Big respect my man I started my detailing business the same way 25 years ago and have grown it to a lucrative six figure business with multiple vehicles So keep growing your clients and business will increase beyond your greatest dreams 👊🏽
@@PennytheBALLstar13 yes my IG IS MOBILE CARVWASH AND DETAILING LAUREL MD FACEBOOK. mobile car wash and detailing I’m located in the dmv area Washingon Dc Virginia , Baltimore but most of my business is in Maryland
Awesome video bro. I'm just starting out myself and I was already looking into buying a Ford Transit Connect van just to be able to fit all my gear. Thanks to you now I know that I can work outta my '11 Toyota Camry. Keep up the great work and wish you all the best of success.
Miles Sisroe imma start detailing out of my car but how for the tubing how he uses it has a hose to the pressure washer imma get a 35 gallon water tank , and use that pump and get a Honda pressure washer gas power will tubing fit for both ?
Thank you so much for this video, I’m about to start my own detailing business but Im scared and worry because I drive a sedan. Now I have no excuse to start working hard !!!
Very neat and simple set up! I’m honestly stunned that you put a water tank in the trunk of this Fusion lol. You don’t need much to get started. Low key this set up reminds me of myself when I started. You’ll get there man just keep Detailing. It’s all about the upgrades.
KleenWerks Detailing I’m just doing this to cover my expenses while I’m in school. I don’t need it to be a long term business and I think it’s good to show that you don’t have to have a truck or van to be a mobile detailer!
I been doin the same thing minus the water tank started off in my lancer and my business doing better than I thought it would. Due to the fact I have to use they water source lol. Good shit bro! 💯💯💯
This is nuts!!! I started my mobile detailing 3 months ago and I drive a 14 Fusion Titanium. I have a 9 gallon craftsman shop vac. All chemicals, carpet extractor, polisher , craftsman 2000Psi pressure washer which is small so I store in the back seat, super light and easy to use , and easy to put inside when finished. When it came down to detailing cars most clients let me hook up to their hose but issue is water spots. I'm just shocked by your setup and respect it alot and glad to see I'm not the only one doing this out of their daily. That water tank is what I gotta look into asap. Generator would be next
Well you lucked out with that 2.0 engine and the sexy tail lights! The amazing thing about the Fusion is how deep the trunk is. Having my own water supply definitely makes it easier to have consistent results with rinsing.
Sick man! Everything was pretty general and expected but the water tank definitely was surprising. That’s the one thing that made this video stick out.
for a part time this is a great setup... but if you’re doing this full time, you should get a early 2000s chevy colorado or some light pickup truck. you could fit a 100 gallon tank, a power generator and everything you need without a tight fit
I can detail 2-3 cars with my 26 gallon tank. I’m good with that haha. I spend a lot of time on each car so I rarely have more than a couple cars in the same day
This is great. After learning how to take care of some issues on my own car, it occurred to me that I now had some newly acquired skills and tools that were potentially valuable as at least a part time gig. I really like your clean, organized setup. I’ll definitely have no trouble in my RAV4, but this helps me envision things. Thanks for the tour. (And I dig the tip on the HF headlight kit...hadn’t seen that before.)
When I first started I had to put everything into my Toyota 86. It’s a very small coupe but somehow managed to put everything in. Luckily now I have a truck.
Bro this amazing thank you so much for posting this! I run a mobile detailing business too but I do not have my own water supply so I definitely will be doing this!
I have a civic hatchback and trying to figure out how I can store and set up everything I need for my mobile detail 😁. Your set up is perfect for the size! 👍👍
Nope, Just select your equipment wisely and you can use just about anything! Worst case you could even remove the rear seats in whatever vehicle you have to make things fit!
Glad I could help!! I believe I posted exact measurements of the tank that I used here for someone in one of the other comments but let me know if you need them! I hope you can get everything setup and start making some money! I made back my initial investment in everything after about a week
I have a Acura TL only thing that will suck for me is that the seats don’t fold down like on your car but I plan on doing this this upcoming year all I need is a smaller pressure washer and a water tank and I can start detailing cars. Been buying all the stuff I need slowly these past couple of months
I got a Chevy impala and am so glad I found someone doing detail carrying everything in their car, my car is pretty large too, recently started puttting everything in my car too
Love your setup man. I've been thinking about getting into this business for a while to try to make some side hustle cash. I would definitely love to have a setup just like yours
I don't bring my own water but I do have everything needed on top of pressure washer shop vac carpet extractor steamer buckets chemicals hose and etc. It all fits in my mazda 3 hatchback
Same here man eventually I’m gonna save all that money and buy a ford van used at least 5k max and then buy a water tank and generator to gain more revenue . There’s people at their jobs with their car that needs to be detailed at their job with no hose and electric access . Even people at apartments and stuff
Thank to you, I went and bought me a water tank today. I’ve been wanting to start my own detail business for two years now and always felt like the van was holding me back. You gave me motivation bro to give this a try now. #noexcuses
Devin D awesome!! I’m glad you are going to give it a shot. Out of every business this is probably the cheapest startup cost! Check out my other video for creating invoices and receipts with a free app
Hey man thanks so much for this video. I starting my own deal and was concerned about mobilization because don't have a big car and this shows me that I can use my 07 charger instead of using my dads truck or moms jeep. I appreciate the video walking us through thanks so much man.
