impact.

I feel like people forget that when they compare IVE and New Jeans, they are comparing a group from a mid sized company to a group from a company on par with the big 3 (JYP, YG, SM)... Even if you compare IVE's Debut to New Jean's debut, its very obvious who had more money invested into them. IVE had a lackluster MV with maybe 3 total sets used, some props, and 2 CGI sequences...like the budget was not very high, they were literally dancing on a platform while the camera pointed at the sky 😭. While New jeans had multiple performance videos/performance versions, multiple MVs/MV versions, and multiple special videos (all of which were high quality and had some cute CGi/nice editing). I feel like people try to use the fact that IVE has 2 ex IZ*ONE members to discredit their success, as if that means anything since 8/12 former IZ*ONE members aren't even seeing 1/10th of IVE's success (stream Eunbi so she can eat yall PLEASE 😭). These are the same people comparing a well thought-out MINI album with mass promotion to a SINGLE album with 2 MVs (OFFICAL & MV cut extras), no promotion for their B side, and a performance video sponsored/funded by Amazon. As for the video I feel like the whole "IVE doesn't have a scandal" thing is untrue since both groups had a scandal (mainly due to the age of their members) that are similar in terms of reaction/outrage. Also the whole "I don't think they will vote" thing is kind of also false since ELEVEN had 13 wins and After LIKE is on its 14th win compared to Attention that only had 5 wins. Love both of these groups but the comparisons are not extremely profound 😭

A problem with New Jeans is their concept. They’re popularity comes from them being “fresh”. The question is how long wil Fresh last? Their looks definitely contributed a lot the their fame. (Don’t fight me on this) especially their hair being natural, but they’ve already changed their concept to the Normal kpop theme. They’ve changed their hair. Their music is great but the thing about girl groups, everyone still looks for the newer, fresher version.

Though they tend to be overlooked what with all the big groups from known companies, but Billlie being a legitimate contender for ROTY has me so proud. Their albums are probably one of the most artistically unique(if you know, you know) I've liked aside from Red Velvet. All the rookie nominees this year are so good!

I disagree with the music quality. I feel like New Jeans music especially hype boy is very musically complex changing from different time signatures, complex rhythms and melodies. Attention just sounds expensive. IVE is great but there music isn’t as complex as new jeans

I think New Jeans appeared too late to win rookie of the year. They release 4 songs close together which was an interesting decision. All their songs are good and they definitely caught fire and they will be among the top kpop acts moving forward. But they didn’t have a comeback this year and that hurts their chances. IVE on the other hand had two comebacks and both comebacks were super successful. Nobody can dispute their popularity…they win almost every time they are up for a nomination. Both groups are amazing and will continue to dominate the market .. but I think the nod has to go to IVE for rookie of the year … next year New Jeans will win it. Look out for tripleS next year too… their subunits are starting to debut and their first subunit Acid Angel from Asia has caught fire with their debut.

Okay i dont stan niether of the groups but ive and newjeans concept really impresses me. Newjeans reminds me od those 2000 kpop with lil of pop, and ive is entirely kpop reminding me of royalty. Newjeans ditto really made me love them, but what adds up to people liking them is the concept and story also there visuals. However recently, newjeans songs are like those bside songs that got released as main tittle track. Its not the same as ive. But i do like what newjeans try to do by releasing those simple yet beautiful songs as main tittle track. Whereas ive main track really is main track. Very uniquc its like both the concept arw super interesting. I hope people would give ive the same love as newjeans cause they too are equally unique. Anyqays.

IVE deserved the win regardless of what bunnies say. Le Sserafim was the other group I guessed but NewJeans wasn't really in my guesses. IVE wiped out all competition the moment Love Dive dropped. Obviously NewJeans did too but that also came with a huge controversy in South Korea and internationally. All of IVE's controversies have only been little but it's their own antis that make it seem like the end of the world and belittle them for the smallest things ever. NewJeans had less than ten songs out at the time when roty was given the award. IVE had the same amount too but it came down to popularity and most likely music too. I think NewJeans has a higher chance of winning a bigger award this year but obviously I'm not sure.

recently people saying that new jeans got famous because they are from hybe and their seniors are bts , seventeen. i mean whole SK was and is , going to be love their music, they were slaying on internet. they brought a uniqueness in kpop. but those IVE fans dont you think that ive is also previleged. As their seniors are MONSTAX ,two of ive member were already well known before debut. and most imp. wonyoung's it visual , it is same as new jeans from hybe. What i know is definitely koreans dont supports these specific label kind of things, they listen to songs which are good. Its a well known opinion everywhere that wonyoung brings more audience becuase of her face,otherwise not much would be interested in them.

There are 2 Ive songs that I really, really love. Especially Love Dive, I used to listen to it non-stop. But NewJeans’ music has an edge/advantage compared to anyone else: it’s fresh and sounds different from what we expect from kpop nowdays.
