AC condensate is distilled water. Winter road salt will destroy the truck frame long before a little distilled water. Some people worry about things not worth worrying about.
I just went the easy route and sprayed the whole area with fluid film. I'll probably just reapply every oil change or so. It's been working great so far. Just heard of people having too many problems with this mod. Some have had clogging and some have pulled the original hose off the evaporator, causing poor drainage and wet carpets. As a side note my '97 4Runner has the same exact design. I did absolutely nothing to that area and I have zero rust after 24 years. I do live in California so results may very but it might not be an issue if you live in dryer climates.
Since I took delivery of my 22' Taco I've deplugged the rockers/doors and sprayed FF and also up behind rear/front fender wells, inside the engine bay/hood basically anywhere I could get to. I just reapply FF on high wear areas as needed. Might switch to wool wax for undercarriage since it doesn't wash away as easily. Gallon cans, spray can, Air compressor will keep her close to rust free. Rust is inevitable.
It's 4x2 I don't think this truck will be hitting any rocks? Only speed bumps at the mall. Maybe he could meet up with RobMotive to go mall crawling together?