No problem! Its like a game of tetris to figure out where everything needs to be. If you are planning to do this mostly out of your car and you are pressed for space you can even remove the rear seats and build a shelf of some sort. I don't think you will have any trouble since Charger's are pretty big inside! I'm happy to help any way I can if you have questions
@@jacobbowlen33 I use a small craftsman 3gal one. its small but works just fine. I would recommend getting something that is small but has a relatively cheap or easy to come by filter. You will be vacuuming some nasty stuff some times
Just stumbled upon this video as I was looking for ideas to start my own wash/detail business. One thing I didn't see you address in this video is how you get your power for your pressure washer.
hey i got the same pressure washer same water pump and same water tank what is the hose that you using that you could put the clamps on and go through your water tank to the pressure washer? thanks for answering. detailing out of a mazda protege5
3/8 tubing. I would recommend the braided hose though rather than just the clear as it will be a bit more durable. You will still need a fitting for the pressure washer, male 3/8 hose barb to garden hose
That's great, thank you for your super time. Quick question: how you run the electric equipment when no power is available? Hope you can answer, and thank you again, I'm just one step away from the starting line. Bless.
I simply tell my clients that power is required. I do not want to hassle with a generator although it would be easy to add. I have never had any complaints
Planning on doing this in the new year. Working out of a car for now. Then eventually working out of a trailer. Doing some research at the moment, getting some ideas and watching vids on youtube. Good vid BTW.
Great set-up that doesn't require vans and trailers loaded with gear. And coincidentally, a concise video taking us through it, very unlike other detailers.
Bro believe it or not, I do full details out of my camaro! Right now I don’t have an extractor, tank, generator or steamer, but I’ve done over 40 cars with my current setup. I fit a pressure washer, vacuum, 3 buckets, a tool bag, all my chemicals, drill, cords and hoses in the trunk of my camaro. It is super packed but if I really needed a steamer or some other machine I could fit it in the back seats.
That is amazing how everything fits in your fusion lol Hey just had a question for you. Did you need a business license to start your detailing business?
I do not have a license since I was doing this as a side gig. If you are wanting to make it a full time thing I would suggest getting a license and insurance just to cover you in case something happens
I'm a beginner part-timer and have the same Sunjoe pressure washer but it's a bit of an odd shape for storing in the car. I am sorry I didn't get the small square one instead. IMO it would be great to simply have a water tank and small pressure washer in the vehicle and a long hose reel for the washer wand. No lifting the washer in and out. My ideal setup would be a van with everything in there, including a generator, so I can be totally self-sufficient. Another thing I'm noticing is how important the right cloth is for each job. Anyway, nice simple setup - keeping it un-convoluted, unlike many guys on YT saying you need this and that and every other thing that exists (trying to seel products) ;-)
I wired a switch in line and connected it to a constant power source. You could also wire a cigarette outlet connector to the end and just plug it in to the outlet as you need it. I opted for the wired solutions since it keeps things simple and tidy
Bryan Benitez I will find a switch that is easy to splice in. As for the power supply that is your car! You will need to find 12v power anywhere such as the cigarette outlet or similar connection
Bryan Benitez link to a switch JIANFA Car DIY Switch Paste Type Rocker Switch Off/ON Universal DC12V Switch for Fog Driving Lights neon Lights LED Light bar etc. (Black) www.amazon.com/dp/B07SRZCYTN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_e0pcEb8BGTEY0
Pretty sweet! I didn't want to get a van this is proof it can be done well. Thanks! You dont find the water tank effects anything while driving or the suspension?
It is no different than having 3 adults in your back seat. 1gal =8lbs a full tank weighs 208lbs. Of course you want to have the tank as far forward as possible so the weight it above the wheels. Overall though no issues with handling
If the tank is below half you will hear it sloshing around but as long as you have the lid on tight and the tank either wedged in or strapped down you won’t have any issues
For power I require the location to provide it. I have yet to have anyone complain about me using their power. I could easily run a generator for power but I don’t want to carry fuel inside the car. Hope this helps!
Love the set up! But you left me questioning... where is your power source? I thought pressure washer required electric power to pump out ? I didn’t see an electrical outlet in your vehicle, and also, did you wire the water pump directly to your car for power ?
