It seems like a quick hit to the bottom is better than twisting. The tests and reviews I have researched is showing the S2 is more powerful than the Byrna, has less drop in speed throughout the CO2 cartridge, and half the cost. Because of this, I went with the S2 and will have to deal with a quick hit to puncture. If Grimberg would come out with a trigger-to-punch or quick-hit-to-punch, I would definitely buy a Grimberg.
Absolutely! The S2 is the best all around less lethal out there right now. It's just not easy to carry on your person. But everyone will deal with that differently. It definitely has more power than the Byrna. The byrna is the best EDC out of the group but the Gavle is the most powerful. None of them have made the perfect weapon yet. But when it comes to the price and capability the S2 is definitely the way to go.
@@blackpowderpapa I agree. I would never EDC the S2. Looking to try less lethal for the first time and S2 seemed like a good entry point. Will be for truck or nightstand. Thanks for all your reviews. It was a good part of my research.
Maybe so, but that doesn't work for me at all, also, I've discovered on my side of the bed. When I lay it on the bedside table it automatically engages the safety because of the weight of the weapon. I love the power but it definitely has some issues that are coming up as I go
@@1cespicegrahh I sure wish mine had come broken like that. That would be amazing. I think it's the worst thing about the weapon. No less lethal should have a safety in my opinion.
There are some very nice fanny packs that fit this large a gun or launcher and are very fast access and conceal completely what you have!and when someone sees that huge muzzle you probably wont have to shoot but those mace pepperballs they have are the strongest you can get, wicked
Yeah I purchased a few and I received a few from @RapidAssaultDefense . There's definitely some great options out there. He also has some great pepper balls that he sent me to load up in the S2.
The mercury rise mub 50 is made the same way, its slimmer, ill say face shots is best especially on a mental, pcp etc if u dont have firearm and ppl even fight threw them too if not hit in right spot to kill them, any less lethal wont work just on centermass like most firearms!
I absolutely agree. If you're using a less lethal, it should definitely be a face shot. If you don't have a lethal to back it up, you're going to need to do as much damage as possible.
Great video. I’m glad you enjoy it. The holster Salt makes is very comfortable. I am use to carrying a large side arm (10mm) So I’m kinda use to it. I thought the same thing. That bottom cap is really nice. Much nicer than Umarex Thanks and great video
Yeah I'm thinking I will order that holster to see how it fits into my EDC. So far the byrna has definitely been the preference for me. I do love to carry the taser also.
Most of it is way too large to carry. They are great for vehicles or carrying in a bag. I'm sure they will get the size down as the technology grows. I appreciate you watching and commenting.

Wow. Large version of the MUB 50 cal. from Mercury Rise. If you are right-handed, the mag release is right where your finger goes if you don't have it on the trigger. Accidental mag release is a problem. Mag will release if you put it in a holster. Otherwise, it is a nice design.
Always good to have options. The safety can be defeated but it’s there so some dont shoot their finger nails off. Love the comparisons. I agree the next launcher that trigger pierces with power will be king.
Absolutely! I'm sure it will be the Grimburg, at least that's my thought on it. Too bad you couldn't get that Byrna anymore powerful because I love to carry it daily.
Hey BPP, this is off topic but I am asking LL content creators, what they think of the Wisconsin River stabbings? Since it applies to the self defense argument. And we are all about self defense. Sorry it may be too heavy of a discussion.
It's a strange situation, but it's the exact reason why you should have a nonlethal on you at all times. He went straight for a knife because he had nothing else to defend himself except his hands. If you look at the different age groups, there's no way he could have gone toe to toe with those boys. He had to have a force multiplier. Unfortunately for him, the only thing he had on him was a knife. We all know the right to self-defense, and what we will use to engage a person is based on our fear. That said, the jury has to believe that you were truly in that much fear, and in this circumstance, they did not. He was not convincing the jury enough to believe his self-defense claim. It came down to the ego of the young teens and his not being able to let it go, but we, as grown men, have to know when to walk away. This is the reason I carry a nonlethal pepper ball gun. It would have changed that whole situation. He may have been arrested, but of course, it would not have been for the stabbing. Reality is, in my opinion, he did exactly what he needed to do to get himself out of the situation, but sometimes, standing your ground against multiple perpetrators is not always going to turn out for the best. If I had been in the same situation with only a pocket knife I would have done the same thing. But this is also the reason we need to think about our EDC, no matter where we're going, whether that be the lake downtown or our job. What happened to him can happen to any of us, especially in this day and age, with all of the bullying, political turmoil, and racial impacts that we go through each day. It's a great topic, by the way.

One other question for you. Do you have a "Papa approved" pepperball brand that you trust? I have heard horror stories of rounds breaking in the launcher. Looking for a quality round.

And a majority of them do break under the pressure of springs over time. The round that is most consistent for holding up in my byrna and my M17 are above. They are made by pepperball and they are absolutely Papa approved. The only rounds that I haven't tried are the Duke rounds and I'm hearing good things about them. The great thing about pepperball is it's a proven brand. They hold up on the springs and they are reasonably priced. I have walked into that cloud more than once and it is not pleasant.
@@blackpowderpapa Thank you! I was hesitant to try the amazon "bargain" brands. I've done a lot of research and Pepperball brand seems proven. Aappreciate your input based on your experience. Helps a lot. I see Pepperball makes a 5% Pava as well. Is a higher % better? 🙂 Most of the pepperballs are really light at ~3 grams. Some of the the kinetics are 3.5 - 7 grams. I'm not sure the pepperballs will pack enough "punch" Maybe alternate heavier kinetic with the lighter pepperballs?
@@crankin7662 If you base it on how police officers carry theirs, they use one kinetic round to break windows and then everything past that is pepper. You're not looking for the impact on the pepper as much as you are the explosion of the actual round. The more pepper that goes into a person's face the better off you're going to be. The biggest concern is rather the pepperball actually breaks. The main reason I don't use Byrna rounds is because when I practiced with them they would not break every time on soft clothing. What I like about the pepperball brand is I had 100% success rate with hitting jackets and t-shirts. You see so many people practice with them just using a board and that is not real life. No one's body is a solid rock like that. But I do know lots of people who alternate between a kinetic round and a pepperball round. One of those things that's personal choice but I say if it works for the police with kinetic and then the rest pepper then that would work for me as well.
@@blackpowderpapa Thank you for the detailed reply. I will test the Pepperball brand first based on your recommendation! I ordered some 5% rounds today. I like the idea of 1-2 kinetic rounds first. It makes me wonder if the heavier 3.7 - 5 gram rounds or the really heavy steel rounds first would be optimal? Having some hitting power first may stop someone not holding a lethal weapon before getting to the pepper. Still trying to figure this non-lethal stuff out. I look forward to tinkering...
