As a Samsung Knight, they peaked in the late 2010s. Ever since they've focused too much on copying apple to be more mainstream There are many examples of this 1. IR blaster discontinued (TV Remote) 2. Iris scanner 3. Back fingerprint scanner to bring down notifications 4. Samsung Health (heart rate, blood oxygen scanner) 5. Headphone jack 6. SD card support 7. Samsung Pay turned into Apple pay (the previous version worked exactly like a card does, now it's NFT like Apple Pay) 8. S22 design (copying apple, removing curved screen) 9. Galaxy Note 10. Their buds copying airpods You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.
I remember when even as an Apple fanboy I had to admit that the S10 was a way better phone than the XS Max. Then Samsung launched the S20u and it was overpriced garbage compared to the iPhone 11PM. Samsung definitely recovered it with the S21u, but they never got back to the S10 lvl
Mainstream sells devices. IR blasters don't (in my mind's eye, whiners about IR blasters all look, sound, and smell like Simpson's comic book guy). The rest of the list is just silly. If all that were still there I expect none of it excepting SD card would move more units. Sent from my s23 ultra which does not suffer from missing any of that.
Like it or not, Apple is really good at defining a first-gen product. No matter how weird it may look at first, everybody usually ends up copying them.

The Samsung Ultra looks totally different than the Apple Ultra. Color orange in a common color used in high quality dive watches. Buttons are buttons used to navigate devices. Samsung still has the round clock face with a square behind it to increase battery and added features. Samsung Ultra looks more manly and rugged than the Apple Ultra. Did you know Samsung launched a square smartwatch in 2013 and then Apple launched their square smartwatch in 2015 COPYCATS.

A lot of Apple’s design is for brand recognition. At a glance you know Apple devices. From stems on AirPods to the notch, without seeing a logo you know it’s Apple. Excellent strategy.

Everybody is so caught up in the copying debacle but I just wish Apple would copy the 60hr battery life of the Samsung watch and the 24bit 96khz hifi audio of the buds. 💀 I would LOVE for apple to "copy" that

I mean, I don't like android things, but was always thinking if I had to get one I'd go with Samsung as its the best outta the bunch, but like this is pathetic, at the past I've respected them for their strange but unique designs.
I hate when companies do this. I have and use Samsung Galaxy buds 2, I think they are lovely, since they don;'t have a stick they sit flush in my ears and hence are amazing to sleep with or watch stuff while lying in bed, I use them very often for white noise while sleeping. Now the battery on my galaxy buds 2 is dying and I want to buy new ones but Samsung apparently doesn't sell those anymore and the buds 3 have the steam which means they'll not sit flush with my ears, hence I don't think I can use them for sleeping cus I had AirPods before these and the steam on those would poke my ear lobes or the jaw right below the ear and be uncomfortable
@GHOSTSTARSCREAM it's sad cus I think right now Apple has themselves hit a plato and it's a good time to save some money and cheaper android phones and not loose out on that much utility, you may not get Apple AI but my buds with iPhone 15 isn't getting that either
@@YashAtishay i had buds 2 pro and they do not sit flush in your ear bc they are too large. The fit with stems is more secure and easier to adjust should it move out of place. I havent seen any earbuds that you can lie on your side with.
@@RiqMoran mine are buds 2 not 2 pro and of course everyone's ear is different and I can easily lie on my side with buds 2. Since everyone's head is different and ear is different hence it's important imo for different designs to exist, cus am sure you and me we both are right at the same time

