I have been provided one of those tents and am very happy to have it. The Tent booked up solid after I posted on AirBNB. I'm making bank between that and panhandling with a rented puppy.
My sister lives in San Diego and she said no one is using or living in the tents, because they basically want to stay on the city streets. A complete waste of money.
We will have a lot more homeless drug addicts coming from Arizona and Nevada since we are giving out so much free stuff (tents, food, cell phones, etc.) while taxpayers pay for all of it. This will also increase crime. Also, they need to put the homeless drug addicts to work picking up trash and cleaning up graffiti in order to get free stuff.
I know a guy that lives there. He goes to Mexico almost every day and buys cheap Newport cigs and brings them back and makes $5 every pack he sells. He also doubles his money on 3-5 bottles of liquor. He averages around $100-200 profit every time he does it. Not bad and no rent!
I can't judge. Some folks really cannot afford $4000/month on rent. You can't fault people for not having $48k annually to spend soley on a place to live.
Well you know if doesn't fit all needs some people prefer living outside but there are individuals families that have pets that needs a roof or need it more than outside..
Great news free camping for the criminal homeless community paid for by the Law abiding Taxpayers! Pathway for permanent Housing? Really what about the thousands of illegal aliens dropped off on San Diego streets recently! Just replenish the Free Campers in the Park! Can I as a Taxpayer Book a Reservation?

Se necesita más humanidad, pero deben corresponder en utilidad o hacer un servicio hacia la sociedad. Verlos siempre como 100% víctimas, no les das así ninguna tarea a hacer por la ciudad o comunidad, comunidad que hace un esfuerzo por acogerlos o darles sitio o higiene. Es un dar y recibir = verdadera dignidad. Y solo dar y dar y dar haces a esa persona mendiga siempre, al no reclamar que haga un cambio, un esfuerzo propio. Algo debe entusiasmar, arreglar ciudad, plantar arbustos, limpiar calles, restaurar. Se les puede dar herramientas, pintura.. Pavimentar calles arreglar agujeros. Cosas así que les Dan autoestima y utilidad y moral. Lo necesitan. O se acostumbran mal, a dar lastima, y de ahí no salen del bucle.
Good idea but let's improve on it, move it out to rural east county, add fence, separate those who have no interest in improving their lives and give them all the confiscated drugs we catch at the border, take the other group and provide life/job skills so they can eventually become productive member of society!

The pilot program for the very 1st SafeSleep site was in district 13 los angeles. A developer took my proposal for tents in the parkings lots promised me compensation instead gave me nothing,not a dime but threats and a wrongful eviction that is in court as I type this..this is my idea the city of LA stole from me , I made this because of my daughter. It is a shame , God knows the truth .. Who is the creator of SafeSleep ?????
And you know something... The Village .. Is the name i picked for it.. I wanted us, all of us to have a place to be with out having to worry. My daughter and I had a very bad financial problem causing us to lose everything. I got tired of everyone stopping me from trying to take care of my daughter along with my encampment... I drew up a whole proposal to show how this would help not only my family but all of us ... Its just very hurtful seeing this when I am being treated the way I am BUT for every person that gets help makes me feel better and I just Thank God. I will have my day in court. God Bless ..
I have a good friend who lives there now. He’s a good dude who doesn’t do drugs. He got injured and life kicked him financially. Never think low of anyone no matter their circumstances. I pray everyone of those people that live there are able to use this as a springboard to more prosperous lives. It’s a damn shame they wasted all that money on a losing w a r !!! All those hundreds of billions of dollars could have solved our home less cry sis! But hey bye done cares more about splitting money with put in!!!