I always use power on site. I tell my clients that that is my only requirement. I do this for several reasons. 1. It’s convenient 2. I don’t have to worry about a generator or gas or maintenance 3. No generator means no excessive noise I have NEVER had a customer complain or question my need to use their electricity. I suppose you could compare it to hiring a contractor to finish your basement. They will use your electricity to run their tools (saws, drills, etc). I had considered running a power inverter in my car but then I would need to leave my car running because it would draw the battery down relatively quickly. As for the pump it is wired directly to my cars battery with a switch. I did this because I wanted to be able to use the pump without leaving the keys in the car. The pump doesn’t use much power and only runs when you are releasing pressure. It maintains about 30psi then shuts off. I hope this answers all your questions! If not let me know!
Hey buddy , can u do a video on how u hooked up tank to washer etc? Thx! Just got my tank but had to order that clear hose as well as male/female adapters
From pump to pressure washer you will use the clear 3/8 hose then connect this with a hose clamp www.amazon.com/dp/B0131CPB84/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_62ZMFbCEZG4MZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
How are you powering your pressure washer? Off car battery power? Say there is no power outlet where the job is - are you having your car running to run the pressure washer? Huge question before I purchase a pressure washer. I have seen pump tanks with foam cannon attachments that’ll get the foam spray done.
I always use power on site. I tell my customers that is the only requirement. You could easily get a small generator but I don’t want to deal with the noise or gasoline
I use the Ryobi power washer the small electric one. Granted I just do my own car but since you’re mobile maybe that could be a better option? I like it and it’s fun overall cleaning my own car I never minded it
Very interested on how this is going for you. If you dont mind me asking, how much do you average a week and have you upgraded to a different vehicle for bigger things for your detailing.
It is going well. I haven’t been doing much recently due to going back to school but I had a lot of demand and would confirm at least 2-3 cars a week at about $100 minimum. I have not upgraded anything. This setup is perfect for the amount of detailing I am doing.
Is the water pump wired into your cars wiring or do you use an extra battery just for the pump? Seems like the pump is the only thing you don’t plug into an exterior power source. Please enlighten me
Yes it’s wired to the car battery. It is a 12v pump. I have a switch in-line so I can control it and I do not have to leave my keys in the car while detailing.
I been doing it from A Buick LeSabre but want a tank as well . What is the pump attached too? Just the tank and pressure washer?.. how much is one of these pressure washers???
Hose is from Home Depot. 3/8 with hose fitting on the end. Pump is wired to the car battery with a switch. I choose not to deal with a generator and use client power on location
I have it wired to my battery. I already had a power wire run to the back of my car for my subs. You could easily wire this in so you could plug it into a cigarette outlet though if you didn’t want to hardwire it
Cool thx again , this is the cheapest way to get started until u can get a van/truck etc. I clean cars in front of my apt complex lol. Gotta start somewhere lol. Anyway good luck and stay focused! 👍🏼
I had the hose clamps already. The hose is just clear 3/8” tubing from Home Depot. I am going to replace it with the clear braided hose that is reinforced. As for the 90deg fitting I ordered it from amazon. I can get you links to what I used in a bit
In my case I used the following (Dixon Valve & Coupling TCF73 Nylon Tuff-Lite Fitting, Short Shank Coupling, 3/4" GHT Female x 3/8" Hose ID Barbed www.amazon.com/dp/B007D5LJ50/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_JulvEbFJ3QGCV) this is on the tank then I used 3/8hose with hose clamps and clamped it onto my pump. From the pump I used the same 3/8” hose to the following connector (FP193-6 Brass Straight Male 3/8" Hose ID Barb - 3/4" GHT Male www.amazon.com/dp/B0131CPB84/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tvlvEbPHHPD95) which is the same as a regular garden hose. Hope this helps
Awesome! I am looking to get water source for my grand Cherokee setup so i don’t have to use customers water. How many vehicles can you wash with a 26 gallon tank?
The pump specs say 1.2 gpm but the pressure washer is rated higher than that, any issues with the pressure washer choking or pulling more water than the pump yet? I see they have an almost identical pump with slight let more gpm
Personally never had any trouble. My sun joe dies however not like when you stop spraying and immediately try to spray again. I have to let the pump in the sun joe spin down before starting but this happens when I am using any water source so it is not due to the little 12v pump. Again I’ve never had trouble. I even ran one of those little Ryobi pressure washers off it. I haven’t tried any gasoline pressure washers though
Reginald Peterson unfortunately no wireless mic. It’s a regular lavalier that was plugged into my iPhone in my pocket. Synced the audio after. The camera is a G7X Mark II so no way to add a mic 😞