People need to realise that Samsung and Apple manufacture this competition. They make money off these phone wars lmao, they literally work with each other for parts and hardware alot of the time too. Matter of fact, they've been partners for a little over a decade at this point (Samsung gives Apple their displays to use on products such as MacBooks and IPhones, while Apple helps Samsung develop hardware and components to create better chipsets). They've both made billions of dollars in profit from these phone wars and this new drop by Samsung will only do the same.
Why would anyone put LEDs on wireless headphones? I want to get the most of music out of the battery. When you have them in your ears you don't see the indicator lights anyways. Such a stupid thing to do. Typically samsung 😂
The buds pro are slick. I don't consider that to be a strike against Samsung. They are just recognizing stem superiority. The watch is a wholly different matter. Make a big square and stick a circular screen on it? COME ON NOW. JUST MAKE IT A SQUARE SCREEN DAWG.
I do have to hand it to Sammy tho, their watch does 60hrs in rwgular use while the Apple Watch Ultra only does 36. You essentially get double the battery.
Trust me, I believe that will be a lie as before switching to Apple I had a bunch of galaxy watches claiming 40 hours or more in some models and I never got anywhere near that. Samsung uses the big hour claims with most features off where apple says that the battery life is 36 hours but with all your features on (except mobile data)
I'm switching to iphone 15's or 16's because I've used android for so long and I just want to try it out. Because it looks very good and ios 18 looks good.
I really don't understand why Samsung removed the rotating bezel. Literally everyone was saying the rotating bezel is better than the Apple Watch's digital crown. I've tried the rotating bezel before, and it was really good. It's so satisfying. Samsung needs to start using their brain, or else consumers will suffer from lack of choice.
I don't love the new buds' design, but I don't hate it either. I DO hate the Watch Ultra design though, not getting those. Just spend $994 on upgrading from - Fold 4 to 6 with case and S Pen (nothing wrong with mine but the 4 was a bad year for durability and I'm paranoid) - buds 2 regular to 3 pro (mine are wearing out, I was rough on them) - Watch 4 classic to 7 regular
i definitely dont miss cheap plastic covered in silverpaint that will just wear off from the mid 2000's, i thought we were over this. also the wasted real estate on the watch is just mindless when you think about smartwatches already feeling constrained enough, the constant reminder that the watch could be better everytime i look at those corners would drive me insane if i bought such a thing
I use a combo of Samsung and apple products, I have a Samsung ultra but I use airpod pros. My TV is Samsung but my computer is a MacBook. This whole who copied who is a bit silly since it's all down to preference at this point.
After the S24U Titanium frame, the downgrade from 10x to 5x Optical Zoom, the design of S24 and S24+ and this buds design, I'm just waiting for the Galaxy S25 Dinamic Island and an Action button

Let's be honest about both companies copying each other over the years. Samsung had a round watch face in a square body in 2017 Samsung had a square watch face in 2013 two years before Apple released their first watch. And you cannot have a rugged watch with a rotating bezel

sometimes I doubt in getting another Apple Watch instead of a Garmin Fenix 7 pro... then I remember why Garmin is better for me (battery, physiological parameters, topo maps etc) ... Samsung has never crossed my mind. And probably never will.

I hope the galaxy ring brings out similar products from apple or other companies. After transitioning to a healthier lifestyle , Im so much less attached to my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and S23 Ultra than I initially was. I dont personally "need" them like I thought I did. thats not to say theyre bad products, my needs have simply changed. I would love to just have a ring like product thats more affordable without a subscription (Aura) and a rugged ish phone alongside a normal variant iPhone (iPhone 15 512gb Example) to integrate with friends and family that matter the most to me)
They could have made the galaxy watch ultra like the rugged watch that are circular (like some diving chronographs) and have more buttons but they had to do this so🤷🏻♂️
Samsung Beans were an attractive product, I considered buying those, but what's funny - it didn't work out because their iOS app does not support their Galaxy buds. It looks like their marketing is about stimulating sales by partially closed ecosystem strategy, like Apple does, but the opposite happened in my case. No money for Samsung, I bought Sony earbuds.
As a samsung user, you're so right about this. I do find it too similar eith both product, right down to the design... They basically took the airpod design literally. Oh that wtach is so apple watch ultra from color scheme, to the orange band design. They can't even name it different instead of " ultra". But then again, I think they design the ear bud this way,, is becuase people like airpod but own a galaxy phone. Now they too can enjoy this famous design, and work with galaxy phone.
If the iPhone X came out in 2017 and it was the 10th anniversary iPhone 2017 was 10 years since the first iPhone but the next year it should’ve been the iPhone 11 and so on… now it should be iPhone 17
It never fails to entertain me how Samsung mocks Apple for its design choices only to then copy those choices next year. IMO this is has made the industry worse as a whole because Apple sometimes makes dumb stuff that has become a norm. Anti consumer shit like non expandable storage, non swappable batteries, no headphone jack, Bluetooth earbuds that you are forced to dispose once the battery dies in 3-4 years, etc.
The same with new Pixel looking just like an iPhone, while the current Pixel has nicely rounded chassis, so holding it feels perfect, like it was with iPhone 11. Such a shame that they all are only copying Apple instead of going their own way! On the top of that making things worse too, in the name of stupid design.
It’s healthy for companies to copy from each other to a certain degree as they can in someway add improvements to the design and the original designer can make improvements on what others have improved on. It’s only bad when it’s a complete knockoff

Why not go the Garmin Epix way? they are beautiful rugged watches.. This was a mistake. They massively fell on my eyes as a company after yesterday's fiasco.
