If you’re doing 3 days of intense training, would an additional 3 days of low HR training be counter productive to your recovery?

Did you get COVID and have you recovered now? Hope you're doing well. Most of my runs are ran off feel. Just the other day, I was running an easy pace, but then at mile 5, I got that runners high! So I figured, heck, let's send it!!! So I dropped the pace and went for it until I got home (around mile 8). Felt awesome!

It can only end in tears ..lol..My new metric is DFA alpha 1 .It has conveyed me that maf(Fatmax) changes from day to day and during runs and is determined by the length of the run.With maf running I was running too fast at the start of the runs and too slow at the end of the runs..ie 10 minutes into the run my maf is 115-120 and after 50 mins its 130-140,again different on different days.It's great doing negative splits on my runs again,Lydiard would have been proud of me :0)

I’m in health care like you. Our background shows us the myriad of things that affect HR. Literally dozens of things. So, because watches record HR, runners get stuck in HR based training as it’s pushed by the gear sellers. In reality, what you say here in this video is valid, be free! Rest with easy runs, but HR is a false God, just run easy as well as hard. The best female runner in my local club wins regional events…her HR is 165+ on every single workout (even her LSD runs) and she’s 26 years old. 😊 I recently have read and enjoy the training method of Easy Interval Training by Klaas Lok after a friend suggested I buy his book on Amazon (it’s short book but small print so worth the price). What an amazing and efficient method. I not only know I’m getting faster, I feel I’m getting fitter. 🏃‍♀️

If you run every single training on 165 you will get injured or you will plateu very fast. Its not great method in the longer run at all. I would go as far as to say its stupid way of training
