I had a question When we overclock , it increases power consumption. So it increases power consumption when playing high graphic games or it will still use high power consumption while pc is standstill.?
Just got a Suprim X 4080, it's an awesome card even at stock settings, OC'd I've hit over 3Ghz but I'll follow this guide to check stability & averages. Thanks for all the tips.
I've lowered my 4090 power curve and slightly overclocked my card. This give me very marginally better than stock performance but with around 50w less power usage.
You wasted your time my 4090 suprim x is sitting at 12500mhz on the memory from +1500, and the gpu clock sits at 3125mhz from +205. If I turn Dlss on, my wattage drops from 510w to about 150w, but then if I cared about reducing my power usage, I wouldn't have bought a 4090.
@@fazercraig9652I’ve got the same card, when I try and oc to similar numbers it doesn’t always work with certain software. Do you mainly game? I try and test with 3d mark and it will bug out. But if I render with something like c4d or ue5, it works absolutely fine. But those numbers are great bro
I'm running the RTX 4090 SUPRIM Liquid X 24G. I don't play any games so I can't use that for reference, instead I use Kombustor and judge my stability using the artifact counter. I'm not pushing any voltage but my core clock is +190 and memory is +1700. I hit exactly 3000 MHZ while rendering out video with these settings and my temps hold 140 f. It will go faster like you said, but I need absolute stability over absolute peak performance. I know everybody uses games to judge performance, but try some Video upscaling if you want to see your system break down and cry right in front of you. Topaz Video AI will have your system on it's knees begging for mercy. My new $4k build can just barely squeak out 12.6 fps upscaling some video! But that's still more than twice the speed of my next fastest PC. Cheers 🍻
I could push my memory clock by 2000 without any problems. But core clock i can give like 200 before problems appear. But I keep it at 123+ and memory at 1770 for stability.
My Strix OC will do up to 3090mhz on the core in 3d mark but clocks down to 3050mhz once temps reach 60c. Mem +1200. PWR and Voltage sliders maxed out. In long gaming session temps around 55c-60c fans 60% with the above OC settings core stays around 3030-3050 haven’t seen it drop below 3ghz. Have EK full block on order hoping to get this bad boy to 3100mhz in games
Got myself the Suprim (non-X) and damn it is good. I've heard if you want to get better performance out of the OC you need to increase the VRAM values more importantly.
Great video. Seems most tend to only chase after that high score on a benchmark vs real world gaming set ups!! Can’t wait for my suprim x to arrive and see what f1 22 really looks like with all the settings on ultra.
@@trinitylovesyou6868 can’t recall fps numbers off hand but on the triple 2K monitors with the 3080 I had ray tracing off and wrap gifs dialed back slightly to get a good fps. With the 4090 and everything cranked Including ray tracing I was pushing higher fps. Moved to triple 4K monitors and had to dial it back slightly on the ray tracing etc to get a useable fps
One thing I disagree and keep see many people saying 25mhz frequency steps. For me since Pascal the more accurate steps are 15mhz. All effective core frequency for Nvidia are divisible by 15. You won't see a 2950 but you will see 2955. I may understand you want a larger step, but if so you could use 45 maybe. For me I feel easier working with 15
My founders 4090 will do 3,015MHz core drops to 2,985MHz as the card heats up at 1.050v, And +1,500 memory all day. If I go to 1.100v I get 3,090MHz core max, But the extra heat brings it back down to 3,045-3,060MHz.
Tom, i know it's unrelated, but i'm hearing there might be a 7990 from AMD soon. If so, i hope they send you a couple. Also, i hope you have an OG 7990 laying around somewhere, and can rig up an AM3 system and do a GPU comparison just for a laugh. I still have my Sabertooth R3 and 9590 system. Never letting that go. Plus the Titan Star Wars card goes nicely.
My suprim seems happy with +1800 on the mem in games +1900 few glitches on certain games. So around 12400mhz actual ddr6x Core wise 0 extra voltage so keep power limit lower and seeing 2940mhz actual boost no issues at all
@@FireTwo Care to share your Afterburner values for that slight OC? I moved Power Limit to 108%, but not sure how to set Core Clock (MHz) and Memory Clock (MHz) values in order to reach some stable gaming performances.... :|
great video thanks i have a question i have also rtx 4090 my stock voltage is 1.050 in my msiafterburner if i push the voltage slider all the way my voltage up to 1.1 can this damaged the card? can it gpu degradation?
LOL suprim X is good overall ! but the strix OC version is the best overall in everything ! overclocking, cooling, and stability also the Vram is just unbeatable
