Delayed blowback. Delayed will have some sort of a mechanism that "slows" the movement of the action, that causes greater velocity and a safer firearm with little to no gasses being blown in the shooters face.

I love my 64f, but it wont run Winchester white box hollow point ammo. Works great with round nose ammo. My rear sight is also way off from the factory, it shoots 3 inches to the right at 25 yards. Im putting a red dot on it. Mags are difficult to load after 7 rounds, I use a Hilljack quickie loader. The mag release can be upgraded as well. 👍🏼. I like it

I just made a fairly inexpensive modification to my Savage 64F. I installed a set of Williams Fire Sights on it. Williams does not list any of their Fire Sights for the Savage 64 or 62 .22 caliber rifles. I decided to try the fire sights listed for the Ruger 10/22 and see if they would work, and they did. I drifted out the Savage front and rear sights. Drift out from the left side of the barrel towards the right because the part that fits in the dovetail on the barrel is tapered. The front sight was harder than the back sight to get out. The back sight came out easily. The Williams sights went in easily. Again. The front sight was harder to drive in. The rear went in easier. Before removing the sights you should mark the barrel with a pencil where the sights are centered so you can center the new sights. The Williams rear sIght has a set screw to hold it in place once you have sighted it in and adjusted it. Also the Williams Fire sIght has adjustable windage and elevation set screws. Part numbers for these sights are Williams 060213 or Ruger 90340.

Ya know, I'm not sure but I've never really looked into it. It's rumored the 64fss has fiber optic sights, but I wasn't able to find out from there website. You could probably contact Savage and see if there are any available for the 64. There are companies out there that make custom sights but they might be a little spendy. The 64 is a pretty good shooting gun and although not the easiest to field strip, it's not the worst either. Sorry I couldn't help more but I'm sure you'll enjoy it, even with the factory sights.

I bought this rifle about a year ago and I like it a lot for 99 bucks. For some reason though my 62f only seems to like Federal LRN 40 grain rounds. I can shoot those mag after mag and have no problem at all. Then I tried some Winchester rounds and kept having misfires once or twice on almost every mag. I also tried copper plated round nose CCI mini mags and those ones misfired to on occasion but not as much as the Winchester rounds. But the Federal rounds never misfire with my gun not sure why my gun prefers federal so much lol. I still love the rifle I just have to shoot federal rounds if I don’t wanna have any issues when I’m shooting which is fine with me. But it just kind of puzzles me why mine doesn’t like the other ammo.

Silentman757 We had the same problem with the Savage model 62 i had bought for my grandson.The only ammunition we could get to cycle through the rifle is Blazer round nose leaded bullets.With federal and winchester they would fail to feed every other round in the magazine .We have fired 500 rounds of Blazer so far and had one failure to feed.The thing that impresses me is how accurate the rifle is.We shoot a lot of one inch to inch and a half groups at twenty five yards.I do have a Savage Mark 11 that is also very accurate and it shoots all types of 22cal ammunition.

I believe it's because the 62 was a Stevens brand and the 64 is a Savage brand. They're essentially the same gun. Thanks for watching!

Whats the difference between that n the 64?

I only have the 62F but everything I have read says they're the same rifle. I believe the 64 may have more stock options.

62”F”? I have a $99 62, what’s the F ?
@SmallCaliberArmsReview
@SmallCaliberArmsReview 2 года назад
Usually Savage uses "F" as a designator for polymer furniture, I'm not sure this rifle is available in any other furniture material.

$150 now ,but still worth the coin considering how high things are in the times of the Ukraine and Russian conflict and gas prices , 🤔💈⚔️💈
